The leaves have been falling steadily in the garden and so it is now time
to get the rakes out. All week has been spent cutting back all the perennials
that need it and doing a little weeding in the beds.
to get the rakes out. All week has been spent cutting back all the perennials
that need it and doing a little weeding in the beds.
The leaves have been truly brilliant this year.
The golds and reds are beautiful out in the garden and the weather
has been perfect this October.
A little crisp during the days with cold nights.
After I took these photos a few days ago I almost took the hammock down
to store it over for winter.
I'm not sure what it was that distracted me from the chore but I am so
glad it did because 3 of the grandchildren were here on Sunday and they
played forever in it.
As you can guess---it's no longer covered in leaves : )
This is what it looks like from my bedroom window.
I've written before how much I love looking out of these windows to the garden
and counting my blessings. I never tire of this daily ritual.
It seems to center me.
It's one of my many forms of meditation.
how can ever make room in our lives for more?
enables me to see even more beauty in all of my surroundings the rest of the day.
It truly is one of the best times of my day.
My thankful time.
Speaking of thankful....
The colors this fall have been so beautiful.
in the Fishcreek drainage.
It is the summer pasture for our horses and it is also where my little shack is.
If you look to the far right side of the photo below you can barely see some red in the trees
and that's my own little place.
This property is forty acres of pasture and woods and was once owned by Dale's grandfather
and then later by his great aunt Lib.
Because of the zoning laws in our county we haven't been able to build a good
sized cabin and can only build things under a specific square footage (small)!!! but I would like to build myself another little teeny little structure here and hand my little shack over to the men in the family.
-it's the red you see through the aspens-
my daughter and I painted it red last year and it looks so pretty in the snow with the
white bark of the bare aspens around it
It's a favorite fishing spot for many fishermen in the summer.
This road (the West Fork road) splits our place in two and gets
quite a workout in the summer, fall and sometimes winter when the ice fishing is good.
so to get into our place in winter is usually by snowmobile.
The horses will be coming off the pastures this week and brought home to where we live to be wintered.
Below is the north side of the road and a lovely view of the mountains.
This side has about thirty acres of the total amount of the property.
I love this view, but I favor the more wooded parts of the place that are
on the other side of the road.
In a couple of days the little witches, goblins, faeries, princesses, batmans, vampires, bunnies
or whatever costumes the little ones come up with will be at the door
for their treats and I will be ready for them.
((nope---I haven't eaten all the candy---YET))
I love seeing all the children of our town on the night of Halloween.
It's another joy of small town living.
Happy Halloween
I bought a new broom for the night!
The leaves are very poetic in the high bowls.

Just stunning dear June... always love seeing your beautiful countryside... especially in Autumn... I do the same thing you do... gaze out of my window at the beauty in my gardens and the hills just to the east of me and count my many blessings as well... you are right... it is meditation for our souls... I also love your little red shack... what a beautiful little place to retreat to... Happy Halloween to you... we are ready for the little goblins as well, and yes, I DID have to go buy more candy (Jack ate more than I did, really)... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful June!! You do fall just as lovely as spring and summer!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
melinda
Oh glorious, gorgeous, gold indeed June! I am taking all these photos in with such delight. You are truly blessed to live with these vistas, this beautiful land, right out your door. No wonder you feel thankful as you look out your bedroom window. It is good advice - to reflect on the blessings that surround us before we ask for more. I adore the leaves in your urn inside, too. Now I'm going outside to gather some up - inspired by you!
ReplyDeleteGolden gorgeousness!! Wow... I can only "imagine" and see through your beautiful pictures what it must be like. Ahhh... Happy Fall and Halloween!
ReplyDeleteOh my June, and here I was enamored with your main property, now you show me this?! Really gorgeous, and so peaceful! Enjoy your visiting witches, bunnies, and batmen, sadly we don't get any since we live on a dark and private lane...but I do miss having them!
ReplyDeletexo Kat
You live at a wonderful place on earth, June...the yellow leaves in your garden have stolen my heart (this summer, the USA has stolen my heart). In a few years we hope to visit an other part, maybe the west side of your country.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your wonderful autumn pictures, I like them so much!!
xxx Ingrid
Truly...pure eye candy. I just love your photography and styling.
ReplyDelete♥Linsey
Absolutely gorgeous ! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart...such a breathtaking view!! Heaven on earth truly.
ReplyDeleteI do fancy your "bouquets" of golden leaves...the cool, crunchy, fragrance of Autumn clinging to each lovely leaf. Yummm.
Wishing you the beauty of the day...
Warmest hugs,
Judy
Oh June, you are so surrounded with beauty, in both places you can call home, dear.
ReplyDeleteYour collected leaves in the white urn, looks so beautiful, and especially lovely, with the white pumpkins resting on some, too.
And the view from your window, is a feast, now in yellow, but I`m sure every season of the year.
Your horses have the most amazing spot, to spend their summer, in that wonderful place surrounded of the aspens looking fantastic in their fall dress.
Thank you for all the beauty- and hugs.
Dorthe
Those Autumn colour changes are really extraordinary! Love it! Thanks for sharing the beautiful area you live in with us again June.
ReplyDeleteMarian
What a gorgeous treat you are sharing June, your property is truly a little piece of heaven on earth!
ReplyDeleteAs for the candy...I think I need to buy more!
Oh June, I appreciated every word and photo in this post! I showed it to my little Emma (she's 6 years old) and she couldn't believe that we live in such different places..we live on the other side of the world, but beauty is everywhere..
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for sharing

