I have been sitting here today going through garden images on my computer.
Seeing what plants need to be divided, moved, or replaced in my beds.
It was just what I needed.
I have really enjoyed our Winter this year,
it has been beautiful.
Cold, but beautiful.
It has been such gloomy weather here lately,
but today we finally saw the sun.
And it got me dreaming of this...
How great it will be to have these covering the trees again.
And have the tulips popping up all over the place.
Cannot wait for the lilacs!
Of all the Spring blooms in the garden...
I think these are the ones I love the most.
hmmm...
I am sure I've said that about ten or so different flowers before.
But...
I am positive it is the lilac I love the best!
Such beautiful music!
And as beautiful as this Winter has been,
I will welcome the Spring when it decides to break.
But I will not expect it too soon.
(because we have more cold weather ahead)
I will take it when it comes, and live with joy...
everyday of it.
Bleeding hearts remind me of my mom.
She loves them, and can grow them much better than I.
Snowball vibernum
Ahhh...love them!
But...
sitting here, looking through all the pictures of my 2010 garden on the computer
today made me wonder...
am I ready for the work to begin again?
Oh Yeah,
I'm ready!!!!
So worth the effort when I see these blooming.
Looking forward to getting my Vitamin D the natural way,
rather than the supplements I've been taking all Winter.
And the constant presence of dirt under my nails, because I don't keep the
gardening gloves as handy as I should.
I am ready for the days in the garden
lost in thought.
Solving all my problems through hard work.
The colors...the smells...the textures...
all working together to make it's own symphony.
Such beautiful music!
So I say...
let the music begin!
So...
I am pretty sure most of you are as ready as I am to have the sun shine again,
and the grass to start peeking through the snow.
And as beautiful as this Winter has been,
I will welcome the Spring when it decides to break.
But I will not expect it too soon.
(because we have more cold weather ahead)
I will take it when it comes, and live with joy...
everyday of it.

Can't wait for spring!!
Your garden is really like a paradise...something to see and smell at every turn. I know we have a long time until spring arrives, so I try to find it in fresh bouquets of flowers from the store or like you, sifting through last years pictures. I truly believe though, that each season has it's own beauty and it's best not to rush them.
Hope you are feeling good, June. More snow as we speak!
XO,
Janie
I think a lot of us are feeling the same way. Really looking forward to your garden this year. I'm planning a small veg. garden that will also have some flowers. My husband is putting a fence around it to help keep out all the little critters. How do you cope with that?
Hi June, oooh, I so enjoyed this post and all of your gorgeous flowers!... I have to say Lilacs are my most favorite too! (and like you, I say that about almost all of my flowers!)... but they are just sooo Heavenly and that photo of yours is stunning!... plus they bloom over my birthday, I always say it is just for me!... I am so anxious for Spring... sounds like you are feeling alot better, I hope so!... Stop by if you get a chance and meet my new "baby"!... sending Springtime thoughts and love to you... xoxo Julie Marie
Thank you June, this post is beautiful and just the cure for the Winter doldrums.
Lilacs and lily of the valley are my favourite fragrant flowers.
Stay warm.

I can't wait for Spring! We're expecting another snow storm tomorrow night. 6 to 12 inches! Crazy for Oklahoma.
I am SO ready for tulips and lilacs and roses! We're lucky here on the Island because we can go down into town at this time of year and see blossoming trees - so beautiful and such a balm for the soul when one is getting tired of rain and drizzle and grey skies!
Thank you for that lovely interlude in your garden.
I'm ready for some sunshine too! The grey is getting dreary...I'm also looking forward to seeing you get out in the garden and creating these beautiful photos again..;j
June,
What a garden of Eden you have. How lovely it must look in person. It seems to me, the colder the winter climate, the prettier the summer gardens. Your pictures are just beautiful!!!!! Enjoyed them so very much.
Cindy
Dear June,
What a delightful post, with all your gorgeous flowers.
Would really brighten anyone's winter day, seeing all the wonderful colours and flowers.
Hope Spring will be there soon, so you can get out and enjoy your fabulous garden.
happy week

