Peonies are plentiful in this garden and I am taking full advantage of it.
I love arranging vase after vase of these gorgeous blooms.
To me they are the epitome of romance.
To me they are the epitome of romance.
but in the house as well.
I sold several to a local florist again this year and still have several on the bush,
so I am sure I am not finished taking photos of them yet.
I hope you don't mind if I share a few more in a following post.
We had a downpour this afternoon,
so I hope I still have some in the morning : 0
I love this time in the garden like no other time of the season.
What a glorious romantic flower the peony is!
Oh-June- Your peonies are so very, very gorgeous. They are the one flower that always remind me of my sweet little country grandmother. She never drove and never went anywhere much but she walked about 3 miles to dig up some peonies (from her nearest neighbor) when the neighbor was going into a nursing home. She had 3 or 4 kinds (I don't remember) but they bloomed at slightly different times. It seemed like she had about 3 or 4 weeks of blooms-but I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I can remember thinking of them as "ladies" in full floaty skirts nodding in the wind.
I hadn't thought of that in a long time until I saw your mix of blooms here. Thanks for the memory jogger. Gorgeous images- you have such a way with your photos- I'm jealous (but it's a nice jealousy) xo Diana
such sweetness! I can just imagine how wonderful you home looks and smells right about now...lovely photos June. I hope your heart is feeling a little less heavy as you look around at the awesome beauty of our Lord. take care.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, wonderful! So very beautiful. Every one of these photos is spectacular. I just love that pretty print in the first two pics too. I just can't imagine having so many exquisite blooms. And your home is the perfect place to show them off! Such a pleasure to visit you, June!
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are spectacular and so are your photos, June. I need to plant more, I agree, they are a romantic, beautiful flower. Diane
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are so very gorgeous, dear June. They have the most wonderful shades and I'm in love not only with your flowers but also with your decoration style and your stunning pictures. The wood beam with the peonies in those silver bowls would be an awesome wedding decoration.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday!
Hugs to you,
Julia
Don't we all love peonies...maybe because their bloom time is so short and we appreciate them more. You pictures are amazingly beautiful...I love the ones where they are posed on the slab of wood (wrong way to describe it?!). Yes, the rain makes them look very sad. :)
ReplyDeleteBYW...mishap with the RH feature but I AM in August rather than July! A blogger just got hers in the mail and emailed me that I am famous! lol!
XO,
Jane
June your soft pink peonies are spectacular! I can imagine your home is filled with their lovely fragrance as well.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your luscious garden & Happy July 4th to you & your Family!

Vos photos de pivoines sont magnifiques.
ReplyDeleteLa pivoine est une très belle fleur, si féminine et romantique.
Douce journée
Your peonies are just beautiful...such a soft pink color. Your photos of them are so good--really love the fabric under them in the first few shots. I hope the remaining ones survived your downpour!
ReplyDeleteWow, your pictures are really great. I like the peonies in the wooden beam, it looks spectacular!
ReplyDeleteSending big hugs from Holland! Ingrid
June what loveliness you always share with us- your garden is truly a friendship garden though in a different way that we normally think of one. You share your beautiful flowers with us via your fantastic photography- would love to have you share some of those beautiful peonies physically too! My peonies bloomed but still have some small buds on them- will they open eventually- they seem to be just sitting there doing nothing! Have several plants that haven't bloomed in 3 years and think they are not getting enough sun so have replanted 2 of them. Of course we have a heat wave the day after I do!
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you we had a forest fire here in our area? Our town was on pre- evac status for almost a week- God was so good and changing the wind directions so they could get a handle on it!

Good morning lovely one! Yes, I have to say that next to the specialty roses we have here, the peony has to be my favorite, for the multi-layers of delicate petals, the color, but also for the MIRACULOUS and ingenius way they open up...with the help of ants.
ReplyDeleteYour vignettes are mind-altering, heart-stopping. HAVE FUN IN THE SUN my dear! Anita
SUCH VERY lovely way to showcase those gorgeous peonies! LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH! So so gorgeous. In those sterling silver cups down that board......be still my heart! So so lovely! Keep thise pics coming! I love seeing pics of your garden.
ReplyDeleteTo have such an abundance of peonies is my idea of heaven...alas, I can't grow them in my area and they are my favorite flower. So pretty! Love the way you have displayed and photographed them.
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are so gorgeous and the way you have them arranged is lovely! I love the photo of them in the silver goblets, stunning! I'm sure none of us will mind you sharing as many peonies as you want!!!

I LOVE the idea of the plank of wood going down your table ... gorgeous with the nails and containers of peony. Was this a find or from your property? xo
Such lovely photos, June. The fragrance must be overwhelmingly intoxicating at your house. My white ones smell the best!! But I do love the soft pinks.
ReplyDeleteDon't you wish they were here all summer?
xo
Since I met you, my dear June, I always expect your peonies to bloom and enjoy your most beautiful arrangementes with them. And the most beautiful images as well.

