When I went to Boise last weekend, I stayed with my daughter Ember and took some
photos of her mantel to show for this weeks white Wednesday.
I think Ember did a beautiful job on setting up the vignette on her mantel.
She has such a good eye, and is one of the best junkers I have ever seen.
She loves to create and she loves to forage secondhand shops and antigue malls, and
can she ever find the best yards sales in town. I love going shopping with her.
We do have a problem of always going for the same things. If she gets to it first, I can usually
talk her out of it. I just give her
my poutiest face and she hands over the goods. What a sweetheart.
She had a shop for awhile in Boise and I have some great treasures from
her store. I would go to Boise when she opened in her first location
and help her with her displays. So fun.
I'm a lot richer now that her store is no longer there.
Darn...I sure do miss the deals I got. Mother's discount
you know.
If you are into white like I am you will want to go to
Kathleen's at Faded Charm where you will find a ginormous
list of others participating in the weekly White party.
I want to thank all of you on the input about what method to post in. It was so helpful.
Today I am trying out the new editor in Blogger. So far I like it.
What a beautiful mantel, your daughter really knows what she's doing! I love all those great finds, want to get me some more!!
ReplyDeleteBTW- your hyacinths are so pretty, I can almost smell them - what great pictures!

It looks like she decorates just like her mother. It's so fun when you can do something together, like junking! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI tried the new editor and didn't like it. I don't know if it is the same one but I couldn't see a spell check, which drove me nuts. I was glad to figure out how to get the old editor back. It sounds like you've got a handle on it though. (o:
It's beautiful!

Kathleen
June amor, I have soo missed visiting you!!...wait lemme take off my sweater and join you with a cup of tea...have any cookies??? k now I am ready for our visit :) First I want to thank you for your beautiful birthday wish...you and the other ladies had me smiling like a fool all week..imagine standing in the rain, soppin hair and clothes waiting for my lil niece and I was smiling! lol Ooh.. I love, your daughters house! She has beautiful tastes like her mama! I like some of the same things as my mama too..and it is usually her that gets the prized item too...$ usually talks lol but I learned years ago not to be a sore loser when she beat me to a special treasure...my dad opened my eyes, he said "Quit yer sulking and pouting...you and I both darn well know that sooner or later she will find something else to catch her fancy and that crap will end up in your house" lol Dad really did know best...I will have to start sharing some of my beautiful treasures that I have recently gotten from my mama because she they no longer tickle her fancy...ohhh woways me :) Besos, Rose

Isn't it wonderful to know that we "carry on" in many different ways through our children.
ReplyDeleteEmber's home is lovely.
Once you get the new editor figured out, will you please help me figure out a few things? I had a few issues, but loved a lot of it's aspects. If you get it down that easy, you're "a better man than I am gunga din"

Hi June, love how you hung that frame in an angle, very interesting!
ReplyDeleteI sent you an email regarding the cases, hope you got it, if not, just let me know!
Happy WW!
Hey June, Wow that is a beautiful candlestick! I love the chippy paint and it almost looks fosilized. I am so glad you two get to spend time together. As my daughter grows up (she is 25) we are getting closer and closer. It is such a huge blessing to have a daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe post I did about Glitterfest and Christie Repasy was done in the new blogger editor. I LOVE the picture part loading it up and then inserting. The wording was a little trickier for me there were some spaces that I did not want but I am going to stick it out because of the picture feature. It may help me blog more, Seriously.
I wish you were in our area to be able to come to Glitterfest. You could meet Christie and I would take you to an antique mall that she is in that would knock your socks off! I would show you all of my favorite places we would have a blast!
Well Thanks for stopping by and as always I so enjoyed your WW post.
Kim
Your daughter's mantle is lovely...we need more pics of her place! I love how she did the frames with the hanging items!!
ReplyDeletewow, June, we all see where she gets her talent. The mantle is awesome. Love it all!

Yay! Isn't it wonderful to be able to share something we love to do with our kids? They get our passion for finding treasures in these places and they enjoy it too. How awesome is that?
Much love to you,

Hi June,
ReplyDeleteOh, it's another beautiful white Wednesday. I can see where Ember got her wonderful decorating skills. I'm longing for an all white room. On your other topic, I've been using Live Writer for a month or so now and really like it. I was getting way too frustrated with Blogger and LW solved those problems. However, I understand they made some fixes to Blogger but I'm afraid to try it again!
Sharon :-)
