Roses and delphinium...and a thank you to you all!

I wanted to share a little of what has been keeping me from my blog so much lately.

I am making new beds in the garden right now and it is taking up a huge amount of time
and it has kept me from visiting all of your wonderful blogs for the past week.

Soon things will be slowing down and I will get back to doing something besides gardening.
But for now, I am pretty much living in my dirty garden clothes.

Never fear...I do take a bath every night and first thing in the morning I look pretty clean...
but then it's downhill from there.

This is my hobby. This is my passion.
This is what I live for in the Summer.

Too bad I can't look good doing it. LOL!

The pictures above of the gazebo and roses, I took last night.
But the pictures from here down I took last week, but didn't have a chance
to post them.
The delphiniums are now finishing their bloom time. These photos were taken when
they were at there peak.

My favorite delphiniums to grow are the Pacific Giants.
There are very tall and stately in the beds.

They always make me wish that they lasted longer.

Here are the views walking up the front walk to the pergola covered porch.

A sweet little perennial foxglove.

Hydrangeas in a concrete pot.

This view below is a view of the front of the garden from the road.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your well wishes on the studio being
published. You are all so supportive and wonderful to me.
I have enjoyed reading all the lovely messages you have left for me.
I feel so blessed to have you all in my life and be able to connect through this
awesome thing called blogging.
I LOVE meeting all the amazing women who
love the same things I love, feel the same things I feel,
and want the same things out of life that I want.

I will be gone a few days and will catch up with you all the first of the week.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Summer. Isn't it going by so fast?
I have to squeeze every bit out of it...because we sure have a short one here
in my corner of the world. Soon we will be gathering wood
to get us through the long Winter.
Yikes!!! I hate the thought!

  4. Your garden pictures are lovely. I will be looking forward to getting the Where Women Create Magazine. I too love to garden but do not give my lovely flowers the attention that they deserve, as I am working full time. I do enjoy every moment outside in the summertime.

  5. June..your garden is so pretty and we can tell you spend alot of time working in it..I don't know what you put on the soil but it loves it. Here in Dallas with 100+ degree weather it is all we can do to keep our flowers watered. I hate to see the water bill next month...lol..I just came back from the nursery getting more hanging baskets (don't know what I was thinking) but I thought I needed more...It is time for the chicks to get their treats before bedtime..tonight they get cold watermelon..I have to keep them cool also...Hope you have a great weekend an looking forward to you getting back to the blog...Vera

  6. Squeeze every sunlit minute into your garden - the winter is long and damp and full of garden dreaming - your work, the perfume of the flowers, the colours, the feel of the soil are all material for those winter dreams.

  8. Hey there June, remember me?
Yep. I'm your sweet little friend from the South who has been a VERY bad visitor (to everyone) lately.

Having free time has NOT been an option for me so this is really the first time I touch my computer in almost 11 days. I was having terrible "June withdrawals" so you were the first place I ran to this evening!!!!

And what do I read??? OMG you are going to get published!!!!!
    C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S!!!!!
Your studio just took my breath away (as all of your surroundings do) and yes...I too say sit back and soak it all in!!!! :)
Girl...you are AMAZING and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving person!!!! (not even to me! haha) Wooo hooo! Now I can go tell everybody that I have a famous friend!!! ;) Oh June, does that make me famous by association???? (I'm bowing to you dear June) tee hee!!!!

I wish I were walking with you in your garden right now. I know NOTHING about flowers and I would love to hear you tell me about them :) Your heaven is beautiful girl. Your love for your garden just radiates through your beautiful photos.

aaaah...I'm starting to feel better. My "June withdrawals" are starting to subside :)))

Congratulations girl...I'll be the FIRST in line to buy the WWC issue!!! It's going to be an amazing experience for you. You've GOT to share ALL of the details with me!!!! Promise? However, I'm warning you...if Jo is able to go meet you...you WILL fall in love with her. She will not want to leave your beautiful home. If that happens (which I know it will), call me and I'll take the first flight over there and have fun with ya'll too!!!!!!!

    Yes.
    I'm feeling MUCH better now...
    Love You!

It is so nice to know that you enjoy gardening as do I ... my special place with God & just me! Your gazebo is sweeeeeT!!

We just got our arbor up & I ordered my climbing rose today, the nursery didn't have any left, boo-hoo! I may put clematis on the other side & let them intermingle ... have you ever done this?

I do look forward to that cup of tea & a walk with you, one day, over your gorgeous grounds.

