Pardon my slang,
but this is what we call the guest room.
I am on a mission this Winter to get this room company worthy.
(I think I can hear my daughters and husband laughing)
I'm sure they think it's hopeless))
It used to be my sewing/craft room
(thus the crap)
It has always been the dumping room. Where everything that has no home ends up.
I've tried, I really have, but there is no way I can keep it tidy.
It's in bad need of a paint job, new flooring and a maid.
Since I had some grandchildren coming for the weekend, I decided to straighten it up enough
that one of them could find their way to the bed and make use of it.
A little pitcher of sweet peas should make them feel welcome.
I love the fact that the sweet peas are still blooming. I've never had them bloom this good this long.
They smell so good...
and are such photogenic little things!
They go a long way to making this guest room look a lot more inviting!
I took these photos Friday to have in my garden files to remind myself next year to
plant these again in this same bed.
They have flourished here!
This walkway joins our front patio to our back parking and
I couldn't even count the passes I make here in a day, but I can say it is
always a pleasure with the sweet peas in bloom.
A heavenly, fragrant pleasure!
Hi Dear June
ReplyDeleteI wish my 'crap' room looked this good.. by the way.. i have a bug phobia.. hahaha. will have to go and calm myself now after reading that!! hehehehe
Have a lovely weekend.. ciao xxx Julie
Oooh June! I DO love sweet peas but only had the pleasure of having my own blooming once. No idea why... the other times I sowed them they never grew!

Judy
Oh sweet June, what an inviting room - I' coming ;o))
ReplyDeleteWarmest hugs and best October-wishes, yours Traude
Dear June,
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe that that room was ever a 'crap room' !! I wouldn't mind having a few rooms like that !
Our house looks as if a bomb has hit it at the moment. Our son, daughter-in-law and grandson have sold their flat but haven't found a house yet and have to be out of their flat by Tuesday so, they have moved in with us, bringing boxes and boxes of stuff, which is all over our once, quite tidy home !! Along with that, our daughter moves into her flat in a couple of weeks and decided to sort out all of her stuff so, I have double the chaos !! I don't mind really.....it's lovely to have them all here for a while.
Sweet peas are just the most wonderful flower. They smell divine. I don't have a great deal of success with them as our garden faces north but, I do get a few and, the perennial ones seem to be OK, although they don't have any perfume. Yours look wonderful, as do all of your flowers in your beautiful garden.
Enjoy having your grandchildren to stay and, I know that they will LOVE the 'crap room' !!!! XXXX
Hello June, your Sweet Peas are still beautiful. You have a special green thumb....Have a wonderful Sunday. hugs, sandi

ReplyDeleteMine did not do so well this year....Too much rain at first, then too much heat and now too cold too fast! It was 34 degrees last night!
I love your guest room and had laughed when I saw the name! Is this where I will stay when I visit? I would love it!
Something about a quilted bed that makes you sleep better...don't you think?
Love you bunches!
Donna

That is so funny June...we all have a crap room, a crap closet, and a crap drawer. Triple C! I know about the trying...but it is a hopeless endeavor...I think! But it looks like you pulled it together beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteOh dearest twin June!! How can we have another thing in common. Yes, I have a crap room and I have already stated to my daughter I was cleaning it out this winter. She also got a good laugh. There is one difference. A quick straighten and yours looks beautiful. Add a few sweet pea and you have a photo shoot. It will take me all winter to accomplish that. Sad, boo hoo, my girls(chickens) ate all my sweet peas! Always next year! Take care dear one, June
ReplyDeleteFrom what i can see that room looks pretty good for a crap room! The sweet peas are precious, great photos!
ReplyDeleteCindy

O my! What an abundance of sweetpeas!!! I love sweetpeas but since I have to sow and grow them in pots they never last very long. I think your 'craproom' looks very inviting. I actually wish I had a room for all my 'crap' ;-)

Hi June
ReplyDeleteLove your crap room, it looks so pretty and the sweet peas add just the right touch. You had a magnificent display this year. Sad to see the end of summer and I also have garden chores before the winter weather arrives. Learning how to keep my tender plants alive is a learning curve at which I am not yet too successful! Hoping that those winter woollies can stay in the cupboard for some time longer.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit and have a great week.
Wendy
Your "crap" room looks perfect to me dear June and I am sure the grandkids will love it.. I love your sweetpeas and there are lots of hem there. The smell must be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHve a nice day my friend.

I love sweet peas ~ they were the very first flower I ever tried growing. I was about 9. :)
ReplyDeleteRight now, our cottage looks like the "crap room". Gotta get busy and do some cleaning today. The aspen are gorgeous this year, but we are hearing the s.n.o.w. word for this coming weekend.
Enjoy your flowers while you can, June!
Hugs,
Zuzu
Dear June, love love love your sweet peas. I don't have them until early spring but I need to get the seeds in the ground in the next few weeks so I thank you for reminding me. I forgot last year.
ReplyDeleteI have two crap rooms! One for grown-ups and one for the kids. It's so easy to just close the door in between visits!
Blessings to you,
Julie
Hi June

