my iron garden angel
I thought that since this is the week of Valentines,
that I would share a few of the angels and cherubs
around my home.
a tiny angel bust just hangin' out on a shelf
When Landon was diagnosed with Angelman
syndrome I looked at angels in a totally
different light than I had ever done before.
I knew that I would need the help of angels to raise
this sweet little one that had been sent to me
to care for.
Whenever I saw an angel, I always felt the need
to bring it home to live with me. Soon I was overwhelmed
with them and over the years have been
able to curb that habit a little. Sometimes however,
I see one that I cannot resist. These are just a
few of them that reside here in this house.
I love this one I found just recently
I am a big believer in the ministering of angels to those
of us who live on the Earth. I know in my life I have felt their
presence keenly at times.
I have had their protection and comfort come to
me and have known that they are never far
away when needed.

And I have needed them a lot!

I know Landon has a whole host of angels that
watch over him. When he was a baby, even before
we had his diagnosis of Angelman, he would sit in
his bed at night and laugh and laugh (part of the syndrome
that we were yet to learn about is the presence of
excessive laughter) and Dale
would say,"I do believe that angels must
come to that boy at night and play with him."

I do believe his daddy was right!
I think he must have laughed himself out
in this picture.
the sweetest angel in my possession
Dear June-
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. You have such a gift for describing the heart of the matter.
I just feel blessed to have you as a friend in blogland.
Laura
This post brought a tear to my eye. Very special and I do belive that you too are an angel for everything you've done for your son. Thanks so much for sharing this and you always make me feel so grateful for my family.
ReplyDeleteHappy White Wednesday.

Hi June,
ReplyDeleteI was brought up in Sicily as you know and when I was born there was a plaque of an angel in my crib. Years went by my nonnas or mamma always mentions angels looking over me or if you stick your tongue out the angel is going to keep it that way or if you cross your eyes... and so on. I keep that tradition and always think an angel is watching over us, no matter if he is spiritual or my papa' or my neighbor. Love your post my friend, and guess what? I realized today...February 19th is going to be my first year of blogging and knowing you. Baci Rita
Every Angel you've ever shown is welcomed to come live at my house. I love them all.
ReplyDeleteYou are my favorite one..
Love, Rebecca
June,
ReplyDeleteI love your "heart" posts these are the best. I think you too are an angel to all of us who have the joy of reading your blog! Have a blessed Valentine's week!
Love
Kate
Just too precious...is your angel.
ReplyDeleteRene
This is a lovely post. I'm drawn to angels, too, and it started with a vintage picture of three child-angels that I hung over my daughter's crib. She hung it over her children's cribs, too. ::Jill
ReplyDeleteprecious, beautiful boy. I do believe that his daddy was right! We all could use a few angels in our life and I know that mine are working overtime for me. Beautiful~~sweet post June.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post. I love your collection! I have recently come to love angel things this year. I bought a silver heart locket that has angel wings that open and close on the front. Angel is my nana's middle name, actually! Isn't that neat? My mom wanted to name me Angel, but she didn't.
ReplyDeleteYes I do agree ... the last sweet little angel is far the most precious one of all! Absolutely matchless!
ReplyDeleteSandi @ Bearly Sane
He is adorable!
ReplyDeleteJune, I don't know what to say, or where to start. One of my nephews has Tuberous Sclerosis (I hope I have spelt it correctly), which involves autism. I enjoy the calmness I feel when I visit your blog. Words don't always give the answer, or say what we want the right way. Everyone should have an angel. Jenny
ReplyDeleteYour angels are gorgeous, and the last one is MOST PRECIOUS! Would love to see the rest of them. I've never heard of that disease. Will have to look it up.
ReplyDeleteJune,
ReplyDeleteOnce again you have touched my heart and comforted me. I began a collection of angels many years ago and still have many of them in my possession.
I was most touched by the photo of your son and the caption beneath. I am certain that he looks at you as his angel mother---and smiles.
May God's blessings come to you for being an angel bringing beauty to all of us.
In Grace,
Marie
June amor, you have the most beautiful heart...I always knew you coming into my lifes path was no accident...I too love angels...my Ita, everytime I left her side, would bless me and tell me go with the angels and may they bring you back to me safe..when I went to sleep at night she taught me to bless my room so I wouldn't have bad dreams and said the angels were watching over me...I still to this day, when I have a bad dream, wake up and bless my room and I fall right back to sleep...no bad dreams :) So when I read your posts my eyes watered because my Ita always said what you did...when my daughters were little bebes, and they would smile in their sleep, she would says the angels were visiting, playing with them and if they cried, she would say the angels were playing a bit too ruff :) So I believe with all my heart that you are right...the angels are indeed smiling and making your angel laugh :) Lucky him. Besos, Rose
ReplyDeleteJune amor, one more thing she always used to say...Blessed are those that walk with the angles..Besos, Rose
ReplyDeleteYou touch the heart of many mothers. From now on when I'll see an angel somewhere,I'll think about Landon. The world of angels is fascinating, they have different names and functions and ther is a hierarchy...I especially love the cherubs that live with your family!

