Where I create...

This room is full of half done, barely started or almost finished projects. Sometimes entering this room fills me with dread. There are so many things I want to start but don't dare till I finish the ones waiting for me in here. Last week I actually got in and finished some sewing that I had been working at for a few weeks. The sewing table is still covered by all the debris and that is why it is not pictured here. This room is also where my computer is so it needs to stay somewhat tidy or I would never come in here to blog. Blogging has actually inspired me to start creating a little more. I hope it lasts. I love to sew and I definitely like to collect fabric. Right now I'm on a pillow making kick. I honestly can't have any more pillows in this house so I'm now making pillow covers for the garden and the camp trailer. I've made a couple of simple quilts for my son this winter and I can tell he's really is loving them. He loves anything cuddly. I also love collaging but haven't done that in awhile. I have a lot of ideas rolling around in my head but that's pretty much where they'll stay for now. I make a mess when I sew but you should see the messes I make when do paper crafts!

  2. Well, your room looks like a treasure trove to me with all those beautiful fabrics and pretty, soft colours! Don't despair - we all go through times when we're unable to find the inspiration to keep on creating. That's just the signal that you need a little down time from it - after that you'll find you can't wait to get going once more. Warm wishes V xx

  4. I am so in love with your glass jar filled with laces, and those piles and piles of fabrics. Oh my, they really got my heart to beating a bit faster! I think that your work room is just wonderful, so neat and orderly. My work space is just the end of the diningroom table, and a few piles of boxes filled with things in the corner of the room. A bit of a mess, but the only space that I could stake out in this over filled home of mine!

As for the loss of creative urges, I can sooo sympathize with you on that. I have hit a dry spell right now too, I love to look at all my "goodies" and dream of the day that I will come up with something creative to make, but that is all I can do is just dream. Right now I am just at a loss, can't seem to make myself pick up a needle and thread to make anything. What works for me is when I look thru magazines or creative books, gathering ideas, letting myself be inspired. Maybe that would work for you too, June. I hope it will come back to you real soon. And all those pillows is not such a bad thing. i don't think that anyone can have too many pillows!! They are what makes a home cozy, so let your heart take you where it will, and make those pillows if it is what your creative heart tells you to do right now.

  5. Hi June! What a great collection of fabric remnants you have there. I'm envious! I've just recently dragged out my little machine and threaded it. I may as well use my free time creating something! Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. - <3

  6. Your room is soooo lovely, with all the soft colors. I would love to have a room of my own to be able to creat beautiful things. I don't sew but I do enjoy making gift baskets and creating other things as well.
