Autumn is glorious!!!

So, so glorious!!!

Was I sad to put the garden to bed?

Yes!

But how can I remain unhappy when all of this is before me now???

Aren't we blessed to live in such a gorgeous world?

When I wake in the morning...I have a ritual.

I go to my bedroom window, and draw back the curtains, and say a prayer.

A prayer of thanksgiving.

For everything!

For every bit of it!

The seasons change so beautifully here.

It makes everyday a pleasure.

It makes me want to jump from the bed in the morning just to see the loveliness

that will be gone too soon from view.

These are the last views of the garden I will be showing this year on my blog.

I now hope to get some pretty things made for Christmas to give as gifts this year.

My daughter who lives in Boise came and spent two days with me,
and helped to jump start my creativity.
I have difficulty switching gears from one thing to another sometimes,
and it takes something, or someone to help prod me a little.

I have no idea when Jo Packham will be contacting me about shooting the feature
on the studio, but I think I had better get to making something to show for having
such a fun place to create in.

Nature has certainly been busy (without any prodding at all) creating amazing views

in the garden and around my lovely part of Idaho.

These are some earthworm eye views of the leaves falling all around

the beds and lawn.

I have all the work done in the garden for another year and it feels good to have

accomplished it all before the snow comes.

Of course there is always something that will have been overlooked...

like getting all the hoses rolled up, the lawnmower Winterized,

and the patio furniture stashed undercover...

but those are Dale's chores.

I'm just sayin'...

Sorry about all the pictures...

but I had so many I wanted  to share and had trouble deciding, since it was the last post on the garden

for 2010.

This crabapple is my favorite in the garden.

Still so much green for this time of year here.

And...can you believe these next few were taken the same day???

Just a couple of days ago!

And this is my last garden bouquet of the year!!!

I will miss you, beautiful roses!

And a few words to live by

Thank you for letting me share my passion for gardening here and
for your encouragement.

So until next year...

Your garden is always magnificent... and those cabbage roses.. divine!!! My favourite shots here today and the scattered leaves.. they tell such a story...

You know autumn in Sydney is just bleak.. therefore I rarely enjoy that season.. but looking through your eyes and in your country... it looks quite spectacular... Snow is not found in Sydney either.. so I for one will be waiting for your snow posts..

  3. Ahhhh...Junebug,
So much beauty. Love those crab apples. I must say there is NOTHING about that tree, that is not to love.
The blossoms, the sweet little apples, even the gnarly nature is just spectacular. We have a wee little court yard that will have a crab tree in the center, come spring...I can't wait...oh dear one I have missed you...May you find respite too, now that your paradise is taking a nap...smile on Rosie

  6. You do it to me every time, June... I come to visit and tell myself I'm not going to leave a book for a comment. Then, I see your BEAUTIFUL pictures and just can't help myself! I'll try to keep it simple... STUNNING, GORGEOUS, INSPIRATIONAL!! I think it's because we share the same passion for gardening that your posts manage to grab my attention so. Thanks so much for sharing the beauty that surround you with us!

  7. I should have prepared our tiny little citygarden too. But I cannot: The beans still grow and so do many many other plants and flowers.

Must have been three weeks ago that I bought theses 15 little "Tannenbaums" I always plant in for the snowy winter.

But they have to wait - nature still is too vital and still shows so many marvellous effects that I cannot "kill" it.

Love the impressions of your wonderful wonderful garden !!!!!

    Dearest greetings from Cologne/Germany

  9. The crab apples and roses - such sweet photos - there's an ache at saying good bye to them.
We still have work to do in our garden, and work at the office is piled up. The fabrics and yarns in my baskets wait - rewards for the completion of the not-so-much-fun tasks.
Too many photos in this post? No way! Every one was a treat!

  12. Dear June,
Aren't the colours of Autumn just so beautiful? I drove through the countryside to the pub yesterday, to meet a friend and the trees are at their best. They look as if they are on fire....just amazing.....and, your garden is amazing as well, whatever time of year. I love living in a country that has the four seasons. Each one offers something stunning, doesn't it ?
Well June, I bid farewell to your beautiful garden for another year but look forward to seeing it in a blanket of snow.....but not too soon....although it looks magical, it means that winter has really settled in.
Lots of love June and enjoy the end of Autumn. XXXX

Have a blessed rest of the week!
And Thank you for thinking of me!

I wish we had "change of seasons" down here in the deep South. I'd love to get into the Fall mood but it's rather hard when it's still in the upper 80's/lower 90's!!!!

I cannot wait to see what you'll be creating for Christmas. I'm sure it'll knock my socks off!

I hope you and yours are safely tucked in from any violent weather; we here are dealing with that low pressure system that is giving us an unusual HURRICANE TYPE wind pattern! I woke up at 2:00am yesterday and could not sleep because of the howling sounds above my head!!!

  47. Oh June,
what an amazing garden you have, I think I've already told you a thousand times I love it! Unfortunately, as you know, because of my hands, I cannot garden extensively anymore. We viewed gorgeous properties in England with glorious gardens, and the landlords even offered to pay for a gardener, if needed. It was a huge relief, even if I'm not sure I'd like to have someone around my garden (even if it won't be mine!LOL) taking care of my precious plants and flowers! Let's see. As for now, I already transplanted all my peonies. It might be silly to some people that I bring them along with me to another Country, but I know you'll understand ;))
I'm glad you enjoyed my English Tales.
Hugs, and have fun in the studio! Can't wait for that issue of WWC.

Don't we enjoy things more that we don't have all year round? In the meanwhile you have all the gorgeous pictures of your garden to look at. When it will get all gray and drearily over here, I know I still can click on your blog, look at some older posts and enjoy the luciousness of your garden in spring and summer :-).
Have a lot of fun creating Christmas gifts in your wonderful studio, June! I'm looking forward to seeing your beautiful creations!

Your 'last' garden pictures are just gorgeous ... as always. Preparing for a 'rest' ... the seeds are nestled beneath the fallen leaves, nourished by the fallen snows, to bring forth new beauty in the spring & colors for the summer.

In my mind where the views of your part of Idaho all covered by snow for a long time and then the miracle of June´s garden starting to bloom again, so this morning, after crying a little bit for all the loss the snow did at my garden I said to myself "this is just nothing, everything will live and blossom again just as in June´s garden, why should I be sad for just few centimeters of snow??

I´m so in love with every inch of your garden at any season of the year!!!!

How glorious it all is... time to rest now. I just got back from traveling across the the prairies of the Midwest and found so much beauty in what God has created. I could hear his voice in the wind whispering over the prairie grasslands that stretched as far as the eye could see. It all magnifies the Lord, just as your garden has done. Isn't it all amazing.