Hello June
ReplyDeleteI met a little girl with Angelman syndrome some years ago. Her parents brought her to me to have a relaxing massage. I am a qualified aromatherapist. What struck me is how happy she looked, always smiling. A little girl I shall not forget.
Like you, I firmly believe in angels. I know that they are watching over us.
Landon looks so very sweet.
Warm wishes
Isabelle x

Good morning June,
ReplyDeleteMy youngest daughter was diagnosed with a chronic & acute form of hypoglycemia along with epilepsy when she was 6 months old. I too believe that angels help us through difficult times, bringing us love and comfort, and I have quite a few in my home as well! We had many emergency visits to the hospital, surgeries, and endless daily blood tests, but today Stacey is 25 and doing well.
Your son is beautiful, and I think he is a part of a very loving family, surrounded by angels.
Sending hugs,
Zuzu
Your post is so special that the tears flowed. I can't add anything more except that you are all very special people. God love you always, Diane

Beautiful June & oh that photo of your precious Angel and your little love note under it just made it the perfect post ♥
ReplyDeleteWow, what a touching post. You yourself are an angel. I recently found this quote: "I've seen and met angels wearing the disguise of ordinary people living ordinary lives."-Tracy Chapman
ReplyDeleteI believe I have met angels here on earth too. And through your posts you are definitely one of those angels.

Just found your blog and loved every bit of it. Your angels are wonderful and so is your darling boy.

June,
ReplyDeleteEvery time I come here I get a little more inside information about what makes you so wonderful. I love reading your words and feeling your heart. Landon is so well placed by God into your family, it is really obvious.
Also June your pictures are truly amazing. I love looking at them and am inspired by them. Someone else said Magazine quality and I agree!
Kim
Yes June, Angels are real and they do their part..... I must say I have plenty of angels all over my home.... I'm very fond of them also.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like a child sleeping seeing the beauty within them.... and knowing in your heart you want to keep them safe and to love them with your whole heart and soul. Landon looks so peaceful lying there so content. How very fortunate he is to have parents like you to give him all that you can give him and how fortunate you are to have such a precious boy in your life... by giving you more meaning and understanding what life is all about by setting priorities in the right order.
June,
ReplyDeleteIt is rainy & dark here as I read your sweet post. I'm tearing up, not with sadness but with happiness as your sweet son is blessed with such an amazing Mother. I have never heard of his disease before, I will look it up. Someday we will have to share angel stories. I know of their existence too, I have many examples in my life. They all came in my darkest days. Thank you for sharing Landon today. BTW, your angels are wonderful. Lisa

Hi June
ReplyDeleteHow blessed you are to have this angel in your life. I am at present reading a book on angels by Marie Chapian. It is a very interesting study of how these magnificent beings are amongst us and how they are Gods messangers to us.
I so enjoyed your loving post and of course all your angels.
Blessings
June,
ReplyDeleteYour post has warmed my heart. Your collection of angels is lovely but the joyous story of your son is priceless:).
Blessings to you and your family for a happy Valentine's Day!
Kim
June you continue to believe in those Angels ministering to you and your little one. As you believe in them...believe in HIM who sent them to watch over you...We never know why some things happen or where we will be in our lives when they do..but we have FAITH. It is that Faith in God that keeps us strong my friend. Your precious one is higher than the Angels..He's a Child Of the Most High!!! Therefore, always remember and never forget...the Father's Hand holds him and wraps him in HIS LOVE.
ReplyDeleteContinue to entertain all those Angels that are in your life...they are there and will continue to come...
Hugs to you...Lovey

Hi Miss June - Such a special mother for a special young man.
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing you cherups last summer. They made me want one so bad, well I've looked and looked and could find nothing.
However, there is a cherub sitting on a round ball at my store. I do believe I need to get it for my garden this year.
Have a great week-end.
Hugs
