I would love to show you around the garden today.
In August, the garden takes on many different
colors and textures.
It took me a long time to get color to last through the season here.
In Spring and early Summer the garden would be awash in color, and then
would go through a period of very few blooms at all for a short while.
I've been able to plan better through the years, and now we
enjoy color almost constantly all season long.
Tall garden lilies and roses
Trumpet lilies
(taller than me)
Daylilies and Annabelle hydrangea
The monarda is keeping the bees and butterflies happy.
and giving beautiful color to the August garden.
I love this clematis on the driveway fence...
Love old garden spray nozzels.
Thank you for walking around parts of the garden with me today.
I so enjoy your company!!!
See you soon...for more blooms.
(and a little garden tea)
Very, very beautiful. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteDearest June,
ReplyDeletenow I have not announced myself already very long. With me just this is bloggern a little more quietly... my children the summer holidays have.
I am so enthusiastically from your garden.
It is a true eye-cacher in every season.
I send you the favourite greetings from Bavaria,
warmly,
Elke.
Pretty, pretty June!! I was just thinking about you today and decided I needed to check in with you and see how you are!! Glad you posted so I know you are okay!! lol
ReplyDeleteHugs~
It's beautiful June. I love geraniums the most. Over the year Dean and I spent so much money in plants and between gophers and heat nothing last. The only flowers that we enjoy most of the year is geranium, "the rose of the poor". I am glad you are in blogland today. Ciao Rita
ReplyDeleteJune, your gardens should be in the magazines, beautiful. Thank you very much for the tour. I too am in the time when not much is in bloom, but then at the end of August all of the fall flowers start to show their true colors. I hope you are enjoying the rest of your summer.
ReplyDeleteHi June -

Thanks for your thoughts on your August garden, June. I have some of my monarda in the wrong place so I'm going to move it into the sun. More lilies, too. I love your lilies, they're gorgeous. In fact your garden is absolutely luscious, a lot of work I know but it's really spectacular. Diane
ReplyDeleteOh June! It's always such a pleasure to get a look at your garden! I'm so glad you shared with us some of the other things you have in your garden besides flowers this time. It's fun to see how you accessorize your outdoors... gorgeous! Love all the chippy painted stuff. ;o) All of your flowers are beautiful! I love geraniums. Mine bloom straight through from spring to fall.
ReplyDeleteAs always... thanks for the wonderful inspiration, June!
Hugs ~ Jo :)
so very lovely june! thanks for brightening my day!
ReplyDeleteOh June. This was wonderful! I would just love to have a piece of property like yours. We had a smaller version at our old house, and I worked in it all the time! And then moved here - along with the snakes and I don't do much gardening any more. Do you have snakes where you are? They just scare the bejeepers out of me, and I would die if one turned out to be a rattler, which is a very good possibility. So ! NOPE! Not here. I'm counting the months until we can move again. And I can have old windows and roses like yours. Sigh. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteLoved this. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!!
HUGS!! Karen
Dear June,
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love taking a stroll around your beautiful garden.......it is so lovely. I have an urn exactly the same as yours...the white, rusty one. You are a brilliant gardener and you should be so proud of it. It takes a LOT of work to get it like that. Just divine and it is a joy to see photographs of it through the seasons. XXXX
Hi June,
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is that photo with the old nozzles. I have one here and a couple old sprinklers too I purchased years ago... can't seem to find them around here anymore. Your garden is beautiful and huge too. I was thinking about you the other day when I heard they were rounding up wild mustangs here the other day... thought if I just had lots of land like June I'd have them live with moi. Gee my hubby would love that (actually, I think he would). Oh to have all that beautiful land, what a blessing! Okay... now that I've written a book I'd better say good-bye. You always share such inspiring photos. Thank you!
Happiness to you!
xo~Tracie
Hi June,
ReplyDeleteYour garden is just gorgeous in August... not suffering from the harsh summer one bit! Thriving and beautiful. I also love looking at all your precious animals on your sidebar. I just think that Ashes is such a lovely kitty... one of the sweetest faces I've ever seen.
Hugs,
Holly
Your garden is stunning!! All the love and care you put into it shows, June. You're an inspiration! :-)