WOW! What an absolutely stunning garden you have! It has blown me away! I dream of one day having a garden of my own like yours...one day :) Seeing all those photos makes me want to come by and have a wander through your garden, smell all the gorgeous flowers and daydream about life!! Enjoy the sun as it comes back! I cant imagine what a white winter would be like as in Australia, I don’t get one! I don’t actually get snow at all, ever!
x
I dream of having a garden like yours someday. ox
What a beautiful garden, it looks like The Secret Garden:) Your flowers are gorgeous! I wish I could send you some sun, I sat out on my little deck today and soaked up some rays. But I have days I wish it was cold and rainy so I could nest inside and be cozy:)
I'm sooooo ready for spring. It's been a harder winter then normal & has certainly tested my endurance. I did cut some forsythia branches & brought them inside. They're just starting to bloom. They look like Spring.. Jan
Just gorgeous! I recently "strolled" through my photo files, too and your photos are far more beautiful than mine! These are so cheerful and beautiful!!
XOXO
Joni
Oh I can just smell all the beautiful flowers, get lost in the thought of of such beauty...tranquility. Thank you for reminding me of all the beauty that's getting ready to come forth again...the miracle of life, growth...harvest.
June
Your garden is like a slice of heaven!!! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful post!

I feel the same way June. Thinking about the beautiful flowers, smells, butterflies, bees, and just all the nice things that summer brings almost makes me feel guilty for not enjoying this peaceful time to rest and recuperate. Beautiful shots of your garden. I wish mine looked like that.
ahh...yes...spring come quickly...the dreariness is getting to me...all of the beauty, the color, the LIFE of your photos is just like a breath of fresh sunshine in all of this gray...THANKS!
Rene
Ah, you have the most beautiful flowers :)
I am looking forward to the winter months here in Australia, this heat wave we have been experiencing is just too unbearable.
That was positively lovely and uplifting! Thank you for the tour of your garden and a preview of what is to come...can't wait!
Take care, Laura :)
I am anticipating very impatiently seeing my pretty pink poppies bloom this year! Did I tell you I found 3 plants late summer. I do hope they will be ok with all this extremely cold temps we have been having- my how can anything survive -16 degrees!!!
June your photos, I am having to confess, are making me even more antsy for warmer weather! It is the end of May before things really get going here so I have a long wait!! I am so impatient.....

Hi June,
I am glad that you are feeling better and that you are starting to dream of spring. I took a tour through your garden earlier today and really enjoyed it's beauty and found so much inspiration. I was wondering if you would mind if I did a little post about you. I wanted to do some post on my favorite gardens in blogland and yours is most certainly among them. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hugs
Becky
please share with me what the name of the tree is in your first photo? Looks like a pink dogwood, but the blooms are white? please pop over to my blog & let me know...would really appreciate it. xoox
Ok...so, I won't say that we needed to use the A/C today at the office...because it was kinda like in the 70's...bare arms everywhere... ;}
{sometimes I am just so mean & ugly inside!}
m {is for malicious!}
Pretty soon I can start planting flowers in my pots. Probably by the end of the month. and I can't wait either!!
Oh you are a flower lovin' tart aren't you? Flirting with all of them, telling them you like them best...when we all know it is the ****** you love best! heehee

