My crabapples are finally in full bloom! Well, the two that are at the rear of the property anyway.
The crabapple trees in the garden haven't bloomed yet...still waiting...
The scent of this 'Centurian' crabapple is intoxicating. Mine are the ugliest shaped trees,
but when they bloom, they are so beautiful...when they leaf out...not so much.
But their fragrance is reason enough to put up with these ugly trees.
Out by the pasture fence I have three chairs that I painted different colors
and left out to rot age in the elements.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they will look like by the end of the Summer
after sitting in the sun and rain all season.
Here they sit with my pots of white geraniums.
And I think they will look gorgeous with armloads of peonies on them.
They are definitely not study enough for sitting.
But I do like how they prettify the pasture fence.
I had to share a couple of shots I took of these visitors to my garden a
couple days ago.
I have lots of robins in the garden and they are my constant companions
as I work. I love the birds in my garden, and wonder if they come back year after year
to nest in this same garden...and if they are the same friends I made last year?
I will be taking another break from blogging for awhile as I get ready to go to Farm Chicks (flea market
in Spokane, Wash.) I have a lot of work in the garden to do before I go, and packing and such.
I will be missing White Wednesday, but I will be coming by and saying hi to you all before I go and
after I get back.
Hugs to you all!
June
Beautiful shots, June - especially the crabapple blossoms and those three chairs against the fence.

June,
ReplyDeleteI miss many things from my PA roots but one of the biggest is robins...I just love them. When I visit the kids, I get so excited about seeing robins and squirrels and they both just roll their eyes..."oh Mom".
I loved watching a big fat Mamma yank on a night crawler, pulling up, up and up, until "pop" out it would come out of the ground....gee, I miss robins.
: {
Have a wonderful trip and come back and tell us all about it.

Love, Rebecca
OHMY!!! i just love how those chairs look June...that is SO pretty and sweet...what a lovely addition to your gardens...your trees look so beautiful...our crab has already done it's thing...it blooms for about two days, and then it is DONE...i don't think it is all that happy where we planted it...hubby keeps it pruned into a round top, so the tree itself is pretty...i would prefer better bloomage personally...LOL...
ReplyDeleteOH JUne, your photo's are beautiful as always. I love the chairs with geraniums, and the pink flowers and the birds. All beautiful. Have a nice time.'Riet

ReplyDeleteG'eve sweet June ~ Oh, my! The crab apple blossoms are so beautiful. Your chairs are on my shopping list! Great idea & such pizazz for the garden decor! As always everything you share with us displays beauty & serenity ... thank you.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous time in Spokane ... it is a great event & you will probably find lots of great things to bring home to share with us more new & clever ideas for decorating, inside & out.
We lost our robin next with 4 babies when the wind storm tore thru here 2 days ago ... how horribly sad ... they had just begun to peek over the nest edge to view the world. I talk to the 'girls & guys' all the time ... I have some that know when I call them for 'lunch' that they are sitting there waiting .....
Hugs of love, Marydon
June,
ReplyDeleteYour chairs are so beautiful. Your pictures should be a magazine June, they are amazing. The garden looks wonderful too. Have a Happy Memorial Day Sweetie. Lisa

June, your photos are gorgeous as always, we had crabapples at one house and they were heavenly, but you're right, UG-LY the rest of the time. Love the chairs and robins. We have a ton of them here, too. Have a great time at Farm Chicks, can't wait to hear all about it!