June...if you saw our garden(s) you would FAINT! Everything is dead and brown and hay looking. Oklahoma is soo blistering hot all of my flowers have DIEDed and are suffering. I'm ready to bring a bulldozer in and replant in a few weeks. Sooooo SAD!
ReplyDeleteI'm dreaming of a garden like YOU HAVE! YES I AM!
Love to you~
Rebecca
Hi June,I am sure modivated by what you have done in your garden. This is the first year I've done some serious gardening. I juct came from the nursery. I bought 4 purple pin cusions and a metal trellas. I'm very excited.

I LOVE to see your garden.. because it's the same climate area as I have.. and most gradens I see that are this lovely.. are back East! Way to design!
My favorite thing... Your gazebo.. and the large window or French Door.. with the flowers growing through! Love it! Keep enjoying it every minute for me too!!
Like everyone else, simply beautiful. My lilies are almost done but my roses are still in bloom. I need to work on a few more blooms for late summer.I'm already planning for next year, that is if I don't move my tent into your garden, hee-hee! I would so love to know what kind of camera you have. Of course it helps to have talent, which I'm lacking in photography. Hugs and enjoy!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful June ~ I enjoyed looking round your August garden :-)
ReplyDeleteI had some inspiration today. I am going to blow up all your photos, print them on ginormous waterproof fabric and hang them in front of my concrete block walls. Do you think anyone would be able to tell it was not real? hmmmm?
ReplyDeleteYou won't snitch my friend, now will you? :-0

Hi June,
ReplyDeleteyou have lots of beauty in your August garden. The days are still beautiful here but there is a hint of fall coming so I want to enjoy the garden as much as possible.
The beebalm is a lovely addition to your garden and I love to watch the hummingbirds it attracts.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos.
Carolyn
All I can say is BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteOf course that's not all I'll say. How I would love a garden like yours. It has to bring you much joy as you look out enjoying all the color and fragrances your garden brings.
Beautiful pictures June!
Debbie
You are more than cute, June! Thank you for your heart-felt comment. You're crushin' on my garden shed? Crushin' is a word we use around here a lot (not by hubby's choice). Have you seen The Note w/Genie Francis? I think you have. Have loved her for years, even been told we look a bit alike... I'll tell you about that another time though ;)
ReplyDeleteAbout not measuring up and the pre-fab issue, you are a silly lady. We women are too hard on ourselves, we want to be everything to everyone and be the best at it all. We live in a tiny (oops, petite) house and I was feeling the same about not measuring up. It's time we women give ourselves a break! Let's start here... I say we women start crushin' on ourselves, okay?
Would love to say hello to your horses and tell them about the wild mustangs~
xoxo~Tracie
I cannot imagine Heaven being any lovelier!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine myself strolling thru your garden....and I'd be good and not pick a single flower.....well maybe one of two.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful June.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful garden, all the bright shades seem to be so right at the end of summer, a prelude to autumn. Thank you for sharing this heavenly haven.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely your garden grows, a gift from Nature and the loving hands of its owner.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the lushness that inspires ones soul...

Dearest June, thank you for the stunning tour of a fading but unforgettable glory of flowers. They certainly tell a story and one along the lines of my post for this past week....ENJOY THE WEEKEND! Anita
ReplyDeletethat was the prettiest garden tour! I just love seeing your gorgeous pictures. Thanks so much for the nice comments on my blog.....you are so sweet....
ReplyDeleteyour garden should be featured in a magazine...so so lovely!
It's gorgeous, June!!! Are you in zone 5? You have such a wonderful variety where you live.
ReplyDeleteI read recently that the zones have changed, and we are now in zone 5. So as a little experiment, I have planted lavender, foxglove and delphinium in with all the native wildflowers in my little foundation garden - fingers crossed they will make it through the winter!
I look forward to your next tour, dear friend!
Zuzu
Hi dear June. I am late in commenting but I tried this morning and I couldn't get there. Your garden is the most beautiful I ever saw. All you colours do coordinate beautifully. They are all favorites. Maybe the one that strikes me the most is the purple clematis. And you say this is just a part of your garden. You must live in a park. :))
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend June.
Hugs
My dear June,
ReplyDeleteyour graden i such a wonderful paradise..........it looks like an English country garden and it´s full of beauty and romance!!!!!! Have a lovely weekend and i thank you so much, for your sweet comments,