ReplyDeleteI love love your fall garden and i can,t believe your have so much land around you, beautiful Gardens and mountains. We live in such a small country with no. Mountains at all. What a wonderful life you live.hugs from Riet on her ipad
June, Your pictures are all so beautiful. As a friend of mine used to say...so much eye candy.:):) I bet the grandkids about wore that hammock out. I would have loved hearing their laughter. Blessings to you and yours. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to spend your days. Do you think you could rent that little red building out for a month this summer:) Thanks for sharing! Jan
ReplyDeleteThis is an enchanting land and you are so lucky to be surrounded by such natural beauty June! The photos from the interior are also charming and I like watching them one by one...
ReplyDeleteMother Nature is spectacular! Those golden leaved tree's are so gorgeous. What a beautiful part of the country you live in!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's very important to count our blessings and appreciate all the loveliness we have around us:)
oh my those trees and leaves, how amazing. I would have called them birch trees because of the white bark, maybe they're related. June, you have a little bit of heaven there!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing prettier then Fall leaves!! I so love this time of year, well maybe not all the raking. Your valley with the shack is gorgeous! I can see you building a little cottage just for us! Please that the bed with and don't leave it for the men or I will have to drive all that way and rescue it!!! Hugs, June!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece of property, June. It is just gorgeous. I love the land. Our farm is all gone now-since my brother died it passed to his wife. It is still embedded in my heart though. Land is in your blood sometimes.
ReplyDeleteLovely post- so glad the grandkids had fun in the leaves there- xo Diana
This is SENSATIONAL!!!!!! June my dear, I can never understand something about your photography, and that of Jade's in Bavaria. You both seem to be able to capture all the white softness in a room or landscape and if there is one prominant color (like your trees), then all that is in the photo is the white and its soft tones (like gray) and then the yellow. When I take a photo with white and a prominent color, I seem to pick up all sorts of other colors....do you Photoshop? Or is this asking too much? HAHA! Beautiful as always. Anita
ReplyDeleteBeautiful June! My husband and I just got back from NC and they weren't even close to that pretty there!
ReplyDeleteKelly xoxo
It's all so BEAUTIFUL! We don't have Aspen's here in North Carolina, well... at least i don't think we do. The color is amazing, and then white bark too... wow. I bet your little red shack does like pretty with the white bark and the snow. I like your favorite little grove too. It looks like a magical place. And... what is better than a hammock... i know the kids AND adults love it...
ReplyDeleteSo nice that you appreciate it all and count your blessings... appreciation is powerful energy - you're so cool...
Cindy
My dear sweet June. My visit with you today leaves me in tears. I truly feel the truth in you words and the beauty through your eyes. We left our mountain home 10 years ago and moved into the city. I want to go home today.
ReplyDeletebig hugs

The photos you've shared with us are just gorgeous... a little heaven on earth I'd say.

