...and so it starts
The last of my family flew out this morning and so out came the Christmas decor.
(We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with everyone of our children and their families.)
It will take several days of staring at all the containers to get the creative juices flowing though.
It's a pretty big mess around here,
but I like to take my time.
Here's a few shots of things as I get them out.
Thought I would make some little vignettes of some of the things as I decide what to do.
a few new handmade ornaments
Bloggers-please read
I don't know if this is happening to everyone who has the comment moderation
option on your blogs, but many of your comments aren't coming to
my e-mail which is where I usually publish and read them from
my e-mail which is where I usually publish and read them from
and I wouldn't have known about it had I not read it on another blog.
Sure enough, I went to my settings and to the comments and found that
several of them were sitting in my 'awaiting moderation' section. I had missed
so many wonderful comments from some of you.
Most of the comments are coming through, but a few are not.
So then I started wondering if that's why I keep getting a 'failure' notice
on some of the comments that I'm leaving you who have comment moderation option?
Almost everyone who has it, my message comes back as failed,
but I think they may be sitting in your 'awaiting moderation' as well.

Hi June,
ReplyDeleteSo pretty all our decorations. Let the fun decorating begin. Enjoy.
Kris
I see plenty of Holiday loveliness just waiting for your decorative touch.
ReplyDeleteI have so few comments that I've never needed the comment moderation. Perhaps with all the beauty you share and the wonderful people that come to visit and comment you've overloaded the system June! Ha!
Susan x
Looks like it's going to be absolutely beautiful at your house this Christmas! I haven't even started yet, nothing is pulled out of storage. I hope I get the urge soon or it'll all be over! Ha ha! xo
ReplyDeleteVery cheerful looking! I especially love the home-made ornaments!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know anything about the comment moderation, so you are not the only one.
ReplyDeleteAnyway...great to see you back after the holiday, it must have been wonderful to be with all of your family.
I can hardly wait to see what you do with all of these fabulous decorations. I have finished up early so I have plenty of time for some holiday entertaining...I too like to get it all out and mull a bit. And of course it is nice to mix it up a bit each year.
Have fun!
such loveliness!
ReplyDeleteI love your decoration, dear June. I think I will start next weekend. Before Christmas we celebrate 'Sinterklaas' next Friday. Sinterklaas is a very old man and once a year he comes by boat from Spain to bring a lot of presents to all the children in our country.
ReplyDeleteWish you a wonderful time, the next weeks before Christmas!! Hugs, Ingrid
June I love your home all decorated for the Holidays! I always love your decor!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Vicky
Hi June,
ReplyDeleteI can imagine all the happy times you had with your family.
I love all your Christmas vignettes....you don't have to do another thing it looks pretty already!
Enjoy!
Carolyn
Beautiful as always!
ReplyDeleteDear June, I missed coming here and read your beautiful posts and watching your great pics and now I would like to sit beside you and watch you decorating your house... I woudl sit still, you would only hear from time to time my sighs and hands clapping!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hug you tight,
ciao
Lisa
Hi June:)
ReplyDeleteThis is such an exciting time of the year and decorating for it is so much fun!!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with this year as your home is always gorgeous:)
I'll be back...............

