Where I create...

Thank you Karen for hosting another Where Bloggers Create this year.
I am happy to be able to share photos of the studio I have in my backyard.

I love that my son built the huge cupboard for me for a Mother's Day
gift a couple of years ago.
I covered the front with white burlap and I use it
as a huge inspiration board that is ever-changing.
On the inside I store all of my fabrics and some
of my supplies.

I usually pin things to it that either inspire me or supplies I have purchased for a
certain project I want to make soon.
I find that if I have ideas in front of me, I am more likely to actually
get them made sooner than later.
It's like a 'little nagging board'.

I also pin things that friends have given me or things I
have found that I just find too pretty to put away like some
of the trims and laces I find.

I wish my photos would have turned out better, but it was raining today when I took them.

 always some magazine clippings

The loft comes in handy for extra junk.

This old dresser is my craft table. I like to stand to work on collages
and  many sewing projects and it is the perfect height.
I keep most of my supplies in it's drawers as well.

I just found the old rusty, chippy medicine chest.
It won't be staying here, but will probably hang on one of the walls
to hold more supplies.

A little of the laces I keep in glass.
I have many. many more jars of the stuff in the cupboards too.

I wonder what I'll do if I ever run out of all the laces I have.
I don't think it is ever going to happen with all the stuff I have stashed over the years.

each basket holds a separate project and all of the supplies to make it
sad, but true

another cupboard filled with supplies and laces

I like my ladies that hang above the french doors

every tabletop is covered
every drawer is full
every cabinet is crammed to the gills

sometimes this place is chaos and I have to get in and purge

some hearts that need finished before I will let myself start on anything new

and a pretty little 'faith' charm given to me by a friend
who thinks I can do it  : )

sure looks like chaos to me!!!

Thank you for stopping by to see where this blogger creates!
Now I'm off to see some more creative spaces

  6. Hello sweet June
This is a total reflection of you dear friend. What a delightful little studio - it looks like it is just one step out into your glorious garden.

I love the way the light comes through the window and how it lights up your beautiful glassware and jars full of buttons.

What a beautiful gift from your son that amazing hession covered cupboard in serving many purposes for you whilst displaying so many special treasures!
It has such a lovely relaxed shabby feel that displays your collections so
    perfectly.
I can imagine you spending some precious time in there creating and just staring out into the garden.

Thank you June for sharing this piece of magic with us.

    Love and hugs,
    Suzy

Needless to say my sewing and craft room went bye bye! Sewing machine in dinning room, fabric in my closet as if there was room, Container of supplies tuck here and there. CAN I MOVE IN?????? Oh well, this to shall pass. Positive, I have purged and look how organized my creative room will be when I get it back! Here's to a great summer day!

Beautiful... elegant.... and calming. It's a spectacular space.

  25. Hi June, I had written one senctence when the power was gone. Let's see if it stays long enough that I can finish my comment now. Maybe I should type faster, LOL.
You have such an enchanting place to create. I love the dark floor and the contrast of it against the light colored furniture. You are surrounded by lots of pretty, cheerful things and designs. The mixture of white and pastels is beautiful. I love your jars and silver dishes filled with laces and other yummy things. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous place again with us.
    Have a great weekend :-)!

  27. I've looked at a number of these posts, June, but yours touched me in a way that is very hard to describe. You see, I took a very close look at all your lovely bits and bobs and realised that we share a love for many of the same things - and that I have rubbermaid 'pod' boxes full of similar treasures. What I don't have is a place to create. It makes me a little sad that I spend so much of my life working and then just keeping up with this place. What would it take to stir me to take a corner for some creativity? I don't know, but I'll be thinking about it.
Thanks for this - so very beautiful.

  89. Bonnie from LouisianaJuly 19, 2012 at 10:55 AM

June, I have just finished reading your blog from beginning to end. Your pictures of your flower gardens have given me joy beyond words. So many of the beautiful flowers you show in your pictures take me back to time spent with my Mother, bringing back armloads of Lilacs and Peonies for her to spread through the house. I have enjoyed seeing so many of the older types of flowers that people don't seem to plant much any more.. Lilies of the Valley, Poppy's, Peonies, Lilacs, your gorgeous Crabapples... Oh my, I can smell them all. I am an Ohio transplant to Louisiana, and so many of those lovely plants cannot be grown in the extreme south Gulf coast where I am. Lots of those trees need more cold than they can get down here. So, I am enjoying the sights of your beautiful gardens. It is so obvious that you love being out there. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed your photos. I have also enjoyed your stories of your family.. God bless your family and your dear Angel son.

  99. Thank you dear for stopping by my little creative space. I saw yours and I wanted to move right in. It reminds me of my mother's craft supply. I used to love digging through her boxes and drawers looking for a scrap of lace or a pretty button to use for a doll dress. My dad had a great space too, he always had a scrap of wood that made great doll furniture. I am going to borrow your great idea of having a container for one single craft project so I can have everything I need at one time. I hope you are enjoying your summer.

  106. Hi June,
I have so enjoyed my visit to your lovely studio. Every inch and detail is beyond wonderful and I am inspired by many things you share. Love the white burlap on your cupboard for your inspiration board. That is something I have wanted to add to mine just did not have time before the party. Maybe next year.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment. So wonderful to meet you and now a happy follower too.
    Blessings to you,
    Celestina Marie