Hi June,
ReplyDeleteYou live in a beautiful place and I loved seeing all the beauty.
The Autumn leaves are so pretty and love all the golden tones.
Enjoyed seeing your little red cottage and look forward to seeing it in the snow in winter.
Have fun for Halloween

Carolyn
What beautiful land June... I can't imagine the joy it brings you.
ReplyDeleteBeing a City girl I only visited my Uncles farm once a year and I loved riding the horses and helping feed the other animals.
I wish I had a magic broom for Halloween and I would fly over for a visit and a cup of tea.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your week!
Hugs,
Wanda

Hi, June,
ReplyDeleteYour home and property are absolutely gorgeous!! I can see why you would like to build a cabin here. I, too, look forward to Halloween. I will be spending it in NM with my children and grandchildren. It is always a pleasure to visit you and see your beautiful photos, dear friend. Happy Halloween! Vicki
What a blessing to be surrounded by so much nature, your pictures truly take my breath away. The colors this time of year make it all even more spectacular. It's sometimes good to know that all we need to make ourselves happy is right outside our front door!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Oh June,
ReplyDeleteYour views and pictures are just stunning. So beautiful.
Kris
Good evening sweet June! Thank you for coming to visit me! I am always so excited to see people that are so talented to take the time to visit me....and YOU would be a master at Photoshop! My husband bought it for me two years ago, and I've been given some help by blogger pals on how to use it. It's not easy. But your photos are already stunning, and I'm still trying to capture that look with the creamy white and the contrasting colors. Your golds here are just brilliant and you give us so much joy with the way you see the world. Hugs to you my dear! Anita
ReplyDeleteWow June, What beauty surrounds you! Your post was just breath taking. What an amazing place that you call home. And a big Thanks for the energy that you sent my way! Honey I needed the recharge!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Becky
Thanks for showing your beautiful property. How nice it must be if you ever just want to get away by yourself for a while. Be sure and post at least one picture of your little red shack this winter when the leaves are gone.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're enjoying the fall, June, and thanks for the lovely reminder about gratitude. I need a little jog now and then. Diane
June,
ReplyDeleteWow - and by the way, Wow.
I can see why this offers the perfect spot to meditate. You are so right that we need to give thanks for what we have more often.
The Aspen tree's laying on the ground with the golden leaves all around is spectacular.
Hugs

Wow June, you're in paradise.... I could never get tired looking at all that splendid beauty. Beautiful views at every angle... and how fortunate to have that much acreage. YOU ARE ONE BLESSED WOMAN.

Hello dear June, I love your gorgeous leaves vignette on your table. Wow, the golden yellow of the birches is really intensive and looks just beautiful. It's such a great place where you live. Enjoy the fall!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Julia
I could use a quiet nap in your red shack right about now..time to reflect on blessings and loss....
ReplyDeleteI've loved the idea of your shack since the first time you showed it. <3
Dear June!
ReplyDeleteYou make me dream with your beautiful photos ...
You live in paradise ... with all the nature and silence around you.
I love the view out of your sleeping room and the view over the hills and landscape!
What a beautiful live your horses have there ...
I find your life more beautiful and richer than living on another place on earth.
And I think you now this.
I' m looking all year round for a place like yours in my country - but impossible!
My husband and great love and I are searching a big big garden to have our silent life on the country.
But these places are nearly not to find!
Dear June, I wish you a wonderful Halloween and a beautiful rest of the week with your family!
With love,

