Droppin' hints...

I don't need much to make me happy for Valentine's Day. I love chocolates and have dropped enough hints this past week to have earned...oh, I'd say...at the very least...one very humongus box of chocolates!

I left hints everywhere...

On his truck

I left one at the haystack so that he would be sure to see it when he feeds the horses.

I left one for when he chops the wood for the day.

I left one for him to find when he goes on duty.

I left one for him to find when he gets a drink.

Takes a shower...

When he gets his socks...

And one that he is sure to find...on the remote in his TV room...

I just know he won't dissappoint me.

And just in case he did forget...I bought two! One for him and one for me!!!

I thought I would share the sweet story of how I met this wonderful man. This knight in shining armor, this best friend I've ever had.

When I was fifteen, my family moved from Boise to this little small town that I call home now. My father had been raised here and my mother had been raised in an even teenier town a short distance away. So needless to say...there were a lot of relatives in town.

I was your typical fifteen year old girl and was always scouting out my new surroundings for BOYS. Everytime I would meet a boy in my new town, I would go home and tell my mother about him and more times than not, she would say, "oh honey, I'm so sorry but he's your cousin", (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) it didn't matter, he would be related. I was beginning to hate my existance in this new town, since one of the lastest boys I had met was a dreamy, ever so handsome boy that I had just been told was my 2nd cousin (again).
My older brother was dating a girl (not related, by the way) and they decided that they would take it upon themselves to help me meet the perfect boy, the man of my dreams. Her brother.
Without me knowing of their plans, they asked me if I would like to go with them for ice cream, and of course I did. We started driving a ways out of town (and in the opposite direction of any ice cream, that's for sure) and turned down a country lane that led to a large open alfalfa field. In the distance I could see a young man with a shovel changing water (irrigating the field (yeah, I didn't know either, I was a city girl)). When I asked my brother why we were out there, he gave me some lame excuse and then said that something was wrong with the car and everybody out. Well everyone got out, but then jumped back in the car and sped down the lane leaving me out there all alone standing in the field with only this guy in the distance.
Yep, that's right...the poor guy drives up
(he didn't know what was going on either) and askes if I needed help. By now I was catching on, and asked he if would give me a ride to town, because my brother was a loser.

I have been riding in his car now for the past 39 years.
He certainly turned out to be the man of my dreams.

Wishing you all a very chocolaty, flower filled, diamond studded Valentine's Day!!!

Awww June a funny and very romantic way to meet your soulmate:) I met my hubby on a blind date my cousin and his sister arranged and then forced me to go. That was Dec 14th, 1991 and we've been together ever since. I hope to be as lucky as you and celebrate 39 years. BTW, the hearts sprinkled about your hubby's day is so darn cute and a great idea! I may have to try that next year, he he.
