I love the word nesting. The robins have been busy building nests in the garden. Some are just patching some of the existing ones from the previous few years. Very thrifty. I love to fluff and patch around my house in the spring also. I have so many projects I would like to do before the garden takes all my available time. There's some painting to do. Some building as well. We've decided to extend our pergola so we have more room for entertaining outside. Well, if truth be told, it's just one more place to decorate. And I do love to decorate. I'd decorate the inside of a birdhouse if I could fit through the hole. I love making things homey and pretty. My mother was a Nester. She could make any place lovely. Our home was always so inviting. I have such fond memories of the places we called home when I was growing up. We moved around quite often, but my mother made every place cozy even when she didn't have much to work with. She never had the attitude of just making do. She put a lot of work into keeping house and I'd like to think that rubbed off on me just a little. I'm a Nester, always fluffing and fussing around the house to make it the best it can be. Cozy and homey is my mantra. I have no desire to have a show house. Somebody else's idea of what my home should look like. I feel so much joy in making my house and garden a place my family loves to come to and spend time. Well friends, it's time to get back to fluffing and fussing. Maybe I'll even tackle that birdhouse sometime soon.

I love what you said..."I'd decorate the inside of a birdhouse if I could fit through the hole". LOL I think a lot of us feel that way too. Loved reading this post and love feathering my nest as well!
Blessings!
I love nesting too ;) and I would certainly decorate the inside of a birdhouse if I could get in one too! In fact that sounds quite adorable...or maybe the inside of a dog house for Renoir ;)
Beautiful photos...love the dried roses...and the hanging teacup...
I'd love for you to come decorate my bird-house! I love homey/cozy too, I just don't seem to have the knack for it. your home is lovely and I can see the love and joy you have for it in your photos. Beautiful.
June your comment about "Nesting" made me think of my grandmommy, my mom's mom :)
She could make the "ugliest"place a real home. Even if it was only placing a nice hanky on a table with a little something on top of it and it was home :)
My granddaddy always commented on that and always told us that she was the best nester and homemaker he had ever met :) They were in love for their over 50 years of marriage.
My mom was the same, always making the house into a real home on a very tight budget, just as her momma did. And I am the same too, even if I say so myself.
Many hugs from Marian
i am most definitely a nester like you...there is an incredible peaceful pleasure in puttering around the house, just tweaking this and that...
June, my dear June, you have done it again, made me sit here and want to read your post over and over again, it was such a delightfully written little story. And written so much from the heart, that one feels an automatic wonderful connection to you!! I can well picture you as a nester, the whole idea of it just suits you to a tea. It is evident in your photos, the love of details, the love of little cozy corners and just the right color added. Your home must certainly be a cozy wonderful place, you have raised your children there and they love to come home to a mom who has a heart as big as the state that she lives in!!
I love that photo of the hanging teacup, and those roses!! What really caught my eye is that delightful floral designed item handing on your wall near the mantel. What is that? It is gorgous. Well, if I do not stop chattering, my comment will be longer then your fantastic post. :-) So signing out for now, but I will be back to visit with you again soon, hugs Debby
Hi Debby,
Your nesting is just lovely. I loved your idea of getting inside your bird house. It is so funny because I use to think things like that as a child. so you made me smile!
Have a lovely day
Becky
Spring is defitnely a good time to "nest", the weather is getting warmer, the days longer, and everything is blooming. I love your roses~
Amen......Love Tiina...
Hi June, You really know how to capture the beauty in things. I'm sure if you were able to get inside the bird house, the birds would probably be in shock! SURPRISE...
Oh...I'm a Nester, too! Always have been. My 27 year old son (the one who couldn't WAIT to leave home) now longs to visit. He said "It's comfy here!"...
The blessings of making what is just a house a real HOME.
Love your post...love your writing!

I hope you had a fun day fluffy and playing in your nest. It looks like you have some fun things to play with, love the roses.
If you get longhandled tweezers... you can do it. You can decorate the bird house. But, not sure yet how to fit the lense of camera in there to take pics!! :)
Nesting is a comforting word no matter how you apply it. so ... calming.
Hi June,
What a beautiful post. As I started to read through it it gave me a lovely warm feeling. I don't know what it is about nesting, but I am certainly someone who loves a cosy home.
I would like to Thank You so much for the lovely comments you have left on my blog, they really did touch me.
I enjoy your blog and will be back very soon. Until then........
Warm Wishes to you June

Your nest is lovely:) I love nesting! I love to decorate and redecorate and try new things (and shop-I really like to shop:)! I too could decorate everything even closets and drawers! Actually, I've already done that. I have a friend who is the queen of organized-her pantry, closets, and drawers are not only organized but beuatiful too. I liked it so much that I did the same. I guess I'm a bit crazy (but I'm more interesting that way-lol). This is a fun post:)
Blessings,
Kim

You will have to go by and say hi I think you will love her style.
How exciting that your Mom kept bees- I am a tiny itsy bit nervous about it all but feel that will subside with time and experience. I did get all the bee garb ... I know - o yea of little faith!!
Well I have to check out the rest of your blog entries and get caught up on all your inspiration!!!

Great pictures!!
You made me laugh with this post! The birdcage too?
You know, the best things are passed down from generation to generation and seems that you have inherited your Mother's sense of nesting beauty! Your house (& garden) certainly look like a HOME that anyone would feel comfy in!
When will the tea be ready? I'm coming over! ;)
