The garden has been bringing it's bounty of blooms to us lately. It is such a pleasure to
walk out in it every morning and see what is new.
All gardeners know that you miss so much if you don't take every opportunity
walk around in the different light throughout the day. So many changes happen
over the course of a few days.
Even now as I write this the peonies are fading away.
Here are a few pictures I have taken while they were at their peak.
I know a few of you will have seen two or three of these pictures on my garden blog,
so forgive me for repeating myself.
But I just can't help myself.
I have one of those personalities that becomes easily addicted to things. I would maybe even
use the word 'rabid'. lol!
When I find something I love, I have to have more than one.
Yes, I am one of those who can never eat just one cookie, one soda,
one french fry,
or one potato chip. (and that's why they are seldom brought into the house)
(chips, I mean)
This is how I am with peonies!
They just give, and give, and give.
I even had to take some to the gazebo on a beautiful sunny day.
As I am sure you have all noticed by now, I love the pastel colors of these blooms and am attracted
to fabrics in the same hues.
They remind me of cotton candy.
I love huge bouquets of peonies because of the statement they make.
And this is not all.
I will be back to share more of my obsession soon.
"When I find something I love, I have to have more than one." Does your hubby knows about that, LOL???
ReplyDeleteJune, I LOVE your peonies. Actually I'm not sure what I love more. These gorgeous flowers or the gorgeous pictures you take of them. I can't get enough of them, so just go ahead with your obsession :-)!
Hugs to you,
Julia
Ohhhh June.. I love peonies sooooo.. and your pictures are soooo beautiful..
ReplyDeleteHave a nice restweek..
Many hugs Susi
Good morning gorgeous! Peonies, foxgloves, delphiniums and more, are slowly bowing their heads in peaceful sadness as summer is becoming too hot HERE to bear. But their beauty out your way is still beaming with gladness. You blog is absolutely stunning dear June! PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU! Anita
ReplyDeleteYes, you are my Peony girl!! I absolutely love all your flowers but you out do yourself with your Peonies! I dug up several Peony starts at my mothers old place last year. I'm hopping next year they will bloom. It will be a surprise as to what color they will be. Thank you for stopping by, I always look forward to your comments. Big Hugs to you!! The other June
ReplyDeleteJust wanted you to know what a lift I got stopping by! I don't grow peonies, so I envy your beautiful supply! Beautiful, beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteDon't you find that people who love peonies also love hydrangea, and lilac, and well........ everything soft and lacey.
ReplyDeleteI have peaked back several times at the image of the huge bouquet in the blue pale. Maybe in the cold of winter you will refresh our memories with the image again.
Enjoy the beauties.
Your photos of your peonies are gorgeous. Who doesn't love the sight of those beautiful petals in full bloom!?!
ReplyDeleteHi June,
ReplyDeleteI have to admit the green eyed monster is starting to come out a little! lol I LOVE peonies in pastel colors and sure am having a heck of a time growing them. My son even chopped one plant off last week when he was weedeating here. When I found it I just yelled NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Oh well...this too shall pass right??
Hugs~
Your peonies look absolutely gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteHuggs, Veronique
Since I missed my peonies blooming this year, I'm really appreciating your beauties, June! Such gorgeous photos. They are without a doubt my favorite flower. Now if they only bloomed a tad longer than they do, I would be thrilled.

June, it was soooo good to hear from you!! I am still getting my feet wet back in blogland, but looking forward to the big dive, hoping to reconnect with many old friends, and find new friends. Your peonies are gorgous. Peonies will always remind me of my Grandmother, who loved them too and had big beautiful bushes of pink and white ones in your garden. I can smell their sweet scent still! And I remember how her and I would stand side by side during the summer and pick the june bugs from the bushes so they would not ruin the flowers. When her house was sold, the bushes were dug up and my sisters and cousin now all have some of grandma's peonies. I love that they are still in the family, keeping "MomMom"'s memory close. big hugs to you, debby
ReplyDeleteI always pronounced them "pea-o-nees" so when a friend here said "pea-u-neez, I didn't know what she was talking about. I took a survey at school, only showing the word "peony" and asking individuals how they would pronounce the word. Most everyone pronounced it my way, with the long "o" which according to the dictionary, is wrong. :)
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are absolutely gorgeous! No wonder you love them so much. Have a fabulous rest of the week. Tammy
June tour peonies aew amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you have so lavishly displayed them.
They are a bloom that deserves to be flaunted all over the house!!
They are my fave and their petals are heavenly!!
Thank you for sharing..I dont mind seeing them..even a million times!! :)
Happy day!!

Dear June,
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are stunning and you have so many of them. It is impossible to have just one favourite flower, but peonies are very high on my list and, unlike fries, cookies and soda, they are not fattening.....unles you eat too many of them !!!! haha
Will you be drying some of them ?
Hope that you are recovering well June and not over doing it.

Hy, your peonies are just wonderful and I give you right, every hour in the garden has an other light and so the flowers have an other aspect and have to been photographed every time! I do the same with our roses in the garden!
ReplyDeleteI am a fanatic of roses!
Enjoy plenty of your time in the garden, regards, Barbara from Switzerland
Oh June ~ your peonies are so beautiful!!! Ours are long gone so it is so nice of you to share yours with us. Everything seems to be prettier in your garden where the summers are cooler. We're in the midst of a nasty heat wave which is stiffling for everything that must live outside. Your pillows and fabrics are such perfect companions for your peonies. Wish I could see them all in person.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Good Morning June
ReplyDeleteYour peony & garden photos are stunning! Our peony have long faded so it was wonderful to see yours ♥
Oh they are so beautiful. I so enjoy seeing your pics as our's are long gone for this year. The peony is one of my favorites and we bought 2 of the itoh peonies this year. I can't wait for them to bloom next year and share pictures. Have a wonderful weekend.

Your peonies are beatiful, so are your pictures. Ours were in bloom in April, it's already finished and did not last for long because we had hot weather in april, which is unusual.
ReplyDeleteHi June
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for your pics of peonies, they are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. They really flourish in your garden.
My humble plant produced only two flowers this year. As we rent I have been growing it in a pot but I think next summer I must plant it out. I can always dig it up if I move.
Hope you are now fully recovered and feeling great again.
Wendy
Darling June, every thing is so stunning, soft, heavenly in your home and garden!

ReplyDeleteI have an addiction with my garden too but my husband hates it because he has to help me move things around. Maybe one day I'll have as many peonies as you do! I'd like a lot of Roses too! And Hydrangea's. And . . . well, see?
LOVE!!!
ReplyDeleteXo Martha
Simply beautiful June!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely flower! I remember arriving in Paris years ago where my daughter was living at the time. I walked into her little apartment on the west bank and there was a huge glass bowl of peonies, falling every which way! Charming and such a beautiful welcome to an enchanting city!
ReplyDeleteHi June! Peonies are my favorite flower on Earth! By far! No other compares in my mind. To see them growing would be a dream come true. We can not get them to grown here in California but we can buy cut ones and I do whenever possible! Enjoy yours and I am happy you get to grow them right in your yard!
