sharing a few pretties

The trees here in the garden have just barely begun to leaf and the only thing blooming
are a few daffodils, but it is most definitely Spring!
I love this time of year because when I go out to work in the garden, the digging,
weeding and edging is like meditation to me.
It's amazing how many plans are made and how many worries are solved while I
am out there.

Since I have no flowers yet,
I had to buy some the last time I went shopping.
I love the color of the hydrangeas!
The little sugar bowl was purchased at the Vintage Whites Market
I attended last month.
I also picked up some violas and a pretty little pot at the garden center this week.

I wanted to share in this post some of the things I was able to get done this past winter.
They were made from some of my favorite
Tilda fabrics.
I finished a quilt and a few pillows to brighten up the sofas this
summer and then with the left-overs I
made a couple of buntings.
One for me and one for my little one year-old granddaughter's room.
I love how the quilt turned out!
It's so colorful and cheery.

*************
I just have to show off the darling treat my dear friend Sarah
brought over for Easter! I am crazy about the little Maileg egg and bunny ornament.

So darn cute!!!

and what could be better than an egg full of chocolate???

In  parting, I wanted to show another shot of these happy little faces!!!

I hope all of you dear friends have a lovely weekend!

mixing it up

Starting about February, I am SO ready for changes in my surroundings.
After a long winter it's nice to freshen things up a bit.
I've been such a lazy blogger and so
I thought I would share some photos of the living room and how it looks today.

The wreath is new.
I made it from the last of the dried roses I had stored from the summer.
I had a great time at the Vintage Whites Market it in Salt Lake City.
I didn't really buy very much...
mostly laces and some smalls. My husband was so relieved when I pulled
in the driveway and he didn't see some huge
armoire or sideboard sticking out of the back of the truck that he would have to
bring into our already full house.
The day before the market we went to Ikea, so we had already
done a good job of filling it up with stuff!
I put blinders on as far as looking at anything of any size at the market and focused on
things to create with or to add interest somewhere in the house.

I also found some pretty china cups and a little satin
drawstring make-up bag.

While in Utah, I was finally able to meet the lovely Julie Marie from Idyllhours.
We had a lovely visit!
She was kind enough to take us to a pretty shop called
Madeleine L'Amour in Bountiful that my daughter and I really enjoyed.
I purchased the little chandelier you can see in the background
of the photo above.
Julie is so gracious and is everything she is on her blog and more.
She brought along a beautiful gift and some fresh baked cookies
from a local bake shop that we devoured the minute we got to our hotel.
I wanted to share a collage of her lovely gift.
Thank you so much sweet friend for the wonderful time spent with you and for these
treasures you chose for me.

I also ran into Stacy from Stacy's Shabby Shoppe.
It's great when you are able to finally meet the people that share so much of the
same feelings and loves that you do.
All in all---
the trip to Salt Lake City with my girls was wonderful and can't wait for our next
mother-daughter adventure.
