A lot of this...and a little of that...

SO...

what do you think???

Should I think about opening a studio for kitty glamour photos???

Ashes looked so glamorous laying next to this concrete garden ornament,
that I couldn't help snapping a couple of shots of him.
I've had some of you ask about how he is doing, so I thought I would
have him say hello.

As you can see...he thinks a lot of himself...

and he should.

Because he is one cool cat!

I thought I would show you one of the things I did over the fourth.

Last year I took you to Rebecca's with me.

This is a little shop in Bellevue, Idaho that is only open the 4th of July

and Labor Day weekends.

I am always anxious to see what she has gathered together

for those of us who come to paw through all of her stuff.

Please forgive me for the not so great photos...I was too busy pushing women out of my way
to get to the good goods, to care about the settings on my camera!!!
This lady looks likes she's prepared to push a few women around as well...lol!

I have to play nice when I shop, because I know people here. I hate that!

I'll just be quiet while you look around...
and you know how hard that is for me.

I do want to introduce Laura...
She makes and finds a lot of the great stuff here.
She makes the bags and the pillows, and last year, I showed you the lampshades
that she does.

These sachets are made by a friend of Rebecca's. I bought some last year and one this year.

I think they are so lovely. The lavender that she uses in them is wonderful.

Yes, I did find some really beautiful things that I had to have, and I will be showing them
to you for White Wednesday. I was surprised at how much restraint I used over
the weekend. I guess I am still recovering from my trip to Farm Chicks.
I almost feel like I've overdosed myself on pretty stuff!

OH...speaking of pretty...

Can I share more peonies with you???

PLEASE!
I have hundreds of these blooms and I have been cutting them like mad

and have them all over my house. I have enough for at least two more posts.

Did I just hear a groan out there?!

Okay maybe it was just my imagination.

This bouquet started out on the porch...

I did manage to leave some in the garden...

even after cutting all of these!!!

I was able to take a huge bunch to my friend Michelle, which then shared some with Lisa
(my Farm Chick chicks)

I am trying to stay in good graces with them, so they will take me again next year.

Do you think it will work???

How I wish I could box up a huge bouquet and send them

to each of you as well!

I wish you all a lovey Summer weekend.

I hope you do something wonderful!!!

  9. Pretty kitty. What a shop, beautiful pillows and all that merchandise and she is only open those few weekends. I hope you didn't knock anyone over trying to get to something special. Something tells me you are a perfectly polite person.

Oh those peonies, I just love them, every room, everywhere! Enjoy them I know they don't last long, especially if a rain fall comes. Have a great weekend. I am off to one of my favorite flea markets of the summer on Sunday. We shall see how long I last with 3 kids in tow.

  17. Oh my whiskers! Ashes - you are some kind of handsome!!!! Schedule me for your Mom's glamour shot please. "She" took a picture of me and can I tell you that it was not my best side?! Yes, yes, tell me the date and I'll be right over!

Pardon me a moment.....sorry, had to lock "her" in the closet. "She" kept shouting - forget the photos girl - SHOP!" Totally out of control. Even when I told "her" you had to play nice because you knew people, "she" was still trying to grab things on the screen. Sheesh!

Anyway, regarding the P. flowers - if that don't get you in good graces with the Chicks, nothing will! Those were beautiful and so many....I could have just made a bed out of their petals!!!

    Purrs!

  34. Oh June, First you have to stop showing so many different lovely things all at once.... my brain can't keep up when I want to make a comment. Ok lets see if I can do this.

    1) Your cat photos are spectacular... opening up a studio.... ya I can see you doing that.

    2) What a charming place to visit..... I think we both can go and start shoving people out of the way. Oh God June, I was laughing so hard when I read your thoughts on that. My girlfriend and I can get pretty assertive (and that's putting it mildly maybe it should be aggressive) when we're out and about, especially with each other. We can't get out of the car fast enough to get to the items because we have similar taste. I'm telling you we have a riot when we go out. Sometimes we laugh so much I need to put something extra on so I don't leak.. ha ha

    3) I don't know about sending the peonies out to everybody, but YOU CAN SEND THEM OUT TO ME.
The colors are gorgeous on them....

    4) Oh Dear God I was hoping that I didn't loose the comment thing because I certainly wouldn't want to do this all over again not to mention remembering.

See this is why you can't put to many topics on because how could you not respond to every photo you put on...

I'm exhausted now and it's all your fault-

Love & Joy to you my friend.

  56. June, I just happened upon your gorgeous blog! What a lovely visit I had with you!
Your handsome fellow strikes quite a pose! Sweet cat!
Peonies~ the most beautiful, heaven filled flowers! I just found a way that you can keep them for 6 months.
Pick an almost ready to bloom bud, when it is large and round and has some pink on it. Cut and wrap in newspaper and keep in your refigerator. They will last for 6 months in this state. When you want to bloom a couple, cut and put in water and they will bloom!
I was just giddy when I found this tip. That means you could have fresh garden peonies till December! Oh, joy!!!!!
I am a new follwer~ so nice to meet you today!

  77. Hey June Bug!
Gotta love those peonies... mine are so long gone they are a faded memory. This year it was so hot I only had them for a couple of days! They are one of my favorites besides lilac and of course English roses.
But I have never in my life seen so many bouquets and bushes of peonies you are the queen girl! Talk about luscious! And you captured them so artfully... you are getting to be the bomb with that camera.
Now let's talk about that sale you went to... that French trim had me drooling all over my computer and the columns... I need those!
What did you buy at the sale???
It looked like a fun time.
    Have a great week June

  81. June,
FINALLY got a minute to go online (NOT a priority in my going-way-too-fast summer) to see what you've been up to. WOW...peonies en masse are gorgeous! I cannot tell you how happy it has made me to look at my beautiful bouquets of peonies that you gave me. I keep them in the kitchen because that is pretty much where I reside all the time...darn kids...they think they need to eat three times a day or something. I love them. The peonies, that is. (Okay, and the kids too.) They take my breath away. (The peonies.) Haha. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! You are the best! By the way, I know what you mean about not buying much at the antique fairs on the 4th. I think I had antique overload after Farm Chicks and a weekend in Boise. I didn't buy much at all. Seriously, after Farm Chicks, pretty much everything pales in comparison. Can't wait for next year! Oh yes, and when can I come see your studio??? Waiting by the phone with baited breath...
