Starting about February, I am SO ready for changes in my surroundings.
After a long winter it's nice to freshen things up a bit.
I've been such a lazy blogger and so
I thought I would share some photos of the living room and how it looks today.
I had a great time at the Vintage Whites Market it in Salt Lake City.
I didn't really buy very much...
mostly laces and some smalls. My husband was so relieved when I pulled
in the driveway and he didn't see some huge
armoire or sideboard sticking out of the back of the truck that he would have to
bring into our already full house.
The day before the market we went to Ikea, so we had already
done a good job of filling it up with stuff!
I put blinders on as far as looking at anything of any size at the market and focused on
things to create with or to add interest somewhere in the house.
I also found some pretty china cups and a little satin
drawstring make-up bag. While in Utah, I was finally able to meet the lovely Julie Marie from Idyllhours.
We had a lovely visit!
She was kind enough to take us to a pretty shop called
Madeleine L'Amour in Bountiful that my daughter and I really enjoyed.
I purchased the little chandelier you can see in the background
of the photo above.
Julie is so gracious and is everything she is on her blog and more.
She brought along a beautiful gift and some fresh baked cookies
from a local bake shop that we devoured the minute we got to our hotel.
I wanted to share a collage of her lovely gift.
Thank you so much sweet friend for the wonderful time spent with you and for these
treasures you chose for me.
I also ran into Stacy from Stacy's Shabby Shoppe.
It's great when you are able to finally meet the people that share so much of the
same feelings and loves that you do.
All in all---
the trip to Salt Lake City with my girls was wonderful and can't wait for our next
mother-daughter adventure.
Your pictures are stunning June and your wreath is so pretty! Sounds like you had a wonderful time in Utah! xox

Everything is always so soft and beautiful at your house, June ~ like floating on a cloud. And it sounds like you had a great trip!
ReplyDeleteIs it snowing at your house? It is snowing here ~ already 4" with another 6" expected. I have to remind myself that spring will come in due time... and one of the reasons that I wanted to live here is that the summer heat in the mountains tops out in the mid-80s, so waiting for spring is worth the wait!
I plan on painting some of my larger furniture pieces lighter colors this summer. Perhaps one day we can be floating on a cloud too. :)
Big hugs,
Lin

Hi June, your dried roses speak to all of us. As I have recently planted my first David Austin I have high hopes for pretty roses. I know you had the best day with that darling Julie-Marie. My windows must of had some kind of glare as I have not cleaned them in ages. xoxo, olive

Hi June, i am back, I forgot to mention or ask about your wall treatment. I love the paneled wood feel. I have used a lot of wood siding T-1-11 on projects and was thinking about the wall in my kitchen with this wood used mostly for out-doors sidings and under the roof patio covers and porches.... Is this the wood you used? It really is great looking what ever the wood used. I want to sand some of the roughness down and paint it and hang it in the full sheets. Adding the rustic cottage feel to a boarding wall :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your beautifully inspiring designs.

WOW love your livingroom-its so beautiful !!!!

ReplyDeletedear June
I have such a feeling of peace come over me when I enter into your living space. Your rose wreath is just stunning and it amazes me that the colors hold so very well for so long.
It must be sheer comfort sitting in that chair as the sun washes over your face again as this warming season of Spring comes around for another visit.
Such pretty purchases from Salt Lake City - the blue satin lined drawstring bag sitting next to two such pretty pink china cups and saucers. These little finds are priceless in bringing so much joy to our hearts. They certainly don't always have to be big finds do they?
I think of you now priming yourself to start all of your Spring planting as Winter fades into the background now. I know the joy this will bring to your heart.
Sending much love to you my dear friend. Will email soon!
Suzy