Dearest June, they truly are the most beautiful flowers, but unfortunately I have only one precious plant here in my garden..that however I got from my mother many years ago, and will hopefully follow me also to a new destination, when we in some few years move away from this beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteYour garden must be huge, so filled it is with all the most beautiful and romantic flower busches and plants,-I love how you displayed the silver cups with them on top of the driftwood piece !!!-

Hello June... your Peonies are just stunning!... I love how they look all lined up on the old wooden beam so much!... and yes, this is a favorite time in the garden for sure... would love some of your rain though!... we had bad east canyon winds in the night and it took me several hours to clean my gardens all up this morning... 102 degrees here today... not complaining though!... isn't Summertime the best!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI would like to inquire how you got to the place of such a beautiful blog. I am a mom, my children are yet home, girls 19 and 16 and a 12 year old son. My son is nonverbal, lower functioning, diagnosed on the autism spectrum. I am divorced, work as a nurse. I love creating a home and my abilities to do that are not the same as they once were. I want to keep such parts of my inner life alive.

ReplyDeleteGood afternoon, June! Dear one, neither do I have a clue as to what the "change" from Google Reader will look like...I don't even know what Google Reader is!!!!! I just took the advice of a friend who suggested I give my readers who DO use GR the option of following me on Bloglovin' or via email...OK.....still don't understand, but we'll see....TOGETHER. Have a super evening! Anita

Hi June,
ReplyDeleteI hope those beauties made it thru the rain! A whole house full, beautiful and they must smell amazing! Mine came and went too fast. When I see Peonies I always think of your dried wreath, I hung a few to dry this year, and they are nice, but not amazing like yours.

Sweet June, I love this pretty post! Your peonies are stunning! I love the picture of them all in a roll in silver goblets! Did you get those for your wedding? Looking at yours I regret getting rid of my several years ago.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being in another lovely publication! Your photos are priceless!
Love,
Maryjane
I agree that the peony is one of the most romantic flowers that exist ... shame I'm waiting for years that my plants flourish!
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful, you have so many that they can sell? What luck!
A hug from Italy
Anna
Sweet June,
ReplyDeleteYour stunning photos just make my heart skip a beat. The peonies are nearly breathtakingly beautiful, and your eye for photo styling and editing, just makes me smile!
How fun that you can sell some to your local florist! Don't you love thinking about who might get them??
Once again, the beauty you share has made my day! What a joy, my friend.
Big Hugs!

Living a Peony Dream:))))
ReplyDeleteDear June,
ReplyDeleteSeeing your pretty soft pink peonies today has made my day, thank you.
It is raining outside and turned cold so it was a delight to come and visit you. Will be looking forward to seeing your next post too.
Enjoy your week and your pretty peonies.
hugs
Carolyn
Must be heavenly to have so many peonies in the garden to be able to keep cutting them to enjoy inside the house as well AND to have enough even to sell to a florist. Wish that florist would live somewhere around here though ;) Gorgeous pictures. Can't get enough of them, especially since I have no peonies in the garden and can't find any really in the shops around here. Love the tender colours all your peonies have. So very romantic, you're absolutely right.
ReplyDeleteMarian
Oh June, they are gorgeous and I can almost smell their wonderful fragrance. Our peonies have finished blooming and our daylilies are now in full bloom. Spring has come and gone and summer has arrived once again. I hope you have a wonderful 4th.
ReplyDeleteSandy
Your peonies are SUBLIME!
ReplyDeleteHi June. I adore peonies. I just wish we were able to grow them here in Perth.. Its way too hot. I did the flowers for my brothers wedding a couple of years ago and we had to use imported peonies. It was around 40degrees c on the wedding day. They looked amazing but the next day all were pretty much dead!! such a shame but at least they lasted for the special day! Love how you have displayed them on the rustic wooden beam!! so pretty! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteLaura x
Dear June, I think it has been a great year in the garden for peonies...yours are gorgeous! I know how fleeting they are, subject to wind and rain at a moments notice...I cut mine all in a few days because of threatening rain, and dried them...I hope to do something with them soon...your pics are lovely
ReplyDeletetoo! Hugs to you, N.xo
These are so beautiful! I just LOVE peonies...sadly, most of mine bloomed when I was on vacation this year. Hope you have a happy 4th. xo
ReplyDeleteSigh ...
ReplyDeleteYour peonies are just gorgeous.
Your vignettes look like something out of a dream ...
Hope the rain holds, and the peonies hang around a little longer, just so we can get a few more peeks!
Hugs,
Patti
Your photos are wonderful!! Gorgeous! I love them.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Germany
Rosalie
an absolute slice of heaven!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Your photos are so gorgeous, June! The peony looks so dreamy and lovely. Your work in the garden is like my walking -- helps me sort through problems and think things through. And then sometimes I just enjoy the movement and don't think at all. Right now I have a wrenched back -- so aggravating, so am taking a rest. Hope all is well with you. Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteAhhhh! Those peonies in the little silver goblets are the epitome of prettiness! and... you had so many that you sold to a florist!? I wish i was your neighbor... ;)
ReplyDeleteCindy
Oh how wonderful! I am always so impressed with your amazing photos. The peonies are gorgeous! Hugs Yvonne
ReplyDeleteLove you...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving me some pointers on drying peonies. Alias it is so humid here I think I would have to find another means to dry them. Your roses on your other blog are just stunning!
ReplyDeleteThis is a truly inspiring blog from a heart of a mother. Lovely pictures you have there and I know that it has something to do with the kind of love and care that you dedicated for your son. Truly Peonies are epitome of romance. You must be a loving mom. Your children should be proud of you!
ReplyDeleteHi June,
ReplyDeleteOn my blogroll list I can see a new post called corners and a picture of this lovely frame.. I keep trying to see the pics but I cant open te post.
Do you have any ideas as I would just love to see those pictures.