Wish I could fan some CA sunshine your way June! The photos of your garden are lovely, and I enjoy getting my hands in the dirt too, glove free. OX Martha
Hi June, Your gorgeous garden pictures make me wanna sit in front of the computer and look at them until spring is here. We haven't seen much sunshine during the last few months. I'm glad though that we had no snow for about 5 weeks.
I have at least three favorite flowers but lilac is one of them. Then there are peonies and hydrangeas and when I think a while longer, I'm sure there would come even more to my mind :-).
Thank you for sharing some spring with us!
Hugs to you,
Julia
Oh my June! Your photos are glorious! Vibrant, colorful and oh so beautiful! We've had a strange winter so most of my plants on the balconies are pretty pathetic at the moment. My tomato plants totally bit the dust. You have so much to look forward to. Best wishes, Tammy
Until spring is here in all its glory I'll visit here on your blog and look longingly at your beautiful photos. Tks
Darling June, your garden is a dreamy place. I can even smell the perfume of you lilac and roses.
I like gardening so much, but I don't have a place all mine. So I make other's ones and I have so much fun the same.Your heaven mast take you much time, but darling it really WORTHS all your dedition!
Have a nice day
Silvia
Hi June ~ your garden is so beautiful! I'm sure you are ready to get at it again as am I! I went out today to do errands and it was 51 degrees here in Salt Lake! Then at 4:00 p.m., the snow came in and now we are covered again in a wintery wonderland of 3-4" of snow! Our lawns WERE bare, but not now. Yes, I am ready for spring! ~Stacy~
June, thank you so much for this tour of your magical garden! I'm ready, too, and we have been tidying up and making sure the bulbs that have started sprouting have lots of air and light. And I'm about to pour over the David Austin catalogue – I said I wasn't going to but... :) Have a beautiful week, dear. xo – g
Your garden looks beautiful - you must work so hard on it. Take care this year though, after your op. Wonderful photos!
Oh dearest June, this month is going so quickly, at least for me, that spring is gonna be here before we know it! But in Minneapolis here, it usually doesn't start until mid-MAY!!! But I am hopeful...I am dreaming of seeing my GREEN boxwood again, and this time, from my FRENCH DOOR WINDOWS!!!! We have such a great view of the garden now. How are you precious one? HANG IN THERE.....Anita
Oh my I love them all, the lilacs crabapples and snowball. I live in the warmer part of australia and have tryed to grow them all. The crabapple is doing well though. I would so love a garden with all those treasures, You are so lucky.

If I had a green thumb and a garden like yours, I would live in it!
Just looking at your pictures makes me want spring to hurry up and get here.
Thanks for brightening up my day.

Hi June!
Your gorgeous photos would make a wonderful slideshow on my computer to help me try and be patient while awaiting Spring!
I hope you see the sun shine today. We have a bit of snow but should be sunny the rest of the week (with some melting I hope)!
I always love to visit ~ have a great day!
June, you are a woman true to me. I always start out the new spring with the best intentions, new pair of gloves, sock and sneakers are on. But sadly to say within two weeks I have missed placed my gloves and it is just so much more comfortable with bare feet. I hate to say I have also lost a small diamond from my wedding band from weeding without gloves. I too have been thinking and planning my new gardens to plant.
Thank you so much for that gorgeous dose of spring! I could smell each one as I looked at the pics! WOW.......such beauty....it will return....it will return....it will return!
June,
your garden must be a wonderfull spot, to be in- such wonderfull photoes-love your white/pink trees and plants/flowers.
Here the snow has almost gone, but we are certainly not sure, there will not ne more--- so for now spring is a bit far away.
Hugs,Dorthe
I love seeing photos of your beautiful garden, June. I am more than ready for spring. I dream of losing myself in gardening chores once again. We have over 3 ft of snow on the ground right now so that seems a long way off!
xo
Claudia
let the music begin indeed! and the kind YOU play is the kind i want to hear! Pure loveliness mon amie...pure loveliness! :))
What a beautiful, colourful and uplifting post June! Your garden is amazing. I love the photo of the lilac with the blur your gorgeous horse in the background ♥
Thanks for sharing your photos today ~
I so agree with you! I have this theory: that if we don't get dirt underneath our fingernails, we are not getting the proper amount of "therapy" that we need.
Brenda
Perfect day to walk through your beautiful garden. We had 3" of snow yesterday afternoon and more coming tomorrow. Dreaming of spring.
Sandy
Dear June,
This was such a lovely sharing of your thoughts!! Honestly... that picture of the lilacs - I could almost smell them! I din't "know" you last year when you were gardening, so I'm so looking forward to hearing all about it this year - when you have the time!
many blessings and thanks so much for your advice!