June, I can honestly say that I had never once given old hose nozzles any thought. And I can honestly say that you do actually have a point and they look beautiful how you have shown them. And this is why I just love having you in my life. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses and lilies, and a wonderful gazebo.
ReplyDeleteHi sweet June, As always I enjoyed the walk around your garden a lot. Your flowers are gorgeous and I also love all the rusty elements you have added and your pretty gazebo.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Hugs to you,
Julia
Be still my heart! Your garden is nothing short of amazing, June!!!! Hope I will have something like that one day- as for now, you inspired me some paintings ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Monicax.
Very very gorgeous indeed, I love the way you keep getting so many colours in your garden - we have certain times of the year when there are hardly any colours :-(
ReplyDeleteJune, your exquisite garden photos just make my heart beat faster...they are just so heartbreakingly beautiful! You and Carolyn at Aiken House & Gardens have the most beautiful and dreamy gardens I have ever seen in my whole entire life and that includes my HUGE collection of Country Garden magazines. I think they should contact you and Carolyn for a photo spread!
ReplyDelete...wow!...pretty sure I can smell the lilies!...beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can always count on your my friend to share such loveliness. What a delight to visit your garden..filled with such love. Have a great weekend ... filled with all the peace that your garden brings.
ReplyDeleteJune, your gardens, your pictures and words are just beautiful! The flowers are just breathtaking. I feel very special that you share your magic place with all of us.
ReplyDeleteJune,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your amazing garden all winter long. Someday I will see them in person, I promise. (woo, that sounds like a scary stalker threat) I promise to call first. I'll make you a deal. You let me & Jodie come visit & stay in the cottage & you can come to Texas & we'll play & shop for days. My garden is so sad right now. I actually took pictures awhile back & was so proud of my one hydrangea bush & puny rose bush. I even managed to cut 2 little bouquets. Now the darn thing is fried up like an over cooked pork chop. You'd cry. Weeds everywhere. with it being 105 I just don't care about getting out there to care for it anymore. There's always next year, right? Lisa
Just LOVE walking around your garden with you, June.
ReplyDeleteOh so "June" looking as usual which is loveliness itself!
ReplyDeleteI do love that picture with the spray nozzles! I have a few of those that I must get out and display now!
bee blessed

Hi, June,
ReplyDeleteI will be right over to sip some tea with you and enjoy that gorgeous garden, dear friend~You have truly found the secret to lovely color all through your growing season. Have the happiest of weekends~love and hugs~Vicki
I am now 100% convinced that you live on an ESTATE...oh my gosh it's so very, very beautiful there....the grass is so green...and looks soft like you could walk barefoot on it...and it looks like "real" grass...by that I mean not "St Agustine Grass" like we have here in Texas...YUCK...which in reality...are weeds...but very heat tolerant.
ReplyDeleteWhat a JOY it must be for you to
live exactly where you are.
GOD BLESS YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR HOME.
Rose
Dear June, thank you for sharing your beautiful garden!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week,
Hugs, Yvonne

ReplyDeleteIs this possible?
All of your flowers are gorgeous! The color combination is perfect! It makes me feel that I am a princess when ever I will walk in a garden like yours. The trumpet lilies are the most beautiful for me.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that is a house garden? While I am looking at the pictures , I think that is a garden park or something! So spacey and well-managed! The flowers are also so beautiful! Would love to pay a vist! LOL. More photos please!~
ReplyDeleteThose are really gorgeous! I can’t believe that there is a garden like that. It is just like a garden in an enchanted castle. I love the trumpet lilies! It is really big and the color is cute. It really made me envy and a fan of the gardener.