Capers of the vintage vixens
I think I am late to that info also June. I guess I will go and check my comments. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVELY photos as always my dear friend. Can't wait to see your decor all finished!
Blessings~
So much gorgeous inspiration already going on, June! Always a delight to see what you come up with...I know a lot of oohing and aaahing awaits.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
P.S.I just checked my comments awaiting moderation and I had them going clear back to May!! EEK! I guess things are hinky on my end also. :(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos as always June! Thanks for sharing... this was inspiring and will help me push through my final days before market. The chippy white bucket filled with pine cones was my favorite! Have fun putting it all together... look forward to seeing more photos. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful June... it looks like you have already decorated, not just sorting them, they are all so pretty!... thank you so much for your visit and sweet comment... I do have comment moderation on mine, I have to with all that has been happening on blogs lately... but I DO know, that if someones "inbox" is full, like many bloggers are, the comments are rejected with a message saying "reject, mailbox full"... my comments on my blog do not come to me through my email, but right on my comments section which I check several times a day... I have had some of mine rejected lately by those who have full inboxes... have fun decorating... love your beautiful Holiday header and that wreath!... oh my goodness... is that teensy roses???... xoxo... Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pics you posted and just the whole idea of using truly beautiful ornaments and decorations.
ReplyDeleteI just posted about a gazillion photos over the weekend, of Christmas at our old house and then our ornaments, and while I do love and cherish them... I have to say that oftentimes I want to just go the "pretty" route. Simpler and sweet. The house we live in now is like a doll's house compared to the last one, and I have to say that putting the Christmas decorations up now is really tricky. I actually told my mother the other day that it looks like Christmas vomited all over the house. :/
Anyway... I loved your photos. (As always. I can't stress it enough now beautiful your photos always look). I can't wait to see how you decorate everything!
Kristin
June,
ReplyDeleteSounds like your Thanksgiving will be lovingly memorable.
Your start of Christmas decorating looks like you have many treasured pieces to build beautiful vignettes from. Will look forward to seeing the magic you create for this year.
xo,
Vera
I am not aware of the comment problem...but then, like you, I'm always late to the party. I love all of your holiday touches. Just beautiful, as always. Magic happens at your house!!
ReplyDeleteI think your "pending inspiration" pictures are beautiful vignettes all on their own, June! : ) You've got some really pretty decorations and I love your new ornaments. I've been having a tough time finding inspiration, which bothers me because I love decorating for Christmas. I'm hoping if I put stuff out, I'll wind up moving and tweaking and will find my Christmas creativity.
ReplyDeleteI knew I was in for a treat when I saw your beautiful header, and I love the quote!
ReplyDeleteI am so inspired and can't wait to finish up decking my halls in the morning!
Thank you for the notice June. Your comment came through fine for me. But I'm usually the last to know these things! Haha! I am so amazed that you got all your kids home for Thanksgiving. Wonderful! Getting the goods out for decorating is always fun for me. You got some lovely photos of yours. I hope it's a wonderful season for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information, June. I'm going to check mine right away. I'm even a later comer than you. I love all your Christmas decoration pictures. Beautiful shots. Blessings, Diane
ReplyDeletesooo süße bilder!!! danke für die tollen inspirationen!!! einen schönen abend wünscht angie
ReplyDeleteEverything is so absolutely beautiful June! I love your little touches and that you've brought some color into it. I've gone so to the white/silver thing that I'm starting to miss some of those vibrant Christmas colors from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteI've had the issue with email for a long time now, I'd say close to a year. Everything comes thru to me but my comments don't get emailed to others, I get those failure notices all the time:( Not sure what it is but they don't appear to be working on it!
Always find Christmas dreamland at your home....it will be beautiful I know, whatever you decide to do. Blessed Advent xxo
ReplyDeleteJune,
ReplyDeleteWe celebrate Thanksgiving in October in Canada, so I've been playing with the Christmas decor for the past two weeks. All of your holiday pieces are treasures, it is a pretty Victorian Christmas look {one I really love}.
Have fun playing with everything and putting it all together.
For some reason, I am so excited about this holiday season! Love your boxes and cards!
ReplyDeleteHey Miss Talented! What some lovely vignettes and then beautiful photos. You got it dear sister!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every minute of the Holidays
Sista June
I always get so happy when I see a post from you on my sidebar, June. Can't wait to see what you come up with for your Christmas decorations this year. I haven't started yet either and trying to get it all figured out in my head what I'm going to do:-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your decorating and the Season!
xoxo
Kathleen
Btw......I haven't gotten emails for comments in months, but have always checked my "awaiting moderation" in the comment section,so see them there. It was nice to get them in an email form because it was easier to comment back that way.
ReplyDeleteK
Even your Christmas decorating preparations are pretty! Glad your Thanksgiving was fun. Love the new ornaments you've made. Mimi
ReplyDeleteIsn't always nice to open the box with christmasdecorations and bring out the memories that belongs to every simpel ornament?
ReplyDeleteLove your new made ornaments, there are very romantic. Sure that they bring new memories for next year...
Hugs, Peetje
Thanks for the notice, June. Sometimes when I wanted to leave a comment for you I clicked on 'post comment' and it wouldn't go any place, this time it did and I am following you by e-mail and so far it's OK. Hope it continues as I enjoy your blog so much and hate to miss it. All your Christmas fixins look so pretty and I know they will be even prettier when put together. I've done a little but am kind of rethinking things again and hoping I am making the right decisions. Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with all your family..Happy Monday..Judy
ReplyDeleteHi Dear June. What a wonderful post about your christmas declrations. I love them all and it gives me ideas for my decorations. I will start decorating next weekend as we first celebrate Santa Claus here this Friday. It is a bit like Christmas giving presents but we do that at December 5.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we get to see all your decorations when they are up")))
Hugs from Riet
What a wonderful and romantic post!!! Sooo warm!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy time
Elisabeth
Darling June I can olnly imagine how your decorations will be beautiful... I started few days ago, and I'm enjoying a lot with my children =)

Silvia
Good morning lovely one! When I saw that you had up a new post, I braced myself for yet another feast for my eyes. June, your world is beautifully decorated and captured no matter what the season. And in regards to your comment situation....I wonder how many people even read my blog with the music I carefully select to go with my photo and word choices!!! The experience isn't even the same without the music....I need to figure out something else.
ReplyDeleteYou have again inspired me. I have so many lovely elements in my home, and maybe not each room can be taken in a shot, but many VIGNETTES can...see how long it takes me to learn about how to take a picture?? teeee
MUCH LOVE TO YOU! Anita
Just so beautiful photos again!
ReplyDeleteI wish you wonderful Christmas time with your family!
Dear June!
ReplyDeleteYou have so much treasures to decorate ....
Happy week my a Dear!
With love,
Geli
Good morning, June. Thank you for another lovely peak into your home and your wonderful decorations. I especially love the tag ornament with the very simple swirly angel. Would love to find that rubber stamp if it is still being sold and you have an idea of where to find it online. Your photos always inspire me to play with my camera and create vignettes with my boudoir dolls and now a few of my new Christmas decorations.
ReplyDeleteThanks, also, for the note about comments. I don't get very many comments but I'll sure check to see if I have any awaiting moderation and get those puppies published.
Blessings, Marrianna

ReplyDeleteCara June, inizio dicendoti che entrare nel tuo blog in questi giorni che precedono il Natale è come tornare bambini...meravigliose le foto e stupendi gli addobbi e l'atmosfera che si respira!