I cannot wait to see this year's pictures of your gorgeous garden. Hope spring doen't make you wait too long my dear friend. Keep save and warm.

Oh June, I know I've said this before, but out of all the gardens I've ever seen yours must be my absolute favorite! I just die with envy every time I look at your lovely and tranquil space.I'm sure it is lots and lots of work, but all the time and effort must really be worth it! I do hope when they come out to shoot your studio, they also shoot your garden as well, because truly, with God's help you are are creating something beautiful out there as well.

Hi June,
I loved seeing the pics of your beautiful garden! i like your attitude about enjoying each and every day.
We are getting more snow here and the trees are all laden with it-pretty!
I am gearing up for the season too but like you know I will have to be patient.
Are you getting snow too or just cold this winter?
I enjoyed the beauty.
Have a great week!
Carolyn
I can't wait to tear my garden apart but it will have to wait until late Summer or Fall I'm afraid...until then I'll enjoy yours dear June!
I had fun the other day looking at my flower pictures. Funny because at the time I'm not moved to show them.

Hi dear JUne. I believe you when you say you want to see those flowers again in spring and summer. They all look so beautiful and you make them real with your fantastic photo's.
Hugs from Riet
Your gorgeous garden photos are just what I needed today too:) I am getting antsy to get out and get down and dirty but snow is on the way again. I have a feeling we won't see the grass until April this year. I will have to keep coming back to your blog for more Spring inspiration:)

Dear June,
I do love your garden so much. You really must have to put in so much hard work to get it to look so wonderful.
It is so refreshing to hear someone say that they have been enjoying the Winter.....I love every season, even the Winter. It makes the Spring even more special, doesn't it ? We have had the most glorious day today....blue skies and a little warmer but, I am sure that there will be colder spells ahead before we get to the warmer weather. You experience far more severe Winter's than we do so, looking through your Spring/Summer photographs must be very thereputic and inspiring for you.
I am certainly looking forward to seeing your garden burst forth once again into full bloom.
.....and, many, many thanks for your lovely comment and birthday wishes....it made my birthday even more special.....and, I'm still celebrating !! XXXX
JUNE!!! Precious June, how are you? IS IT FREEZING COLD OUT YOUR WAY? It is so ridiculously cold here..25 below zero. WOOOO! But the love and care of friends and good colleagues and family really make every day special. Thank you for your kind comments that always make ME so happy. May we all spread and sprinkle the love of JESUS EVERYWHERE! Oh dear God, help me every day!!!
BISES, Anita
I am a new follower of your blog and I have to say your photography work is excellent.
She will soon be here...Spring...in all her glory my sweet friend...hang tight just a wee bit longer. My your garden is stunning .xoxoxox Hugs
June,
You know how much I love your garden right? I mean I only go on about it so much some might say I'm obsessed! We have finally done the hard work on our backyard. The stone stairs, the retaining walls. Now this season I'm hoping to do some planting. For some (like you) that would be the fun part. I'm paralyzed over it. I look at your pictures & they inspire me so. I wish I could wiggle my nose & you'd appear then we could go the nursery & pick things out. BTW, I'm from CA & Lilacs were such a fave. Can't grow them here tho, but I did find some at the grocery store last year. Hope you begin to thaw soon so you can go outside & wreck your manicure!
Lisa
Hi June!
This was such a beautiful post!

