Dreaming of this...

I can't wait to have these blooming in the garden again.

But it will be quite awhile yet.

This has got to be one of my favorite trees in the garden.
( I have a ton of favorites...as you know)

It is my Red Jade weeping crab apple.

Today I am linking up with Tracie at Fishtail Cottage for her 'Cottage Flora Thursdays'.

Most of you have already seen some of these pictures from last year.

Since my garden is a late bloomer because of where I live in the US I decided to show some

of my favorite views of the 2010 garden.

out by the pasture fence...

Darn that wretched garden hose always spoiling my pictures!
Now that I've said that, you will be sure to notice.
lol!

And notice in the picture below, how I cleverly tried to hide my lawnmower
with a watermark?

Peonies are definitely the show offs of the garden.

One of the biggest joys is when I am able to cut armloads of these to bring into the house.

Here is my pretty Henry Kelsey climbing rose.

The rose in the foreground of this shot is John Cabot...another climber.

This is a view of the front garden from the highway that runs in front of our place.

hmmm...
I wonder if I could get Idaho Power Co. to shorten up those power poles
so they quit spoiling the view?????

I love the rose in the foreground in this picture.

It is a William Baffin rose.

It can be on an arbor or stand on it's own,
as it has very strong canes. This one is not on an arbor.

The rose behind it is the John Cabot,
and that one is on an arbor.
It is just a little deeper pink than the William Baffin rose.

I have several of both of these roses in the garden.

I can't seem to get my fill of them.

The delphiniums take center stage in about mid July here.

My favorite is Black (or Dark) I can't seem to remember)) Knight.

It grows over 6 foot tall on sturdy stalks.

I place them in many of the beds here to add color and height.

I know many of you have seen some of these photos before, so thank you for humoring me

and allowing me to show them again.

Gardening is truly a joy for me, and so I am very anxious for the work to begin again.
I have so many plans for this year
and can't wait to get started.

  4. Wow June, your garden is absolutely beautiful! It doesn't matter how many times you show the photos, I can look at gardens over and over, especially yours. How peaceful it must be being there walking through it or lounging in one of your sitting areas. ~sigh~ Makes me miss my little garden. I'm headed home Saturday and will enjoy it for a little while. You have inspired me so! Love, Julie

  5. You did it again, now I want to order more peonies! I have some new cages for my peonies this year. Mine are already about a foot out of the ground and they are getting hailed on today. We have a couple of great peony farms close by where I live so I will be walking the your fields to find a special one or two. Keep the garden photos coming, I love then. Here's to your snow melting and your garden awaking! Hugs!!1

  13. June...I always love seeing pictures of your garden, it seems you always have a different view of things so it seems very fresh and new. I love your peonies, I used to have them at the lake until some renovations forced us to dig them up and they died off before I could replant them. I really miss them. Funny how they become like old friends that we don't see over the winter!

Hope all is well with you!

  14. Thank you for that shot of summer sunshine and peony perfume! As I look out at the water-logged lawn and the sodden beds it's hard to believe it will all explode in colour with just a little warmth and sunshine. This was a grand reminder!

  20. June I could never tire of looking at your gardens. It must smell beautiful walking through them during flower season.

The peonies are just amazing and I can't wait till they are in bloom too. Hopefully we are seeing the last of the snow and I may be able to start cleaning up some of my flower beds.
I am working on some new backyard beds and I was wondering what do you start with when it is just grass?

  23. Hi June,
I loved seeing the beautiful pics of your garden.
Too bad we weren't neighbors - think of the fun we could have sharing plants and tips over the garden fence.
Like you I am really looking forward to getting out there again.
Your roses are more floriferous then mine- I am guessing your horses have helped out?
I hope we will both be able to get out into the garden soon. Most of my beds are cleared off now except the hillside garden and things are already growing when they are uncovered because we had little or no frost in the ground
    last year.

I look forward to seeing your new plans for the garden.

    Take care,

I always have difficulty with mine surviving through the winter, they never seem to go on for more than a year. I wonder what your trick is? My Mum had these in our garden too so it would be really special if I could keep them going. I bought some last Summer and they are re-shooting now that Spring is starting at long last. Now I just need to keep them going :) Have a lovely weekend, wishing Spring your way, Catherine x

I'm going to admit that I have not one peony in my garden....isn't that ridiculous??? I think it's because they come on just as we are at our busiest and I know I won't get the change to enjoy them.
That's why I'm a little jealous that you have them last so long in your cooler weather.

so for now I'm happy to see yours June.

  99. You know what captures my eye in this one? The fact that you positioned your pastel chairs in the back ground. LOVE THE EFFECT.
Peonies and more peonies. Can't seem to get enough of them either. They mesmerize me to no end. I only one small bush, but their little pink heads, every single one of them make me smile.

You all bless my life with your sweet words,
and I appreciate you taking the time to leave them.
