Branching out for Christmas

I'm finally getting around to posting my Christmas decorating for 2015.

If you remember, I kept it very simple last year with fir trees and greens,
but this year I wanted to do the aspen trees again that I did the year before.

We have hundreds of them on our 40 acre place in Fishcreek.
We are always having to thin them out of the fence lines, and so it's nice to be
able to use the ones we cut down.

I did a very simple mantle in the living room

I did make a mistake when I put the little grove in front of the windows...
it makes it impossible to photograph  and have it appear as pretty as it is
when you are in the room, but you will get the idea.

There are actually six trees, but I couldn't get a very good photo of them this
week because of the stormy weather making the house so dark.

I have missed blogging, and hope that I can get back into the swing of it again.
It was a rough summer and fall here at the Stocking house due to illness, so I wasn't able
to be on the computer very much.
I had vertigo so bad that I wasn't able to do much of anything for months.
I would be good for a few days and then it would hit and I would be sick again.
I had visited two doctors locally, before going to Boise and seeing a specialist who
put me through a few tests to rule out the more common reasons for vertigo and found that
because of the congestion in my head from my summer and fall allergies, the pressure
in my ears was all that it was. He put me on a couple of different meds
to treat them and I have felt great since I saw him the first part of October.

Once I got my life back :)))) I could see how far I had fallen behind athome and got to
work putting my very neglected garden to bed and cleaning this poor house.

So I am happy to say that I feel as though I could actually now spend some time
blogging again. I have really missed visiting all of my favorite people and places
and hope to catch up soon.

I do have more Christmas to share, but this post is a little heavy on photos,
so I will post again soon.

Oh, my, I'm so sorry to read that you've spent such a sad time, vertigo are so very annoying, you should never move and always keep your eyes shut, that's not possible at all ... I do know them so well because, even if I'm still young, I suffer of cervical arthrosis for several years, after having had a car accident many years ago so, sometimes, I happen to have my neck rigid and to have vertigo so badly... fortunately it doesn't last lots of days, but during that period I'm unable to do anything, even to read it is a disturb to my stomach !

I'm so very glad that you've recovered, now, and that your life has come back to the normality !

Your Christmas decorations are so refined and tasteful, filled with light and simple, at the same time ... so very researched !
Thank you for sharing, my darling June, I'm looking forward to your next post.
Have a blessed day
Dany

Please I would love for you to email me. I Have had vertigo since I was 15 years old. Same was you. Email me so we can talk. I have gone through so much testing. I would love to tell you how to be off the medication completely. The meds I took made me so tired but it did take away the vertigo.

You created such a wonderful atmosphere all around and find very clever and very eco to give another chance to the cut branches.

June, It's so good to have you back. I was wondering what had happened to you. I have heard how awful vertigo is. I'm sorry you had to experience that but am so happy that you are back. When you are gone I really miss you. You're my go to girl for "pretty." Your home looks beautiful as always and your photography always makes me want to take a class. Wish we lived closer as I would pull weeds for photography lesson. lol Have a Merry Christmas my friend and stay well.

Your branches are beautiful! So glad to hear you're feeling better and that it was just the allergies causing the vertigo. I have a friend who suffers from it. Looking forward to seeing more of Christmas in your home!

I am so glad to hear that your vertigo is gone, bless your heart.

I love your trees and your mantle. Looking at your mantle made me want to cry for some reason. Maybe the subtleness and the soft colors and the simple, sweet look. You have a gift for decorating.

Happy Christmas holidays to you ~ FlowerLady

Glad to hear that simple meds cleared your problem and it wasn't something bigger. I went through something very similar last year and was so relieved when they said it was just a sinus infection.
The house and decorations look gorgeous - as always. You have an incredible eye - both with creating vignettes and capturing the images. I pinned an image of your tree's months ago. The picture of them lined up near the white wall - looking so magical. It is the most pinned image I have - seriously. Just beautiful.

Hoping you have a healthy and joyous Christmas.

Ahhhh, I remember you doing this last year! I'm pretty sure I pinned it:) It looks amazing, like a winter wonderland right inside your home! Your grandkids must love coming over and seeing this:) Your mantel is so gorgeous, I love the gold metal twisty thing...sorry, don't know what to call it but looks like little gold leaves on a vine, just lovely!

Ugh, sorry to hear you had vertigo. My FIL had it a couple of years ago, my MIL ended up calling 911 because he couldn't walk. I also had a friend who had some years ago and was out of commission for 6 weeks, she said it was horrible! I'm glad you're feeling better! Hugs!!!

Hello dear friend! Happy to see you. As a fellow vertigo victim I am so sorry you went thru this. I used to lie down and cling to the edge of the bed / couch as if it was rolling upon a violent sea.
The forest of trees is gorgeous once more, I can imagine in the evening how spectacular it all is.
Merry merry to you and yours sweetie.

beautiful as always! I love the look of the bare aspens and think I may try that next year. Can I come and cut some down?? Vertigo has been the bane of my life since March, I have taken a few rides to the ER with it being so debilitating that I can't do anything but lay in bed motionless. They have no idea why so all the really bad things have been ruled out. I have a constant ringing in my ears now and my hearing is affected, any kind of stress sets of the unbearable dizziness. I am so very sorry to see that you have had trouble with it also. So very strange that I know several people going through the same...
I hope you are feeling better, that Landon is well and ready for Christmas. Take care sweet lady, I really miss you.

Your home is almost as lovely as the lady who lives there! It is truly beautiful in its Christmas finery.

I'm so glad you're over your vertigo; I had vestibular neuritis for two years and had to learn how to walk again once I finally got over it, so I understand how awful it is.

Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family!

I'm glad you will be able to blog more. Whenever I see a new post from you, my heart jumps for joy.

Merry Christmas June. I love your little trees. I am thinking of having my Teddy bear make me some for the porch next year. So sweet. Your honeycomb trees are the same as the ones I put on my mantle. I just love those too. I did not stick mine together..I placed a bobbie pin at the bottoms to hold them together. ;):)
My Ted had a bout of vertigo..the dr. showed him exercises to do and it worked. I was thrilled and so was Ted. I hope you are well and enjoying things now. Blessings to you and yours, hug Landon for me. xoxo,Susie

I am so sorry to read that you have been taken aback by vertigo June. Did you know it affects more women than men, but at least they have found the cause and a remedy.

The beauty of your home has not skipped a beat though since you have been abed. The gathering of sparkling trees are breathless just like an enchanted forest.

They would not do well in my home though, the kitties would have their delicate bobbles strewn about. I will enjoy and admire yours though instead.
take care my dear.

Dear June
I am so thrilled that you have found that magic in your heart and hands again to enjoy decorating for Christmas once again. Even though your inspiration went on a forced holiday for a little while there you have certainly made up for it all now. I can feel your enthusiasm returning here June filling your home with such an amazing Winter Wonderland! Your aspens are perfect and so beautifully decorated in silver and gold. I have created a very small vignette in similar shades using some tea tree branches. I adore simple with emphasis on nature and peace and that is what I feel when I look at your beautiful images.
I am so happy for you Jean that you have found your stride again and that you can now enjoy a Beautiful Christmas full of blessings with your family.
Much love and many warm hugs sweet friend,
