The pure prettiness of pink...

I bought a new camera a couple of weeks ago and I have been practicing a bit this week
and thought I would share some of the pinks in the house.

I finally took the plunge and bought a DSLR. In the olden days, an SLR was all
I knew, but when I decided to try my hand at digital, I bought a Canon Power Shot S5IS
and have loved that little camera. I have just about worn it out and needed a new camera.
I decided on a Canon EOS Rebel T1i. So far I'm happy with the choice.

Of course as usual, I have mostly dried blooms from the garden to share.

Love the way these hydranges turned this year.
They are the 'Limelight' variety.

Oh, here's a little silver sprinkled in.

More of the peonies that I dried this season.

This is the peony wreath I made the other night.

My fingers still hurt from the burning glue...LOL!

Oh do I LOVE pink!

I went to the post the other day and what do you think I found????

M from the wonderful blog The OC Cottage sent me this
lovely pink teapot because she was offering one in a giveaway,
and I had written in my comment that I didn't have a teapot
and boiled my water in a pan!
Well...I didn't win her giveaway...but...
she and her sister couldn't stand the thought of me not having one...
and so...I have this wonderful note...
and a beautiful pink teapot to boil my water in!!!!

She also tucked some of her posies in as well.
I love the cards she sends me. I am sure they are also her own
personal artwork as well.

M you are truly the best!

  7. I'm still using my teensy tiny Cannon SD 1200 - too afraid to move up!
I love pink - every room in the house has a touch, even if it's not immediately noticeable.

  8. June, I have a Canon Rebel XS and just love it, sugar. My granddaughter and her hubby bought one also. Theirs has the video option but we're old folks so we didn't need that one. I'll depend on them to do all that for our GGD now. I'll just do the photos of her.

41° over here today, cloudy and cold. Just sitting around feeling sorry for myself and this hamstring pulled leg!

I've never seen any like yours. I like them better than the live ones, I think. I can see you will just be making our world here in blogland a more beautiful place with your new camera. I have the Canon powershot too and love it. Some day I will graduate to the next step up in a Canon...I just love Canons. What a sweet sweet gift that pink teapot is. ox~ kerrie

Not that's it's not very impressive when Martha Stewart sticks toothpicks in 200,000 individual cranberries to make a wreath...sure, that's cool too...but yours is much more to my liking! {don't tell Marty I said that...she has been a bit hyper-sensitive since the little prison "incident"!}

  96. I wrote about your blog on my blog! I wish I knew how to make it a direct link... where your blog name is a different color and all someone has to do is click on your name and it goes directly to yours. But alas, I don't know how.
    They have to "google" you.

  101. Good Morning June Sweetie...
I am Country Wings in Phoenix, your newest follower. I read one of your comments left for another friend, and was so drawn, I just had to pop over. I am so blessed that I did. I can't believe I haven't met you before.

Your blog home is just beautiful, your garden dried flowers exquisite and this wreath is absolutely breath taking. I love peonies and cannot believe how gorgeously they dried for you. I could feel the burns from the glue gun, I have been doing a little hot gluing myself of late.

Love the teapot you received. Ms M is so sweet, and what beauty that pink will hold in your kitchen.

I read on through your blog a little and saw the beautiful pillow your sweet daughter made from a ruffled shirt, loved it, and the slip cover that the lady made for your chair is so perfect. Loved it. So much beauty tucked in so many corners of love.

Please stop by and say hi. I love meeting new friends, and sharing. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday sweetie. Many country hugs, Sherry

  109. Hello June - I have just been looking at your divine pics of your dried roses. Those peoney
roses are just incredible aren't they? We have grown them in the past but not in this garden which we have built up over the past 6 years. Tell me - are you sold on your new camera? We are just looking into a new one also so wondered whether you were happy with it?

  116. Greetings, June!
I was away for awhile but am glad to be back visiting, finally! Coincidentally, hubby just bought me a 'Rebel' as an early Christmas present! Wish me luck! I, too, can't get enough pink! Love your photos and your blog and, of course, your new pink tea kettle. How thoughtful was that of your blogger friend!