Ah these pictures make my little heart sing! Lilacs and Snowball... I love them and they look so gorgeous combined in an old pitcher...
This time I can't wait spring to come... I love winter but this time I am yearning for spring!!!
Wish you a perfect weekend.
Hugs, Mira!
You are killing me here with those photos. I think we still have plenty of winter left in our neck of the woods.
and I'LL NEVER have a garden as gorgeous as yours......just don't know how to put it together and I am starting at rock bottom around here. I am just trying to convince hubby to keep the horses OUT of the "yard??" in in the pasture.
lilacs, definetly spring lilacs. I did plant 3 last year.
Hopefully, not too much longer June!
I adore lilies of the valley. I know a lot of people don't like them in their garden, but I always did. After we moved to Florida, my young son visited Michigan with his dad, dug some lilies of the valley up and brought them home on the airplane, thinking they would grow down here. We tried, of course they couldn't take the heat. It was so sweet of him, though. He knew how much I loved them.
And every home I had up north, I surrounded our porches with Viburnum carlesii; such a heavenly fragrance. I do miss the north in the spring.
Hi Dear June
Well I am sure you have the most wonderful garden in all of blogland!!! Those bleeding hearts are so so sweet.. as is all of your flowers.. you are a wizard with the petals my friend..
Well as you know we have had a few hot hot weeks.. probably too hot to handle.. but now followed with a drizzly cool week,, which was a bit of a relief... Hopefully we'll get a bit more sunshine before it gives up and moves on to winter. Have a lovely weekend... and a fab Valentine's Day.. ciao xxx Julie
Sweet Junie!
Thanks for the well wishes... :-) It was one nasty crud....but I'm tooooo tough.. It couldn't survive! Just ask the Mr.
Oh, YES! Can't wait for spring and LILACS! My daughter's planning to give me one from her yard.... and I have two miniature plants... They are the sweetest and most fragrant little things.
I am so looking forward to peeks of your luscious gardens again. Not only is it totally delish, but you take the BESTESTEST pictures too.
Until then.... Stay warm!

This post almost got me rid of my bad headache...so soothing :)
Yes, to all of it...dirt under the nails and beautiful rewards. Wish I could work with you and learn some of your ways with the flowers. Your results are incredible and I can just imagine sitting back in the late afternoon in those white twig lawn chairs with a heart full of contentment.
Happy HEART Blessings ;-)
June, you always leave the sweetest comments. Your garden flowers are just beautiful, can't wait for Spring to come around again. Hope you have an awesome Valentine's Day!!
You have one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. Happy Valentin'es Day to you and your love. I'm sure this will be a day filled with lovely flowers for you.
Hugs!

You've got me dreaming of gardening, June. Such heavenly flower photos from your garden. I'm going to concentrate on our city garden, especially the backyard this year. One of my wishes is more peonies and more roses.
Finally finally I am here....at last... I was a little bit busy! But this was worth the wait, oh your garden is sooo beautiful I can understand so well that you are willing to put almost all if not all your energy in it to get rewarded like this. It's a dream, but that dream will come true in a few months, I am sooo looking forward to it too. Looking forward is half of the fun, don't you think? Happy dreams sweet June!
Happy Valentine's Day June...
Hope you're cuddled with the ones you love.

Your garden is absolutely beautiful. No wonder you are ready for spring! :)
I can understand the need for a change in seasons, we had snow today after a few days of warmer weather.
Oh my goodness; your garden is so beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes! I would love to sit and share a cup of tea with you and just ask you about each and every flower. I am starting a new garden in NC and I would love to have all of yours there also.
What is that beautiful tree with the pink blossoms? Is it a cherry tree?
So Gorgeous!
Patricia
Wow June - You do have some beauties alright! What is the flower just under "Oh yeah, I'm ready!!!"?
I'm swooning, so love flowers! Such
gorgeous flowers, so beautiful~
I love lilacs, white n' purple...the scent takes me back to my summers
growing up in New England, by the bay. Bleeding heart reminds me of my grandmother, she grew and loved them!
*sigh* pretty, pretty, pretty!
Come on spring! :)
Hugs,
Zuzu
oh to dream of your garden in bloom again! Today we had some sunshine and I got out in the garden and saw the first crocus in flower and one single perfect little snowdrop that somehow magically found its way into my flower bed! Catherine x