    Have a lovely PINK summer's weekend ~

  38. Beautiful images of your flowery garden of heaven...

Hi June, I bet it takes a lot of work keeping a garden and having it looks so superb. Now do you do all the work yourself? or do you have help? Was most of your flowers already there when you moved in? Look at me with all the questions.... sorry about that. Anyways If I wasn't renting I know I would be out there all day... I love to create when It comes to landscaping and using different plants and flowers making an oasis of pure beauty. Give me land and I'll turn it into something magnificent. I surely miss that the most after we lost it all during some rough times years ago.

Much Love & Hugs to YOU!

  47. Hi June,
The flowers are beautiful and so very tall. Do you stake your delphinium once the breezes start up? My foxgloves do well but the few times I've tried delphinium, they seem to get knocked over by our breezes. After seeing your photos, I will have to try them again next year. I'm with you, loving spending time outdoors and can't get enough. My home & website are suffering because of it, but it will change soon just like you said... not going to think about it yet. Happy days in the sun to you!

I had to laugh when you wrote that you do indeed wash up every night. Last year, at my neighbor's wedding...(granted, we live in the country so our neighbors are seperated by fields of corn) my other neighbors of TEN YEARS, asked how I knew the bride and groom ,they looked at me very strange when I told them we were neighbors. They went on to say that they have only ever seen me with my hair up, covered in dirt!!!They had no idea who I was!!!!

  54. Hello Miss June. Your gardens are so beautiful and I really do understand short growing seasons. We lived in the mountains for 15 years. Very short spring, summer, fall. I now live in the desert, however I have beautiful tall, short, textured, variety, green, red, all kinds of trees around my house, what with mine and all the neighbors. We have only 1/3 of an acre but it is wonderful. My yard has so much potential. This is the first summer I've really been able to work in it. I'm almost satisfied with the front. Next year I'll do some things in the back.

Are you going to get to come to Utah to visit your family? I hope to be able to share some of your time.

I am so excited for you winning. Everything you do is beautiful. It couldn't have happened to a better person.

Enjoy your days in the garden.

I actually found the Pink Diamond hydrangea you recommended at the nursery for less than 10 dollars! Thrilled about that...it's small...but still.....and the Hubbs bought me TWO Limelights for my birthday. :-) Ahhhh.... Can't wait to get them in the ground! Thanks so much for the help in that department.

  79. Good morning sweet June! Your visits are gentle and comforting....I appreciate so much when readers can see what I am trying to say....and oh, how we need to celebrate the joys of maturity and what is found beneath the patina of our time on earth. Experience, pains, joys and wisdom...it is treasure. I hope you are well, and enjoying this wonderful season. Soon I will be getting back to my classroom with a whole new crop of youngsters that I will enjoy watching grow. Have a beautiful weekend, Anita

  81. Mom,
You know, I don't stop by your blog nearly as often as I should. Tonight I put my children to bed and the first thing I did was came to your blog for inspiration. I was watching a talk by Jeffrey R Holland about "good things to come" It was about a young family trying to make there way across the country and there car kept breaking down. It seemed that this young family couldn't catch a break. They had no money, no food and really no idea what lay ahead. Elder Holland looks back at that time in his life and says, "don't quit. Keep going. Some good things come soon, some come later, and some don't come until heaven. However, they do come. I look back at our struggles as a family growing up and how you and dad probably felt like that family many times. I am grateful that you kept going and didn't quit. And just look at the blessings that came. Some came immediate and some felt like they would never come. And just look, you now have your own little slice of Heaven. I love you mom and dad.
    love always,
    me(squeeze)

  82. Dearest June,
I had to come back and tell you how much I love seeing your gorgeous garden. Last week Hubby & I drove down the mountain to the "big city" and I purchased some yellow foxglove from the nursery. My fingers are crossed that they will make it up here! :)
    Hugs,
    Zuzu

  90. June,
Oh sweetie, just look at the comments. People are so drawn to you, can you believe it? 92 comments. Of course 50 were from Jodie! I think it's safe to say that girl loves you. Maybe she's trying to get in good for when we come visit. You know she wants to stay in the little cabin in the woods. I don't care tho, I'll take the new (about to be famous) studio. I've been so busy with the kids birthday (can't believe their turning 5), school starting & all that goes with it. Vacations. Wew, I'm pooped. But soon fall will come, school will start & Lisa will be back to stalking June! Lisa
