In the hammock...

  1. Are you for real June? Is this heavenly retreat really in your back yard? I thought you were my friend...why do you make me jealous EVERY TIME I come and visit?

Now I'm all ruffled, I think I'll just lay here and rest. Some tea would be nice. Oh and these are my favorite magazines...I just love Country Living, how did you know? These linens are soooo soft and smell so sweet...or is that the lovely flowers you just cut?

Whatever it is, I'm feeling better now. Thank you for the much needed rest...you are still my friend and I just love coming to visit!

I'll share the hammock with your other friends...NEXT please...

  2. Okay, so hammocks are the one thing that when I'm in one, I can feel pain leave certain parts of my body. My old TCM advisor told me it was the ropes hitting certain nerve points and relieving the negative energy. Now, I don't know a lot about negative energy but I know it made me feel good.

    Love your setup.

  4. Hi June!!
You hammock looks so comfortable & inviting!!
We once had an old fashioned family doctor that said to me when he was treating me for exhaustion after my Mother passed.. "Be kind to yourself. The nicest thing you can do for yourself is take a short nap. It re-energizes you." Know what?? It does....
If you have not visited my blog yet come over as I am having a 3 day quickie give-away!
    Love,

  7. May I come over? I just gave my son our hammock but it isn't as romantic as yours, my friend. What an elegant backyard set up.

And, orange carpets (Rebecca's post) you betcha! Orange couches, orange woodwork, orange kitchen, orange linoleum ... ark! I think I was 'out to lunch' on that era of decorating ... I about choked the other day when I saw orange furniture in a store coming back into vogue ... never again!!

  11. I have to agree with what everyone said, that hammock does look magical, and it looks inviting in every sense of the word. And those colors, the soft pastels that you used, I feel like I want to just jump in and let the stress ease out of my weary bones right this minute!! And Rebecca said it so right, your talent amazes me too, you just seem to know the exact things to match with each other and have it come out perfect on the other side!!! I love the little poem you added at the end, how true is that!! If I ever layed down for a nap in your delightful hammock, I fear hubby would never get me out of it again for the whole rest of the summer!! Thanks for your comment on my shoot-out post this weekend. You know how much I love it when I see your name in the comment list!! Sunshine and a comment from you, two things that i treasure in a day!! take care and have a great weekend, Debby

  17. June, I was just thinking about hammocks the other day, remembering when I was a little girl and would laze away for a while in the one my grandmother had. Hers wasn't so pretty like this one, but it brought back some wonderful memories!

    Have a great weekend! ~Lori

  21. Dear JunieGirl (again),

    Thank you for your visit...

Just had to come back and comment again on the comment you left on my post about owning a shoppe...

NEVER AGAIN! Not a big one anyway and not one I have to physically work. Everyone out there seems to want their own store...think it will be fun and romantic like your girl and I. The reality is this...IT IS WORK! SOOOOO MUCH WORK! Unless you have gobs and gobs of money and do it as a hobby (without the pressure of having to earn $$$) it ends up becoming a weight around one's neck. I loved it on one side and simply hated it on the other... :(

    See...we think sooo much alike!

  29. Good evening, June ~ Our pergola's over the upper & second terraces out back are our evening sits. There we watch the birds zoom in for dinner ... & enjoy our gardens & the evening air. Sometimes in the morn we will sit there also to watch all the squirrels running hither & tither ... they love to run up & down the trees & zip thru the gardens ... cheap entertainment ... chuckle. TY for popping by today ... I love the visit. TTFN~ Marydon
