Watermelon Poppies
It has rained so many days , that I have forgotten what sunshine is. We didn't get any rain today. Not one drop, but it was cold. Only in the 50's. Are you kidding me? The silver lining however, is that I haven't had to drag hoses around. I don't have a sprinkler system, so I do all the watering with a hose and sprinkler. It is a lot of work keeping the garden watered, so the rain has been a blessing. You don't want to be in the garden when I'm dragging hoses around, because when they get hung up on something or get a kink in them, I can swear like a sailor. Oh yes I can, just ask hubs. Nothing is more frustrating to me than setting my water. I don't know why I let it bother me so. I don't swear any other time. (well, unless I stub a toe, or step on one of Landon's legos, or). I don't say real bad words though. My swear word of choice is another word for manure, so it could be worse I suppose. Anyway, we are supposed to have some nice weather for awhile and I'm really looking forward to it. Hubs and I put out the hammocks today in hopes that the weather man is right. I hope you enjoy these pictures from the garden today.
I am finally getting high speed Internet this next week. I hope this helps with the problems I've been having with my blog. I can't add things to my sidebar without freezing everything up and bringing up my blog pages takes forever. I don't know how much will be solved by getting rid of dial-up but I'm hopeful.
Oh June, the peonies are SO lovely...I wish I could grow them. You grow everything so well. What a dreamy garden you have.
ReplyDeleteI use to know that annoying feeling of dragging houses around but we've had a no water outside restrictions since....wait for it...drumroll...1994!!!!! Our town water supply is at 10% capacity and has been that for so many years...I can't remember. We have a couple of tanks but I only hand water with a watering can out of them...so you can imagine how time consuming that is!
I simply love coming to visit you and your beautiful garden. All that hose dragging has paid off. And, your such a busy lady!
Best of luck with your internet, you will feel like a new woman.
Smiles, Angela.
I hope you get a stretch of sunshine now. Your garden is doing beautifully. I love the color of the watermelon poppy= I will have to search for that one!
ReplyDeleteI love peonies-my mid season ones are just coming into bloom.
Enjoy your hammock and sunshine today!
Carolyn
OH MY!!! A site to behold! Those peonies are so beautiful....that Colette Rose.....WOW! What zone are you? We are zone 4...don't think they would survive. And those watermelon poppies..I am FOR SURE getting some for next year. They would look wonderful in my garden. We love the same things........your pictures are just breathtaking! Relax in that hammock today and enjoy....
ReplyDeleteHi June,
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS flowers! You are quite a gardener. I am like you as far as lugging hoses around. No sprinkler system here. AND the dial up internet too! UGH! Somedays it is just fine and other days not so much! Have a beautiful day today!
Blessings~
Such gorgeous blossoms June! You certainly have a green thumb! And thanks for the laugh ...Maybe it's using that "word of choice " that's helping the flowers grow so well :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Beautiful Peonies!! We too have not had rain now for over 24 hrs!! Woo Hoo.... Today promises to be "almost" 80!!
ReplyDeleteHave a Wonderful Day!!
Love,
Marilyn

OH June...what a great post...first I love your beautiful flowers! Gorgeous! And I had to smile about picturing you out in your pretty garden swearing like a sailor at your garden hose...hehe! Glad you are getting some dry days! And, yes...definitely upgrade to high speed! I can't believe you actually don't swear having to deal with dial up...lol! I know I would be! Hope you have a lovely day my dear...as always it's a treat for my eyes here...
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous and I can relate to the watering, we do the same. I hope you are getting some sunshine now. In TN we have been in the 90s and heat index in the 100s with lots of thunderstorms. Everything is faster than dial up, hope the high speed takes care of your problems.

Love and Love the flowers. June, not too good in California, clouds and clouds and my roses are done blooming. I was trying to fill my vase this morning, my head was spinning, not one rose. I hope for sunshine for all of us from now on...Ciao
ReplyDeleteJunieGirl...
ReplyDeleteWe are PRAYING for rain here in Oklahoma. It is sooo dry and my pretty flowers are wilting. Even the ones that crave the sun are softly fading from the heat. I pulled my potted flowers close to the house but the ones in the garden are truly suffering! :(
You will LOVE HI-SPEED internet! It's gonna change your life!

Hi June~
ReplyDeleteAll of your flowers look so beautiful. I know what you mean about hauling a lose around, I have to do the sme thing in some areas and have also been know to use a few words of choice. I wanted to alos see if you were interested in playing along with my "White Wednesday". I know you have a lot of wonderfully white things. If so let me know and I can add you to my list. Also you can add my log on my sidebar to your blog to let people know about it. Enjoy your sunshine today!
Kathleen
Well, if anything you will enjoy your high speed internet. I wouldn't want to go back to dialup. When we first got dialup I thought, "Wow, look at all the time we've waisted waiting for the internet to sign in."
ReplyDeleteYour flowers looks so wonderful, I just love peonies. One of my favorites!
As usual, I'm aghast at the beauty of your flowers, June! The color of these peonies is just spectacular. We are still in the heavy, cool mists up here in New England. Please tell the warmth to head over this way!
ReplyDeleteDial-up? You still on dial-up? Oh girl, you are going to feel like you're in digital heaven with high speed!!! Welcome to the 21st century June Cleaver (just kidding...I just had to)
ReplyDeleteYou see what happens when I miss a couple of post? I get silly with delight! tee hee
I wish you could bottle some of that rain and cool air and send it over here. We are all wilted in the South. It hasn't rained in over 3 weeks and the temps are triple digit with the heat index.
I'd be happy to take pictures of my yard, but it would just be dead grass. Hmmm, that would make a good post...maybe then everyone would KNOW why I'm too drained to be on the computer lately...it's too HOT!
I'm soooo jealous of you! I knew I would be if I showed up here this morning.
...going water what little I have left living,
everything vintage
I love the color of your Watermelon Poppies.
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful flowers june! I hope it warms up for you soon.
ReplyDeleteYou will LOVE that high speed internet. xo Heather
i'm still waiting for summer to stay also, june:) your flowers are simply gorgeous; well-fertilized, no doubt, by your occasional verbal compost...lol:)
ReplyDeleteJune~~The flowers are beautiful...you will love the new speed on the internet. Happy for you! Come by for another visit...trying to get more up, but will be out of town some. Love & hugs, Mary H.
ReplyDeleteHi June,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you stopped by. It's true all this rain has been a nice break from the hose. I'm sure you'll enjoy high speed internet so much better.
Take care,
Carole
OH My!!! As I pick my jaw up off the ground..Your flowers are just the most beautiful I've ever seen...I think I need to borrow your green thumb...Just amazing..