Hi June,
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at Ashes as I type this. My goodness, she is one gorgeous kitty cat. What a pretty face!
Love this post and I too need to get our guest room in order this winter for a guest coming in December. Yours is gorgeous... I wish mine looked like that!
Have a great week.
Holly
Hi June,
ReplyDeleteYour guest room is beautiful and I would feel like a Princess sleeping here. The sweet peas are so pretty and know how heavenly the smell must be. Also love the chalk board notes.
Isn't it funny when we have a place that all the stuff goes that you don't know where to put it. Sounds a lot like my house.
Enjoy your week and the time with your Grandkids.
Hugs
Carolyn
Hello dear June, your pretty "crap" room looks so welcoming, I am sure your guests and grandkids will love it.. decorated with such lovely Sweet Peas, there can be no doubt.
ReplyDeleteHappy fall days for you and your familiy
Bine
Because I now live in an apartment, I no longer have a "crap" room, June. But I've had a lot of them in the past, so know exactly what you're talking about. You've done a lovely job of making it charming for guests!
ReplyDeleteI still have some crap closets and drawers though!
My father used to call drawers and closets like that peamores. In fact, a bunch of odds and ends in his pockets were called peamores. Where that came from I have no idea. But we still refer to one specific drawer in the kitchen as a peamore drawer.
June, unless one is an absolute neat freak we all have a room like that. I have a couple in fact as we have two houses. And Joe has countless sheds that I refuse to step into and never will. That room is beautiful, love the round table. The flowers are splendid. Our lantana and roses are still blooming but that's it. hugs♥O
ReplyDeleteI think everyone has a crap room, although everyone doesn't have one that's as pretty as yours. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe sweet peas are gorgeous in that pitcher.
I love the name...and I may borrow it though as I may have told you I have a guest/ sewing room too...also known as the catch all room... and have been working on it since this Summer. ALmost there thank goodness as my niece arrives on the 16th.
ReplyDeleteOk off to mulch the garden in the dark....it never ends does it.
Hey I need to plant some sweet peas! Gorgeous!
xx
C
Oh my... don't we all have a room like that! But is this your room in a bad state of "crap?" It's lovely...welcoming and spring like. You know, just get big trash bags (new ones!), fill them up with your lovely "don't know what to do with stuff" and take them to the garage or storage room... go through them on a cold winter's day. If you don't do it by spring... out everything goes!
ReplyDeleteBlessings dear June!
Ann
PS
so love seeing your menagerie of animals when I come visiting! They are all so beautiful!
You ca't be calling this gorgeous room the crap room?! Any guest would feel pampered, it's lovely! And your gardens ... DIVINE!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
Wasn't conference wonderful! What a sweet room to welcome them home! Yes, your sweet peas are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Maryjane
Hello my friend - I haven't stopped by in awhile! Missed you and all your loveliness! Hmm no crap in site in that room - looks pretty with the flowers and the soft linens. Are you getting lots of hot weather in Idaho? I noticed the weatherman mentioned how the temps were super high the other day. Blessings, Angela
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming room! I would love to be your guest!
ReplyDeletetot

Oh June,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful "c**p room". Honestly I don't think there is a single space in your home that looks anything other than lovely and feels totally inviting...The sweet peas are such a special and pretty touch. Hope you are doing well my sweet friend.
Much love,
♥Ana
Hi June,
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous flowers, and even though I don't know what the room looked like before, it sure is a pretty and comfy one now! The perfect guest room...
Maureen
Oh my goodness, from what I can see, that room looks pretty darn cute! I love all the pink and white, it seems so sunny and cozy. Those sweet peas are sooo pretty too. I might have to try those next year :)
ReplyDeleteYou are surrounded by so very much prettiness, June. Cheery colors and lovely designs.. I love your style.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend! xx
"Crap Room." Lol! That's what I need to call my crafting room.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, that guestroom is beautiful. Very warm and inviting.
Kristin
I can't imagine that any room in your home isn't absolutely lovely and welcoming, June. But I admit that our guest room becomes a bit of a dumping ground, too. At least until guests come and then it all gets "put" into the attic.
ReplyDeleteYour sweetpeas are the stuff of dreams. I wish I could grow them but I don't think we get enough sun in most of the garden.
Have a lovely Sunday! xo – g
Good morning beautiful June!
ReplyDeleteIt is always a pleasure to see YOUR BEAUTIFUL profile photo pop up on my comments page my friend! And believe me, you are a great jewel in anyone's crown! THANK YOU for your kind words and I hope that your autumn is splendid out on your wonderful horse ranch!!!!
BIG HUGS! ANita
June this room is gorgeous! Your sweetpeas, and the photos, are breathtakingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE SWEET PEAS...what is the magic formula to make them grow.
ReplyDeleteI have to decide on a good spot, and cultivate it well for some sweet peas next year.
The guest room at my mom and dad's house was always called the Hurricane Room....cause when people would come visit and stay there, she said it looked like a hurricane hit it.
so, I understand the crap room
Your guest room is so beautiful, June! Your grandkids can be very happy to have such a lovely and inviting place to stay. Of course they can be more than happy to have a grandma like you are. I love sweet peas since I was a little girl. They have such a sweet romantic look.
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs to you, my friend,
Julia
Hi June!!...Loving all the beautiful flowers from your yard!!...just swinging by with some love to your blog...have been having some trouble with my log in, so I hope this works...love the bedroom, looks so cheery..the bed is fabulous!! Yes, I have been working on organization for most of this year. I'm determined and making progress!! Hugs to you dear friend...Mary H.
ReplyDeleteJune, I am in love with the bed and the cute table. Your flowers are always beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
Sweet Peas = heavenly indeed and one of my alltime favourites. Their heady perfume is evocative of childhood for me as both my Mother and Grandmother always planted them.
ReplyDeleteI missed out on planting them this year but reveled in yours instead - thank you.
Your guest room looks truly delightful and I can imagine it would be a place of sweet dreams indeed.
Happy weekend x
