For me it's the little everyday things that bring the most joy. I'm sure a lot of my posts will be about the simple things in my daily round that bring me the most happiness. Like Landon's smile when he first wakes up in the morning or the sound of my husband coming in safely after an all night shift. It's scented trash bags and the sound of the trash man picking up my filled scented trash bags. It's the stack of clean towels in the bath or a freshly cleaned refrigerator. It's a call from my grandchildren to tell me that they miss me. It's a great sale at the local plant nursery. It's a good card game with friends or a Sunday drive to someplace I haven't been in awhile. I live life very simply. It doesn't take much to make me happy, it just takes a lot of little things.
I have faced very LARGE obstacles in my life and continue to do so. Everyday little things are what help me keep my sanity and sense of humor. Without either, I would have feared the outcome. Take pleasure in the little. Light a candle, smile at a stranger, help a neighbor in need, blog a friend, send a card to someone for no reason. The little things are always most cherished as the joy keeps coming back over and over. Blessings to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteOh June, you do come up with loveliest of posts!! I just love that picture of the strawberries and cottage cheese, something I myself love to eat. You are sooo right, it is all about the little things in life, and I think that this is something we learn as we get older. It isn't about all the fabulous places to travel, the big cars, the huge houses, the most money. Daily life gives us so many things to be thankful for and feel blessed, we just have to open our eyes to recognize them!! Great post, dear friend. Being able to read your posts is one of the " wonderful little things" in life!!
ReplyDeleteHi Debby, thank you so much for the sweet comment. I apprieciate the compliment so much on the blog. I didn't know writing a few of our thoughts down would impact each other so much, but it so wonderful to meet people who are living the grateful life and who are so positive about the world we live in. It is definitly a wonderful life. Thank you. Again, so glad we met.

Hi June, thank you too for that lovely reply-comment here on this post! Meant the world to me to read that. You are right, I too never could have envisioned that what I wrote on a blog post could effect others so much. Nor did I realize how close I could feel to people who live so far away, and yet connect with them thru our comments to each other. A wonderful wonderful world opened up to me when I signed up for blogger!!
