A little Valentine tree----and, I won Jane's giveaway!

I wanted to share a little Valentine tree I decorated for the month of February.

I had saved one of the smaller trees (taller than me) that I had decorated for Christmas,
knowing that it would be perfect to hang some of the leftover hearts I had been
making heart garlands for a couple of my granddaughter's rooms.

.

I tied some of my dried roses together and then hung a little Maileg cone that my
friend Sarah had given me and filled it with a few of buds

I want you to know that I have strategically placed the tree where my husband
has to walk around it.
I wonder if it's a big enough hint?
He knows I'm easily pleased with chocolate :)

Yes, I'm still painting...it seems like I will never finish, but the little
tree has been a bright spot.

Quite awhile ago, in fact, before Christmas, I won a wonderful giveaway by Jane from
Blondie's Journal! I wanted to share it sooner, but had to find the photos I had taken of
her lovely presentation of it. The book, The Inspired Room by Melissa Michaels
was beautifully wrapped in Christmas paper and Jane had added some of the seeds she
had gathered from her own gardens for me to plant in mine. I'm so thankful
for this thoughtful gift. Now I will have something to remind me of Jane growing
right her in Idaho! Jane and I have been blogging friends for years and I can't imagine
anyone not familiar with her blog, but if you're not, you should go see the
Birthday Party for her darling little granddaughter Elsie!

I have a little Valentine vignette I hope to share in my next post, so see you soon!

  1. You can never go wrong with chocolate can you June ?!!!! Your Valentine's tree is so pretty and I love the way that people in the US dress the house or the front door when it's a particular celebration. We only really do that at Christmas ..... I think that I should start doing it, don't you ?!!
.... and, what a lovely gift from Jane ..... so thoughtful and you will think of Jane when the seeds grow.
Looking forward to seeing your Valentine's vignette.
Sending love from the UK. XXXX

  3. June, The tree is so sweet. I have to make me one.:):) I love the cones full of dried flowers. Oh yes, I know that sweet Blondie. I just love visiting her blog. She's always decorating a little something and cooks out of this world. I really like for my best blog friends to be friends with each other. :):) That will be so nice to grow something and be able to think of Blondie. Hugs to all your family, extra ones for Landon. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  6. I love the tree and all the decor on it. I think I have to find me a branch to make a tree next year.

  7. I love all the dainty fabrics on the hearts - and no calories for Valentine's. I've always used twigs and raw branches inside the house in various applications. It is as eye catching as fresh flowers if done right (and you certainly do it right). Happy Valentine's Day.

    hugs

  8. That tree is just darling!! Oh chocolates sound so good right now. I may have to go out and buy me some. I could dangle a cute tree in front of Jackson, but since he is a dog I don't think I will be getting any chocolates soon!! Sending hugs and chocolate kisses your way!! June

  9. Oh that tree---how precious, June. The burlap and fabric cones are so perfect, a nice change and I love the dried roses. I was talking to another blogger about keeping dried roses from crumbling and falling apart. Any tips?

I so appreciate that you mentioned your win of my giveaway. I often think of how special these gifts from the heart are presented and the little tidbits they come with. I have to say that my little gift of flowers seeds seems so much more impressive in your photos! I so appreciate that you shared. And thanks for the lovely visit today!! :)

your Valentines tree looks so adorable, inspiring and romantic! (I get desire to decorate my all-the-year-tree similarly.) I am confident that your husband will understand the hint ;-)
Congrats to you for winning the sweet Giveway!
It's wonderful that you didn't fall from the ladder - I wish you continued good luck with your renovations! I was very happy about your nice comments and had especially to laugh at these words: "so you will not have to borrow husbands too many more times :)))))" Well, I think my husband is now relatively healthy again - so your're right: It's time to return all the borrowed husbands to their wives again [Sigh...] ;o))))
Have a lovely day my dear!
    Lots of hugs from Traude

I think those fabric cones brimming with dried roses look stimply stunning!

I am so happy for you that you have found some time to create amidst the hours of painting - that is such a huge job! I really hope you are not doing this all by yourself!!! I would find that rather daunting myself!
On the other hand it is so wonderful that you can do this now!
What a sweet gift from Jane and so kind of her to share some of her seeds with you.
Sweet Valentine's love to you my dear friend,