Once again i enjoy your great pictures! The colors of fall are awesome!Have a nice day sweety!
ReplyDeleteHow I loved standing in your shoes to share the stunning countryside you spend your days near dear June! How very different those views are to the view from my own bedroom window, where I am only yards away from my neighbours houses, yet fortunate in this suburb to be in the sight of magical trees. Your Aspens are so golden! I wonder if they are the same tree (my favourite) that over here in the UK we call Silver Birch? Thank you so much for sharing your magical mountains and pasture with us. I found myself wondering if you rode one of your horses the seventeen miles, but then thought no, they drove in the truck one of your pictures shows. How marvelous it is that all of us your internet friends can for even just a brief moment in our lives gaze through your eyes and enjoy the beauty !
ReplyDeleteI must away to find my broom and make haste for tomorrow we fly!! :)))).
Biggest hugs June darling friend
Jane xx
Your pictures and little fall touches are so beautiful June! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteJune that first picture shot straight into my heart with those delicate pinks and gold! how whimsical and fun are those leaves in a heavy iron urn!!! I love it, and I love hearing about your heart and what you love most, your meditation spaces and your favorite spots on earth....so beautiful!! thank you, Namaste.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Photo's. Isn't this time of the year magical? I have a garden and yard to clean up this weekend which I have been putting off too long.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful country you live in. the fall colors are sensational. We used to have a hammock in our yard. I don't know what it is about it, but kids played on it for hours! So nice to see your beautiful place this time of year.
ReplyDeleteEach and every little nook and cranny of your property is gorgeous June! Just love the fall colors and your photos!
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
My dear June,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures dear June, this is where the real magic is always live, the place where you live is like a fery tale!
Many hugs

I love the quote "I feel that if we don't take the time to be grateful for what we already have
ReplyDeletehow can ever make room in our lives for more?" I am finding that when I practice gratitude, I feel so wonderful. I am going to share your quote with my friends.
*Smiles* and *Thanks*
you live on a beautiful spot, june. the scenery is gorgeous! (LOVE bella and molly and inside of your sweet cottage!
ReplyDeleteHello dear June,
ReplyDeleteagain it's been to long since I visited your lovely blog. And I'm so happy to be here now, you live in a beautiful country and oooh I just love the colours of the trees! Thank you for sharing this beautiful coutryside with us. Hope all is good with you and your family and I wish you a happy Halloween.
Hugs, Ingrid.
Oh June those yellow leaves are poetry. Pure poetry.
ReplyDeleteDearest June,
ReplyDeletedo you also guess that the leaves this year are MORE INTENSIVE golden glowing than in the years before? I thought that as well when I saw some birches here this fall... It's such a great autumn! And I LOVELOVELOVE your photos! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment - I am very happy that you liked my Vienna-post (and I really hope that you will come to visit Vienna...), but I see a large amount of beauty in your country, too. I love it and I hope we can manage it to see it with our own eyes one day.
Warm hugs, my dear!
Traude ♥♥♥♥
Such lovely place where you live. The trees are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh June, your property is just gorgeous! What a blessing to live among such beauty! Your view from the window is a prefect reminder of His awesome power, and His abundant love.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Patti
Love the urn and all the color! Wow, it just ain't happening here yet! I visited my children in Nashville last weekend. It was cold, but no changes yet in the leaves. I dream of seasons. It pretty much stays the same here with a cold snap every once and a while.
ReplyDeleteYou are a fabulous photographer. Glad I dropped by for a visit.
Dear June,
ReplyDeleteWell, I can only echo everyone else's words ..... you live in such a beautiful place. Not only is your garden wonderful but, the surrounding scenery is stunning..... and, so vast !! The UK is such a tiny little island and is so different but, even so, we still have some beautiful scenery too. We all live in such different places don't we June ? I often think that we are quite lucky as, we are only 20 minutes away from the centre of London, but we also have the countryside on our doorstep.
I love yor urn { I have one the same !! } with the scattered leaves .... you always think outside the box June..... and, to have that little cabin with so much land around it and such wonderful views must be a fantastic retreat.
.... and, although the scenery where we live isn't quite as magnificent as yours, we have lots of trees, the church spire and the peeling of the church bells to look at and listen to. Everytime I pass the large sash window on the landing, I look out at the trees and the church ..... I shall now think of you when I do that !!!!
Happy Halloween June ..... have fun. XXXX
You live in a beautiful part of the country! Love the yellow aspens. Your fall garden is so pretty too. Have a happy Halloween! Mimi
ReplyDeleteWow... It looks incredibly beautiful. I would be happy if I had a gold forest in front of me * gg * - thank you for these great photos. The decoration with the autumn leaves and pumpkins is so simple and yet so effective - great! I hope that many children today come to Halloween and it will be a nice evening for you all. Happy Halloween - Best regards, Christine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos June!!! Thank you for sharing with us a tour of your lovely property. I can't even imagine getting up every morning and having those beautiful views of the mountains, but then I can't imagine either getting in my driveway by snow mobile :)
ReplyDeleteCindy
oh june! thank you so much for sharing your slice of heaven on earth with us! and what a special treat for me to see the gorgeous aspen in all their autumn glory!! we don't have those beauties here and the only time i have ever seen them in the fall was on a trip to cripple creek, co. and that was before i had my good camera....so, thank you for these lovely images. i just love your grateful heart and your morning meditation....you have me inspired.
ReplyDeleteblessings,