Oh June-
ReplyDeleteI love those chairs and the blooms on the tree are wonderful.
Your yard is so pretty.
Keep showing us pictures please.
Laura
Dear June,
ReplyDeleteYou crab tree blossom is so beautiful.....perhaps a tree has to be a little dowdy when in leaf or bare, for us to appreciate the blossom even more.
Your robins are very different to our's. They look a little bigger and have longer necks !!
.... and, I love your 'weathered' garden chairs. I love the 'ice-cream' colours that you have painted them.
I hope that you will take photographs at the flea market. You have the best flea markets....I am a little envious ! Have a good time. XXXX
Hello dear June,
ReplyDeletesooo beautiful picture from your tree and blossom, and the cute garden charis are gorgeous.... As Jackie said, apparently the robins in europe are smaller, wonderful pics...
I hope you will have a great flea market time and I'm looking forward to see many photographs of it....
Warm hugs
Bine
Love the idea of the pretty chairs!! What a pretty way to decorate outside.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous time at the show!
Londen
Oh June, did you hear me scream....sorry but I LOVE those chairs. The colors are my favourites, all three are just gorgeous. Now I really have to go look for three lovely chairs and paint them just like you did, love it! Also love the beautiful tree with the lovely flowers and the birds are so pretty, never seen them before.
ReplyDeleteHave lots of fun at the flea market and hope you will be back soon.
Hugs, Ingrid.
Your crabapple blossoms are a delight, June! The color is so vivid.
ReplyDeleteWe should ask a bird person about your robins. I would love to know if they return to the same place every year. (or pehaps they spread the word that you are a nice landlady?)
Have a fun trip!
June,
ReplyDeleteThe crabapple trees are beautiful! I love the painted chairs-the pictures look like they should be on greeting cards! They look so cheerful and fresh:). Have a safe trip to Washington-can't wait to hear about it:).
Blessings,
Kim
I ADORE your whimsical chairs in the pasture! HOW creative! Robins are my favorite!
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful! All of it, every stinking bit of it! I don't see any of that here in my neck of the woods and I just adore it. The picture of the three chairs needs to be in a magazine I am telling you. June I am sooooo happy you are going to Farm Chicks. We all want every juicy detail of your trip so we will forgive your being absent from us for awhile. Have fun packing and gardening. See ya when you get back!

I *love* the chairs! such a great way to use them...hmm..I'm gonna think about that...I have tons of chairs:)
ReplyDeleteDo have a great time...I'll be thinking about you there and wishing I was!
Rene
Love the blooming crabapple. Are these trees getting those tiny yellow orange mini apples? (Sorry I'm such a city girl). Love the pastel colored chairs too and what nice visitors do they attrack. I seldom see a robin over here, but we do have a lot of birds as we in our block have a lot of trees and bushes, at least for city people.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lot of fun in Spokane, don't forget to bring your camera! I love your photos! I hope you have a wonderful time and some amazing finds, cu! Hugs LiLi
Such beautiful blooms. I hope you are warming up and theings are starting to grow. We've had such unusually cold weather and nothing is really blooming here.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time at Farm Chicks. Can't wait to hear about your trip.
Kathleen
June your pics are gorgeous as always. I wish mine would turn out half as nice! Can't wait to see the chairs after they have weathered as well. Although the look pretty just the way they are. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love to see your new posts, June. I think the robins come back to the same place every year. I believe the ones who were born here come back. They think it's their home and we're the caretakers. Beautiful crabapple trees. Isn't it just gorgeous right now. And your little chairs are so cute! Love them lined up like that. My husband just doesn't get the "leaving outside to bleach and rot thing". I just do it anyway. Have fun at Farm Chicks. Diane
ReplyDeleteHi June,
ReplyDeleteI was thinking how gorgeous those crabapple trees were when I came up the photo of your three chairs. Oh, to die for! Such lovely colors and all lined up, it's just a vision. You did a wonderful job with those ornate chairs and flowers. I"m envious you are going to Farm Chicks - have a most wonderful time!
Sharon :-)
Awww, such a pretty post. Just lovely! My sweet little Robin Mamma built a nest in my rose trellis right next to my dining room window. I think she was getting used to my face checking her all the time. She laid four eggs...then...three days ago, I waited all day to see her...she was gone. Father Robin is still singing for her but I think one of the neighborhood cats got her. I cried all day!!! I get so attached to all the wildlife that visits my yard. Listen to me...such a Debbie Downer!!! Anyway...have a lovely trip, June.
ReplyDeleteHi, June,
ReplyDeleteOh goodness those crabapple blooms are so pretty, and they must smell heavenly. I adore those three pastel chairs in your garden. Thank you for your lovely comments. I want you to know I think you take great pictures, they could be in magazines. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteYour chairs make my heart sing sweet friend..I adore the lovely shades...hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteJune your photos are so lovely to see. I wonder if you get the fruit on the crab apples, they make the most delicious crab-apple jelly. A little tart but one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say, most birds return to the same nest each year so they may very well be the same friends you enjoyed last year.
ReplyDeleteI'm oohing and aahing over your painted chairs!!!!! With ooooodles of peonies on them... oh, what a vision!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad out paths crossed, June! You inspire me so much. Thank you.

