I have a very dear friend who lives next door and a couple of days before Christmas she
brought home some stems from a florist and called and asked if I would like to make some
floral crowns with her.
She for her daughter, and me for a couple of my granddaughters
who live close by.
I love how they turned out!!!
I have been wanting to do this for a very long time with flowers from the garden
but never have gotten around to it. I will definitely make time this year!
We had a great time putting them together. I wish I would have gotten a photo of the one Sarah
made for her daughter. It was so pretty.
These kept well in the refrigerator. In fact I took these photos after they had been in there two days.

These kept well in the refrigerator. In fact I took these photos after they had been in there two days.
I also want to share a beautiful package I received all the way from
Australia.
Most of you artists already know Suzy from
Suziqu's Threadworks and for those of you who don't, you can click
on her name and become acquainted with her. She makes so many beautiful
things in many different mediums, but really loves working in laces and fabrics.
I am so happy to have a beautiful piece of her artwork in my home.
Don't you love this beautiful paper that it all came wrapped up in?
She and I share a passion for roses and you should see her
gardens!!!
In the package was a pretty bundle of laces
for me to use in my own collage art.
Now for the beautiful card!
Isn't this the sweetest angel face you have ever seen?
Notice the beautiful floral crown of roses it wears in it's hair.
This card is precious to me for two reasons. Because it came from Suzy's hands
and because angel art is very special to me because of the syndrome my son has
called Angelman after the Dr. who first named it as a
specific syndrome.
It's a bonus that it is wearing a beautiful crown of roses!
Thank you so much Suzy for this gift. I will cherish it always.
And thank you Sarah for the wonderful afternoon making the crowns.
We had such a good time doing this and hope we get together this
summer and do a few pretty rose crowns too.
I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone who reads
this blog a wonderful New Year and hope that 2015 is what we all hope
it will be for us.
What a beautiful give you received! And the floral crowns are adorable ~

I love the floral crowns, June. When our daughter was confirmed, a friend was visiting from Germany. She was a florist, and she made just such a crown-wreath from white roses, greenery and ribbon. It looked so beautiful on my daughter's dark hair. I can just imagine how pretty yours must have looked on your granddaughters, and how much fun you had making them.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful...so lovely...
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are magic!
Warm hug,
Titti