Sending hugs and thanks for the kind visit to my blog.

Beautiful as always. Looking forward to the final peek.I am very slowly getting a few areas decorated. Every year is less stuff and that's fine by me. I am so tired after work that I pat myself on the back if I'm even able to throw some ornaments in a bowl ..:D
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you and yours...I was also able to be with my kiddos at Thanksgiving this year. Nothing better than that!
smooches

ReplyDeleteWish you a great weekend.
Sending a big hug from here
June...the tiny tiny birds are exactly as you described. The size of a hummingbird and not afraid of me at all. I was able to get so very close to them. All I could do was stand there with tears running down my face while I took in their joy. It is in these moments that I truly realize my life is so full.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing the beauty that only you create in your quiet cottage in the country. xxo
Oh June, I am going to wait here holding my breath on the beauty that soon will appear in A post of yours. I see all the beauty you have laid out to inspire yourself with and I am in Christmas wonderment to what's to come of the Christmas reds and colours.
ReplyDeleteI am just now starting as well, I plan to decorate in a more simplier style, of of old world rustic. Yet who knows one things leads to another in designs.
You always take the most amazing photos.
See you soon, and please visit my new and latest Joyeux Noel creation.
xoxo

Looks like Christmas has come to your house June. So many pretty bits and bobbles.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I have been so busy getting ready for a show every month since August and now we're done until next May. So glad - I feel like I can actually sit, light a few candles, and exhale. Hoping for a quiet Christmas with minimal rushing and lots of resting.
Hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving with your family.
Cindy

ReplyDeleteHello Dear June
ReplyDeleteSo many sweet Christmas vignettes already here! Your photography makes all of them so simply beautiful! Love your sweet little handmade decorations - did you create these?
You can probably hear my sighing here at the sheer simplicity of everything - that is what makes my heart sing!
What a beautiful Thanksgiving you must have experienced with your whole family visiting! So special! We sadly don't celebrate it here in Australia but Jeff and I try to celebrate it everyday.
Sending you warm Christmas decorating hugs,
Much love,
Suzy
The vignettes of your holidays treasures are almost as delightful as they will be when you have them in place. I love your homemade ornaments with the sweet angelic faces, and the wee little bottle brush trees make me smile. I am so like you, my bins are out and I have ideas swirling in my head. It will take awhile. Once I get things in place, I really don't move them around...that's just me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit! Hope you are relaxing and enjoying this festive time! :)
Jane xx
Dearest June,
ReplyDeleteyou have a great collection of Christmas ornaments - nostalgic, glittering, beautiful - and my favorites are the handmades! How wonderful that you and your family have enjoyed the Thanksgiving feast - and now your pretty house will soon shine in bright Christmas sparkle.
Warm hugs, my dear,
Traude

ReplyDeleteDear June... I had a great big smile on my face this morning as I noticed a comment awaiting and it was you!! Oh thank you so much for your lovely words my lovely friend a way over the ocean. I so wish we lived just around the corner. I've been non too well since the wedding in August, and my computer was hacked...nightmare! Had to lay-out for a new one, so that's our Christmas present sorted ;) I'm still getting used to all the new-fangled stuff on the new one.
ReplyDeleteAll your gorgeous things for Christmas, oooh! they are really pretty. I cant wait to see the photos of how you decorate your home.
A belated Happy Thanksgiving dear June, and thank you thank you for placing that big smile on my face this morning. I'm SOO glad that we can be friends June!

June-Thanks for the tip! I found out my comments were wacky too and trying to figure it all out! When I look at your pictures, I see you floating around in a long white gown in a house that is absolutely quiet and peaceful. Is that how it is! Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteFor someone who was just starting to decorate, your home already looks amazing June! I just love your new handmade ornaments, too. I'm like you - taking it slowly. I could spend all day at your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I did notice that your comments as well as a few other bloggers' don't show up in my email - just the comments section in blogger. I don't have any comment moderation turned on, so that's weird. But I always find your comments anyway & they're treasured!
So many pretties to create with! Can't wait to see more, June. :)
ReplyDeleteI am a no-comment blogger (because the email was so out-of-hand) and reply to comments from my Blogger admin. But thanks for the heads-up. Always something with Blogger, eh?

Happiest of Holidays to you!!

Glad to hear you had a very happy family Thanksgiving. Even if all you did with those decorations is bring them out to stare out, they look pretty darn festive and beautiful as they are. Ha! I'm sure you are decorated and ready now for Christmas just a couple of days away. Haven't had any problems with comments that I'm aware of. I see that there's some new robot thing for comment moderation on many blogs. Happy Holidays, Tammy
