Jewels from the garden

Just a little warning about this post...

I had too many favorite photos to choose from here,
so I decided to post too many  photos  : )  !

The color of these little iris really pop in the mostly white color scheme of my living room.

I had to take a picture from every angle possible.

I bought this beautiful vintage necklace last week from a dear friend
who makes such amazing pieces.
I had to have it the minute I saw it. I loved this color much too much to let it stay in her display case.

Leslie creates the loveliest pieces of jewelry from vintage elements she finds in her travels.
Leslie has an on-line store and an Etsy shoppe called Tarnished Lace.

I purchased this piece in Picabo, Idaho where she has a few items on consignment.

Leslie is a sweet face-to-face friend that I see often and lives in a town near me.
She has been in Oregon visiting family
so she doesn't know yet that it hangs around my neck now : )

See the pretty little case it is sitting on?
My mother came to visit for Memorial Day and brought it to me.
Thanks mom!!!!!!!!!!
I love it when my mom gives me the things she no longer wants
and decides to edit out of her life.

I made a goal early this season that I would spend four hours in the garden and two hours
cleaning the house daily.

How am I doing???

Good as far as the garden goes.

House, not so much!

My white slipcovers might look white in these photos,
but what you can't see are the little children's dirty footprints from the
past two weekends,
and little white doggie footprints on the arm of the sofa where he
watches me when I go outside without him.

I did get my windows washed yesterday.
(that sound you hear is me patting myself on the back)

I was much better keeping my house clean when I was a crazy young mom with
six kids underfoot.

Now I find too many fun things to do when I should be sweeping and dusting.

The lilacs are still blooming and I cut a basin full and thought they would look pretty in the house,
but this many lilacs in close quarters wrecked havoc on my allergies
so out to the front porch they went.

Earlier this week I foofed up the front pergola and hung the curtains out and baskets of
lilacs for a welcoming feeling.

Dale calls this space 'his office'.
His favorite place...Spring, Summer and Fall.
Landon loves it too.
He sits out here for a couple hours most evenings in the Summer just
chillin' with his dad.

I hope all of you are enjoying a beautiful season whether it be
Spring or Fall where you live.

Many hugs till next time!

Ah we can never get too much of your pictures and visits. I love to see your pretty things. It's much more fun to be doing these things than cleaning house. You create wonderfulness and we all need more of that.

Hi June, You must know that the more you share, the more we have to fall in love with... when it comes to beautiful flowers, like those fabulous iris & of course the lilacs, there can never be enough... 4 hours a day in the garden, maybe I could do that, but Never would I want to spend 2 hours cleaning, I need to clean for 2 hours, but today, I sat on the computer most of the day listing... Boring, Yes... but someone has to do it!
Have a Blessed & Beautiful weekend

Hummm, footprints on the arm of the sofa? You need to talk with my Jazi on this subject. And my white sofa isn't slipped covered. Those darn puppies!!!

I have decided, like that, I with a big capital I, have come to the conclusion that the true jewel in the garden is YOU! Yes, dear one you just blossom when you are out there. It so reflects in your pictures, garden and you!

One more thing, it is a good thing there is several miles between us or that gorgeous necklace might be missing. Love it!!

Take care and continue to bloom! Hugs!!

Hello my dear friend June
Your irises (Dutch?) really make a statement in those little containers against the crisp whites of your home.

I love the soft drapes hanging on the verandah catching the Summer evening breezes. Oh yes! I can feel my self there in your beautiful garden again with these gorgeous images.

I am glad you have got your priorities in the correct order about the hours in the garden and then the house (like me!).
Yes what happened to the hours we devoted to cleaning our home in our younger days?
I love the plaque which sits in my studio which reminds me of the important things that really matter -
"Craft forever! Housework whenever!!!"

Your photography is so beautiful June and you have captured simple beauty with so very little! I'm bathing myself in all the beauty which surrounds you and I'm counting some of your blessings shared here with us.

Sending you very big Iris and Lilac hugs all the way to your home and you!

Hi June,
I smiled at your goal for the hours in the house & garden - I am the same way in summer it is never hard to spend the time working in the garden but to come in and cook and clean is much harder-tour day tomorrow though so I have to discipline myself!
I love the iris photos in the pretty vases.Your white livingroom is beautiful.
Also, love your new necklace and jewellery box from your Mom.
You could never have too many photos and I always love to visit both your blogs.
Take care,

Hi June,
Looking at your beautiful pictures is like a walk through a heavenly garden.
As for house cleaning, I share your feelings. It seemed as though my house was cleaner in my younger days. I remember I spent my Saturday mornings, my day off, cleaning the house! Now, I have better things to do. Must have something to do with getting older and setting our priorities straight.

Thanks for brightening my morning.

Never apologize for lots of photos, June! I love your beautiful photos. The iris is so lovely!

Hi June,

Lovin your photos.... Your house and garden are so beautiful!

I'm hoping to catch you quickly here....

We've finally gotten the new Hydrangeas that have come out since 2010-2011 in the U.S.

I took out a Mock Orange and a Pee Gee Hydrangea that died on me, it was a Zone 4. I want to replace the holes with Hydrangeas.

I LOVE the ANNABELLES and have lots, but, I'm not sure if I want to try the INVINCIBELLE OR LITTLE LIME HYDRANGEAS????

How did your Invincibelle do? Does it get lots of flowers and are they full/big? How about your Limelight, do you really like it as much as the Annabelle? I would only get the little lime one, but it sounds nice, having a hydrangea turn pink in the Fall.

I'm just not so sure about trying the INVINCIBELLE? Let me know how you like it?
