lilacs


I'm hoping you all can take a few more photos of the pretty 
lilacs from the garden. I have so many photos of them, and I knew 
it was forecast that we were to have a few days of rain so I took 
shots of them just about everywhere I could.


 



 


 
  
 As you can tell, I couldn't quit taking photos of these lovely lilacs.
They were just so pretty in the urn.
  
Maybe this winter I will share more of the lilac photos I took in the garden when 
I have nothing much to share in the way of photos.  

 


A few of the apple blossoms after opening and before the rain hit.






 Several things in the garden look a little sorry after the hail hit here on Sunday and I'm so, so 
glad I took the photos of the flowering trees and lilacs when I did, because
they certainly don't look like this know  :))))

    Your flower pictures none of us could ever tired of seeing - thank you for sharing.

    Weird but my lilacs - have three bushes of them - didn't do well this year. Maybe it is because of our rough winter or something we did wrong. I didn't get many blooms, and they weren't strong ones so I got absolutely NO pics of them this year. I am so sad about that.
    So trust me, I adore seeing yours!

    We got some nasty hail too, quickly came and went, but got it.

    June, I could take any one of those pictures and make it into a painting. You do SUCH beautiful work! OMGosh- Amazing pictures! Do you happen to have a phone with Waterlogue on it? It turns regular pictures into water colors and is an amazing app.

    Your lilacs are just gorgeous, June! I really enjoy seeing them. I just planted a lilac bush a few weeks ago and I don't expect any blooms this year, so I am looking forward to next year and getting some of my own. I especially love how they look in your white urn!

    Hail can be so devastating. Even so the lilac and apple blossoms are beautiful. As I told you we didn't have lilacs this year because of frost. It's sad and weird to not have them. So I'm glad I have yours to enjoy. Blessings, Diane

    The lilacs photos are spectular, the mix of colors in the urn ... I'd make note cards out of the photo, absolutely gorgeous.

    The lilacs are always a treat, June, but the way you arrange them and the vases, urns and buckets are always inspiring---keeps us on our toes to look for new ways to display our flowers. That's one of your talents---just one.

    June, everything is beautiful! I finally managed to get my little lilac sprig planted a week ago. I know it's a little late to plant this season, but it's all I have of the lilac that used to be at my Mom's.

    Lucky you! I love the lilacs, I love the peonies!

    I can take pictures of lilacs and peonies when I buy them tomorrow at Trader Joes! Thank God for them!! We cannot grow peonies nor lilacs here!

    It doesn't get cold enough! But you will not hear me complain about this!

    Otherwise; someone who had 12 feet of snow might shoot me!!!

    June, your lilacs are just beautiful. I especially love the purple with the white edges. Do you do something to make them last as a cut flower. Mine just seem to wilt quickly. It always seems to be the case around here that the flowering spring trees bloom so beautifully and then a rain comes and knocks them all down. We can't complain here about rain though, but there certainly doesn't seem like a lot of time to enjoy the beautiful blooms..Happy Tuesday..Judy

    The lilac and blossom are absolutely beautiful June wether they are in an urn, bucket or in the garden !!
    I know what you mean about the blooms looking sad after the rain ….. we have a wonderful white clematis which was glorious last week but, after the rain, the flowers are brown and battered !!
    I think that the lilac in our garden was planted in Victorian times and has seen better days !! …. I need to get a new one.

    If I ever visited you when you had that urn of lilacs, I just want to warn you now - you would find me claiming narcolepsy with my head buried in your urn up to my ears. My deep breathing would not be snoring but rather huge lungfuls of fragrance. Those white rimmed deep purple gorgeous clumps of goodness would be just too good to resist.     Pretty, pretty, pretty!! I love, love lilacs! Who am I kidding, I simply love flowers but the fragrances of lilacs, YUM! I didn't get many blooms on my trees this years, humm?? But the couple of bouquets I did get were wonderful. Sister you simply have the talent for photography!! Just can't get enough! Love ya, the other sister June!

    Yes dear June, nature can be as cruel as it can be kind and beautiful. I can imagine your garden was sad after the hail and storm. But how wonderful it looks on these photoes. My lilacs are also blooming at last, but today it is also storming here, and so cold, it is. I hope they will last a bit longer, but am happy they were beautiful when my daughter and grandchild, visited us over the Pentecost days.

    June, I am back again - I think you may be a no reply blogger because I couldn't reply to your comment about my growing up with water on 3 sides.....I should ease your worries because the cliffs around me are REALLY HIGH UP and it's nearly impossible to flood, and we really had mild weather - except for winter being so far north.

    I am now land locked - have been for years when I grew up and moved to the big city - and miss the water EVERY SINGLE DAY! I need to try and get back to my little home town and visit this summer, if possible. I hate getting homesick after so many years and my being all grown up.

    Oh I too have been missing a few of your divine posts dearest June!
    But viewing these glorious Lilacs in so many shades and the Crab Apple Blossoms have made up for it all now. They are perfect partners in their various shades of pinks, mauve, whites and lilacs.
    The only thing for me missing is the most amazing fragrance they emit.
    Lucky you dear June I'm only a little jealous and I am so happy for you that your are enjoying your most favourite time now in the garden inbetween caring for your Landon.

    I too think of you often sweet friend and but my dried roses inside keep my memory link going with you.
    I hope the rain keeps coming to feed your gorgeous garden. Did you know that science has recently proven that trees and plants actually communicate with each other and trees care for each other giving out energy when others are weak and ailing from lack of food and water. I was blown away hearing this and how forests communicate in perfect harmony. Now that puts a different feeling in our hearts about cutting our own firewood!

    Love, Love, Love! Your photos are so pretty I feel like I can smell then through the computer. Sadly my three poor Lilac shrubs didn't do much this year and didn't stay blooming for more than three days, I don't know what I did to them. Maybe next year I'll have better luck.