Very beautiful images dear Junde!!!I love to visit your blog!!!Hughs Anja
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images, ALL! I often have the same thoughts about the birds that sing in our yard. Do they have a favorite spot to hang out? When some of them come back from warmer climes, is it to the same yard that they left in the autumn? I hope that you have a BLAST at Farm Chicks. I would really love to go next year, as my folks live in Washington State and it wouldn't be too far to go....a few hours. Oh, to be 1400 miles closer : (
ReplyDeleteTake a lot of your wonderful pictures and enjoy every minute.
xx Suzanne
Your crabapples are beautiful and I love those chairs. Your pics of the robins are wonderful. I hope you have a fabulous time at the Farm Chicks.

ReplyDeleteJune,
ReplyDeleteOh, how I have enjoyed this post. Your flowers are so very beautiful and the chairs are simply too cute. I am always inspired by your lovely photos and comments.
I also love the books on white decor. I am a great fan of white and love the pristine look of everything fresh and "snowy white".
I am so glad that Landon is recovering. God is so good to bring His touch to our physical needs.
I look forward to your next post, my dear. Blessings to you today.
In Grace,
Marie
This is very beautiful. I love the rich color of your tree's blossoms and the pictures of the robins. Saying that your crabapple trees are so ugly, and yet furnish such lovely blossoms makes me think of The Ugly Duckling story. And the chairs are delightful. I am so happy to have discovered your page here. Hope all is well....Rosalie/mudderbear
ReplyDeleteYou always have the most beautiful and charming posts. I love the blossoms.

Darlin June:
ReplyDeleteI believe the birds are the same ones that you befriended before and more who they told about how wonderful you are!!!
Hearing a birds twittering/warbling in the break of morn is one of my favorite pleasures : )
Your chairs are delightful!!!
My Ms. M (10 months old now) and I have been having BIG fun for the last 2 days. Today she is toddling about in her tutu; fell asleep in it this morning : ) She likes going out on my balcony and listening to the birds; swallows, pigeons and a the occasional sea gull : )
Have fun at the Farm Chicks flea market; I hear it is a really good one.
When you get back stop by and say hello.
Much love & peace
carole
June...
ReplyDeleteI can tell you one thing.
If I was a smart bird, your garden would be the garden that I would fly back to every time! :)
In the midst of the oil depression down here in Louisiana...these photos of yours are like sunshine.
Thank you~
June - I just wanted to let you know that I finally got your package in the mail today. I insured it and it should get to you by Wednesday. Hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams
cindy@stitches
Thank you very much for your comment. It means a lot to me, I think you take great pictures.
ReplyDeleteFunny thing about the flowers, I almost never bring them in the house because I do not want to disturb the plant. The other day I gave a friend a bunch of flowers and I was amazed at how beautiful it looked with the peonies, cabbage roses and shrub roses. Tonight I cut myself a bunch and tomorrow I am going to cut enough for every room. Almost like, why wait to use the fine china.
Have a great week.
Hi June
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful post! The crabapple tree reminds me of when I used to make crabapple jelly with my Mother. Good memories!