So beautiful June!
ReplyDeleteLove all the golden glow here...breath taking.
And yes, how grateful you are...and what a perfect way to begin your day...thinking on Him and returning your thanks to Him.
I love hammocks and how wonderful your grandchildren can enjoy this...and just in time..lol
Love your property and that red cabin...lovely!!
It really must be stunning too in the winter with all that white!
Love and hugs to you sweet friend!
All my heart,
Deborah xoxoxo
Dear June
ReplyDeleteComing here is like coming "home" except you at the moment are in pure gold as we are in rich greens and pastels.
Such a beautiful vignette of Autumn leaves in the urn with the white pumpkins!
We are so fortunate to be able to share all the same goodness that feeds our very souls and all the golden Aspens are pure beauty not to mention your little "hi-de-hole" tucked away in amongst them. Jeff and I have over the months been building a shabby little "garden room" quite similar but smaller where we can retreat to and it sure has been that place over these very sad times.
Thank you sweet friend for your loving care and kindness expressed over dear Andrea's passing. It has been such a sad time but I would do it all again if needed - to be there for someone in such need. She and her partner came back here to live with us at the beginning of the year not knowing her fate.
I have loved and learned so much from someone so blessed in handling such pain.
Sending love and hugs,
Suzy
There is nothing like the beauty of Aspens against the dusty browns of fall. When our daughter lived in Mammoth Lakes, CA, we loved visiting her in the fall. We don't get the leaf changes in southern California, but we see definite changes on the beach.
ReplyDeleteAmazing grace over here, and beauty to behold.
ReplyDeleteI want to live your daily life looking at all the countryside that one could see.
Just beautiful, your photos are a vision of perfection.
Xx

What a golden autumn!!!!

ReplyDeleteGosh, I totally LOVE that property. I can imagain it would be a great "get away" place. I enjoyed being here again, as your blog always makes me smile with all the beauty you have that surronds you....naturally, and of your making.
ReplyDeleteI have totally lost my bloggin mojo. Not sure when I'll get back to it.
June, it's been toooo long since I've taken the time to sit and really absorb your beautiful pictures. They are always so gorgeous and inspiring! Life has been busy and I've ignored my own site but am always thrilled to spend a little time on yours. Wishing you a joyous holiday season and looking forward to more beauty as seen through the lens of your camera. Debby

Such beauty to behold. You are one lucky gal to have such beautiful property. I am so glad you shared it with us here, it is delish eye candy for the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Lynnie
June, I must have missed this post. How lovely of a views you have. Those fall colors are just beautiful. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Alaina
ReplyDeleteWonderful landscapes!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen so much yellow and such a bright color. Yellow trees, yellow bushes. And al of it on a lilac background. Beautiful! I'd like to paint it. It's a pity I'm not a painter. Usually there is a larger variety of autumn colors - from green to red.
It's a dream for many to have such a place where city buidings don't surround you everywhere, to have so much land in property.
It's so stupid, Russia is a very large country, but here people mostly own very small pieces of land. Standard property is 20x30 metres (~65х100 feet). Some have larger pieces, but still they are rather small, not acres.
Hi, I just read your post on Laura's ( 52 Flea) post on my booth at Bouckville.. Thanks so much for your kind words.. would love you to stop by if you ever got to Bouckville or Brimfield and say Hi.. I am now following you too.. and am happy to have found you..
