Hi Honey, how was your day? and my favorite teacup...

Mira over at Belle Blanc is having an action giveaway. To win this giveaway, you must post your

favorite teacup before March 2nd. She will pick the picture of the cup she likes the best.

No drawing, just her personal favorite. This will be one giveaway that I won't be winning,

because I've seen ya'll's china before. Mine are just little yard sale finds that I've come across

over the years. Picking a fave was difficult, but this is the one I chose.

It is stamped Made in Germany on the bottom, I hope that makes points for me with Mira.

I love this little cup with it's sweet row of roses around the rim.
Behind the cup are all the little runner's up. My little second choices.

All of them pretty in their own right, but they just couldn't compete with the roses.

So whatta ya think Mira? Isn't she a pretty thing?

Now for the rest of this post I thought I would share how my day went today. I know you
all have days when you wish that you had just stayed in bed. Well, today was one of those days for me.
Once a month I have to go to the doctor for a shot in the rear because my body does not take up B12 the
way everyone else's does. If I get low on B12 I get what is known as pernicious (sp) anemia.
Getting this shot is a pain in the (*&#@), literally. I have to drive 30 miles to my doctor, and when I got there this morning, my order for it had expired and my MD was not there to renew it. It's a nurse who gives me my
shot and because my DR. was not there to order it, he couldn't give it to me. So home I went.

I then thought that I would spend the day painting the trim in the bathroom, something that has been waiting for months.(and months and months) I was standing up on the vanity and washing the trim above the mirror and for some reason I stepped back as if I was on flat ground. I made a lot of noise when I hit the dresser that I had moved to the middle of the floor.
No I hadn't been drinking... I think I just forgot
where I was for a minute there.
Wasn't hurt, just stunned that I had done something so stupid and glad that I hadn't got the shot, since it was my rear end that took the brunt of the fall.
I then go to open the paint and since it had been sitting for so long, it was as thick as frosting. I tried to thin it
every way I knew how and use it anyway and ended up making quite the mess. So now my painting is on hold until I can make it to the nearest Home Depot.
I thought it was a good time to just go take a nap since I was starting to feel the effects of my
graceful dismount from the top of the bathroom vanity, but thought I should go pick up the mail before
I got comfy. I thought my bad luck was behind me until I opened my mail and there it was...my jury summons.

Here's hoping that your day was wonderful. I'm planning on staying in bed tomorrow.

I hope your fall isn't anything serious...you may wake up sore tomorrow. And it does sound like you had a frustrating day. Shame on the doctor's office for not calling you...sixty miles in your car!!

I hope you have a simple case when your date for jury duty comes up. I am always worried I will have a big murder case and have to be sequestered!! What an imagination I have!;-)

Oh June,
I'm so sorry but glad you didn't hurt yourself. My grandma had pernicious anemia and gave herself that shot in the leg... but now I forget how often. Sorry to hear about the jury summons too. I got one a while back but they didn't seem to want me (it was a murder trial - yikes!) since there's law enforcement in the fam... but you know that already ;)
Had a super busy week here so I'm already in bed watching old movies and it feels luxurious and oh so good! Have a great weekend, things are going to be so much better for now on for you... Really!

You had a really bad day. I can imagine stepping backward like that. In fact I can imagine almost every way to fall because I have. Hope you don't really hurt tomorrow. Maybe you better have a nice hot bubble bath tonight and soak out that soreness. Jury - yuk! BUT...your little teacup is so pretty.... a winner in my book. I love the little roses, too. Hope tomorrow is better. Blessings, Diane

You poor thing. ((hug)) You are very lucky you were not hurt from such a fall...an angel must of been there to break the fall for you. I'm so glad you were not hurt. Though some aches and bruises may appear within these next few days. So I've never heard of a B12 defficiency like yours, but I do know B12 is very important...especially for women.

Your tea cup(s)is lovely. I think it has a good chance of winning!

What a story! Ouch, I can feel it too! But when you tell it it even sounds a bit funny, but of course it isn't. Oh some days....just stay in bed and read a few lovely magazines or better a romantic book that won't tempt you to paint or do something. I love that teacup! It reminds me of my grandmother. I love the tiny roses.
Have a lovely weekend June and take care!

I THINK YOU SHOULD DECOPAGE THE DRIED UP PAINT CAN, PERHAPS WITH THE JURY SUMMONS, AND USE IT AS A DOOR STOP!

