Flowers in the house

I just can't get over how fast time passes the older I get.
I have neglected my poor little blog for so long and it has been total
laziness on my part.

I did have some photos of blooms from the garden that I wanted to share.
The grape hyacinths are still blooming and so are the many daffodils that
are scattered throughout the garden.

I love the deep purple hyacinths, but I love the pure white ones too.
The purple ones carpet the ground in one section of a large bed and look
so striking when you catch sight of them.
I don't have many white ones so maybe that is why I like them so much.

The daffodils are almost done blooming, so I am cutting as many as I can and
bringing them into the house for their last hurrah.

I decided to get a post published so that I can take some photos of the crabapple trees
that are blooming and actually try to get them posted soon.
The trees are just packed with blooms and the hum of the bees working in
them is almost scary :)
I would sure like to taste that honey!

I love how pretty the hyacinths look in my little iron urn and
wish that they had a longer vase life, but I guess that what photos are for!

I just won the most beautiful giveaway!

I have a dear blogging friend named Riet who lives in the Netherlands.
I have followed her blog since I started my own and over this time she
has become a  close friend that I am so grateful for.
Recently she had a giveaway to celebrate her birthday and to celebrate a new blog she
just started called

Look at this GORGEOUS hand painted scarf!!!!
I am so excited to be the winner of such a lovely gift.

Here is a close up of the lovely card that she sent along with two
of her hand crocheted coasters (which I LOVE!!!!)

Thank you so much dear Riet! I am going to love wearing this scarf!!!

So lovely June. I especially like the photo of the white hyacinths in the blue urn. You must have tons of them to fill an urn. I bet they are gorgeous outside.
You must stop by to see our furry friends who lived with us for several days.

Hi June
I feel the same way about "time flying by"! Love the grape hyacinth ♥ Our daffs are finished here & now it's lilac time :-) The yellow finch always arrive in our garden when the lilac blooms so we are looking for their visit now too. Sparrows are nesting & have been chirping away merrily all morning long.
Congratulations on your win - what a gorgeous scarf! Love the colours.

I love the blue of Grape Hyacinth - such a true colour. The first time I ever saw them they were planted with daffodils and I thought I was seeing a vision. I have planted Grape Hyacinths at every house we've owned - they could carpet a town, I'm sure!
What a lovely giveaway you've won!

Laura said...

wow, wot a great win!!! love your scarf and your flowers! I have been researching these bulbs for an assignment and learned that the sap from daffodils will end tulips if they are in the same vase which is a shame! but anyhow, yours look so very pretty! so too do your hyacinths! in australia, we call them grape hyacinths! so very gorgeous, especially your white ones! love how you displayed them in the urn!
have a wonderful weekend!

Ooooh June, as always, your photographs take my breath away! Drinking in the beauty of each one, as the morning breaks outside my windowpane, transports me to a magical spot indeed. *sigh*
I have a great swath of purple Hyacinths given to me by a dear uncle, gleaned from his precious garden a long time past. Not only are the blooms lovely, but too are the memories of his gentle soul.
Wishing you much joy in your gardens as you dance beside the honeybees.
Sending love...

Love your photos!! Someday I hope I can get a better camera, I know I've been say that for years. I chuckled over you and blogging. I wonder if it is in the air or are we really twins. I've been slacking with blogging also. Maybe it is because the weather has improved and all our free time is outside. Of course that is where I always want to be. I told myself no more new projects or plants this year. I've already lied to myself and have lots of planting to do!! That is when I get home. I'm on a mini vacation at my son's in Central OR.

Take care Sister!!!! Hugs!!

I simply love your flowers, June! I think you should come and visit me in England, because I'm sure you'll get mad in the gorrrgeous place where I've landed (looots of fantastic gardens here!).
I used to paint silk scarves, too. Well actually i still do that, when I have the time! Those made with that technique are so beautiful when worn! Super pretty!
Love,
Monica xoxo

Monica said...

Just a note on grammar June, I was wondering if the connotation of "going mad" is the same of "getting mad"? Maybe not... I'm doubtful after I've written that.
Anyway, you know what I meant!
