I didn't get my act together enough before Christmas to share how I decorated for the Season
this year and wanted to post it before 2018~
so here goes...
Just to warn you though, this post has waaay too many photos!!!
I did the woodsy thing again since it's what I love and my trees are prevalent on
our mountain property.
The aspens sometimes sucker up in fencelines and other
places we can't have them grow, so I usually have lots to choose from.
This year I did hydrangeas in the branches and the photo above is before I had them all
hung up. I loved the look in this photo and not so much in the light of day, because truthfully,
it looked like one big mess, but I'm glad I got this shot before I had hung them all up.

it looked like one big mess, but I'm glad I got this shot before I had hung them all up.
I did more trees than I usually do and loved the look of an enchanted grove that it gave
the living room in the evening with all the lights lit.
I decorated the trees with a myriad of things.
Some of the items have special meaning for me, and others I just think are pretty.
I had ten trees in the grouping and as you can see, they aren't that impressive without the lights
lit, but to get a decent photo straight on, I had to take it with the lights out.
Even then, they look much prettier in person.
I do love how they look through the reflection of the mirror though!

a few vignettes around the house in the next pics
a little fun with my Maileg pixie and his little pixie friend
Here he's showing me one of his brothers in Belle Blanc's Merry Christmas book
The garden gates each got a matching wreath this year, and as you can
see, we haven't gotten snow yet...so different from this time last year!
a wonderful New Year!

Oh, dearest June - how I wish I could take bright gorgeous pics of my things as you do yours.
ReplyDeleteI have lovely things for every season but my pictures are ugly, grainy and dark - I just can't figure out how to do it. I have a good camera, great lights and excellent tripod, yet, well, bleh.
Your photography is magical. You should publish books, seriously.
Happy New Year, sweet lady. Big hugs. Good health and joy to you and yours!
xxoo,
Michele

Love your woodsy winter decor! I'm still not ready to quit myself, so this suited my mood. I love the period leading up to Christmas and am so sorry when it's over. Is the vintage photo of the folks in the sleigh a personal heirloom or is it on line? Just love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea---it is just beautiful---breathtaking really. How did you stabilize them? I am thinking maybe plaster of paris in cans or something? It is such a sweet idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your New Year is full of love, joy and many blessings. Love to you and hugs for your own sweet 'angel'. xo Diana
So beautiful...I have been waiting for your Christmas post and I was so excited to see it come up this morning. How very, very beautiful and the grove is such an original and magical way to celebrate the season. Your creativity is amazing.

June, it's all just truly magical! I see many of the same ornaments I have and love. The grouping of trees is so unique and I can just imagine how beautiful they were at night. I just received the Maileg girl advent. She was half price and I couldn't resit. :) Wishing you a wonderful New Year!