HOPE YOUR WEEK-END IS MUCH BETTER. HUGS, JUDY

Oh June,
You poor thing...what a day. Isn't it strange how days go like that, sometimes ? I hope that you are O.K. I always stand on chairs and lean across and, I shouldn't really. I should get the little step ladder.I bet your family told you off for standing on the vanity.!!
Anyway, I expect a nice cup of tea out of one of your pretty cups would have made you feel better. I don't see why you can't win with that pretty cup (and I love the 'made in Germany tactic!!! haha) I said that I was going to take a picture of a teacup and post it when I went over to Mira's. I must try and do that today although, I don't think any of mine will win but, it's fun, joining in.
Hope that your weekend is a bit more uneventful, June. XXXX

The stars just weren't aligned for you were they?
Maybe it was just meant for you to stay in bed all day afterall. I'm glad you are not hurt, but somehow I have a feeling that when you woke up this morning, you were just a tad sore than you were yesterday. Don't worry, I'll be hoping that your jury summons date is not the same day as your Dr. appointment day! If it were, I think that would just top it off!!!
Maybe you ought to just stay in bed again today in fear of a another bad day...you do know that they do run in three's, don't you?

oh my gosh, June, that day is about as bad as they come!! The real icing on the cake was the jury summons. i am so glad that they do not have that here in germany, I am safe! Hope your backside is feeling better, and glad to hear that you did not get hurt. I dread the thought of me ever falling, you know, the bigger they come the harder they fall and all! And bad knees to make even worse. Yikes.

I did not have a bad day like you, but of late I feel like just staying in bed. a good word for the reason behind it, MOTHERHOOD BURNOUT. I feel like the mama bird who would like to push the birdies from the side of the nest to teach them how to fly, since fly they must!! Oh my, I am in a mood of late, I hope it is only temporary!! hugs to you dear friend, stay safe!! debby

Not such a great day, June. First a fall and then a jury duty summons? I would definitely go back to bed and hope the "comes in threes" thing doesn't happen! Or perhaps missing the doctor counts as the third?

Your teacup is lovely...the best ones are found at yard sales and second hand shops! I'll go check out Mira now.

G'morn, June ~ I love your sweet German teacup. This pattern was one of our biggest sellers in our shop.

You are such a kick ... what a day for you.

I am sorry you have a B-12 issue. May I add my two cents? I, too, have the same anemia issues as do you ... I was taking shots monthly for years. One day I asked my Dr. if I could just take B-12 pills daily ... he thought for a bit & said we could try it with a close monitor for a couple months ... I have never had to take shots since, just the pill daily. I also don't miss the high's & low's of the B-12 shots.

I always get such joy visiting with you, hope today is a better one.

Have a wonderful week.

Hi June, so sorry to hear about your day. I hate days that start off on the wrong foot. It happens to all of us at one time or another. Glad to hear that you are well and were only stunned and possibly bruised by the fall. I love your little teacup. Especially the blue one on it side with the painted roses on the inner lip. So lovely. All your rosettes in the previous post are gorgeous as are all the wonderful items you received in the giveaways. Lucky you! Jury summons. Boo! Wishing you all the best and hoping for much better days ahead. Blessings, Tammy

Hi! Just wanted to drop by to say hi. Weather is great today, sunny as can be and in the 40's, quite fabulous after this long winter and then the storm over the weekend. I am soaking up the sunny warmth at the window as I write. And emotionally I am starting to come out of the "fog". thanks for the encouragement, dear friend! hugs to you, Debby

p.s. I am sooo forgetful, I wanted to comment on your rosette pillows. Oh my gosh, those are just the cutest things I have ever seen, and I mean that with all my heart. I have been wanting to make some new pillows for our couch, and now I know just what to do with them. You would think a ribbonworker like me would have thought of rosettes for pillows a long time ago! PERFECT IDEA and I have some new laces that I could use that would be perfect for them. You are so creative my dear friend. hugs again, Debby

June amor, I LOVE your cup and you know what??? most of mine came to my posession in the same way...yardsales, thifting and antique mall...years ago before the prices flew out the roof :) Now amor I hope you have been resting and are feeling better...ouchie...how many times I have done something like this I can't count...like the last time I was on the tall step stool reaching for something in the kitchen and w/o thinking walked right off the top step when I got what I was looking for...thank goodness someone was home, cause I honestly sat and cried lol felt like I was 5...it hurt that bad...was even worse the next morning...hope that wasn't the case with you and btw...the bebe dolls are taken me to you...ha! ha! :) besos, Rose

ps...instead of the monthy b12 shot can you take them daily sublingual? I have to have the montly shot too and haven't in over 3 months...guess that is why everytime someone coughs or sneezes..I get it lol but let me know, I can send you the b12 sublinguals they work great...I am just too lazy to take them everyday and just so you know...you need to find a new nurse to give you that shot...cause mine has NEVER hurt, only my pride from given someone my cheek so to speak :)

Bless your heart. You did have a rough day! I hope all is better by now. XOXO

I laughed at your jurors summons. You don't know how bad I want to be picked for a jury. I love watching all the stuff on TRU TV and would love to be in the middle of it all. But they never send me an invite. Darn my luck! Hehehe...most that have served tell me I am lucky!

Oh June, What a day! I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself too badly falling from the vanity! Driving 30 miles just for a shot - I hardly can imagine that. I used to get B12 shots for a couple of years until last summer. Then the parameter was pretty good and we stopped it. I should have a check soon if it's still o.k. I only need 2 minutes by car to go to the doctor but I hated it anyway to go there every 6 weeks.
Good luck for the jury summons!
Hugs,
Julia
